Tazarotene is a vitamin A derivative called a topical retinoid. It helps clear acne by promoting skin cell turnover and reducing inflammation in the skin.
Tazarotene is usually applied once a day around bedtime.
makes my skin really really greasy and oily, breakout on nose
Seems to be bringing oils/dirt to surface. Skin is smooth once peels, although not all is peeling.
Does take time - I am in week 5 and still experiencing the purging process. Parts of skin are clear and smooth, but still getting new "bumps".
It seemed to work for me when I started using it a year or two ago. I used it for over a year solid, every night. I used the gel and never experienced drying or peeling. My skin is pretty resilient to becoming chapped or over dried.
It left behind a lot hyperpigmentation. This was almost as bad as acne because from far away it looked like my acne was still there.
Im going to be updating evey one or two weeks about the acne treatment!
It does burn when apply and leaves redish spots

Help my skin clear up.major success
my mouth is extremly dry @ times and when applied on the neck or chest then it peels really bad
Reduced the number of acne breakouts-smoother skin.
The acne spots I have now, while fewer, are worse and I resemble a teenage boy...not the "cool" teenage boy but the A.V. dork who wears a retainer and has social problems.
It worked for me. 46 years old with hormone induced acne. Antibiotic wasn't very helpful. This totally worked. I'm 100% clear.
Can be drying. I had to learn my tolerance level. I overdid it at first and had the whole peeling/burning experience. Now I apply a thin layer of moisturizer, then the Taz. Also, I did experience the "gets worse before it get better" phenomenon.
if you are patient, you will see improvement. DO USE A THIN LAYER OF MOISTURIZER FIRST! Then a thin layer of Taz! This will prevent redness, burning, drying, and peeling! DermaE is a great natural cream to try.
BE CAreful in the sun, and yes, it may get worse before better, but persevere!!
Absolutely the best product I have ever used for acne treatment. I have moderate acne due to insulin resistance. After a month, my skin was clear and stayed clear! My skin felt like a 16 year old's skin too!
You really do have to wait out the redness. I had to go to a corporate conference, and my face was bright red and peeling all over. I was so embarrassed. But two or three weeks later, voila, perfect skin.
