Cons:
burns skin, causes peeling, significantly worsens acne initially
I have been on Tazorac for about 3 weeks now and my acne is worse than ever. I was getting pretty worried, but I feel a lot better after reading these posts and seeing that MANY other people have shared similiar results. Hopefully, the result will be well worth the month of even worse skin. So far, I'm not sure if I would recommend it or not.

This stuff sucks, it irritated my skin so bad when I got my eyebrows waxed it took off my skin, luckily I used Neosporin and it heeled up. My skin was so dry no moisturizer would work, not even vaseline. The funny thing about this whole thing is, my skin isnt sensitive at all!! I have tough skin.

ive only been on it for two and a half weeks and my dermatologist and everyone else on this site says that its normal for me to breakout for the first 4-6 weeks. But it really sucks because i can tell everyone is staring at my face, my acne has never been this bad. :( I REALLY HOPE IT STARTS WORKING SOON!

Pros:
This product is incredible I have only been on this product for 3 days and so far this has worked better than any other product I have used hands down. I had very bad and rough skin. After just 2 days my skin is getting as smooth as a babies bottom.
Cons:
None so far....maybe the price ($50.00 w/ insurance) base price $200.00
If you want real results and are tired of playing experiment with your derm. This is something that will work. I am on 0.05 Taz w/ 50mg Doxycycline. Most of my skin is scarred and hyperpigmented mixed with bumps. I can see already that this has worked better than accutane, differin, benza, clindamycin proactive and others put together. I will continune to post as I continue my treatment. But the small bumps has cleared, and my pigmentation is starting to heal and its only been 3 days.

Pros:
4 years i have used tazorac..I had awful huge flaming red acne
tazorac and approx 1 year on antibiotics it cleared my skin
and helped clear the horrible red marks scarsbonus my skin is even younger looking
Cons:
my face is a little puffy
it changed my life/ confidence level

I have been using tazorac for a week and a half now. i know its too early to really see what will happen, but my dermoltogist is amazing and even though this product is making my skin really red and itching i am going to stick with it because the texture of my skin is really even and my dermo promise the color will be with time... i cant wait to see the results...and get past this horrible first month...

Peeling around mouth
When my sons actually followed the doctor's directions and worked gradually up to using it daily, the results were remarkable. Don't use it around the mouth or eyes as it causes excessive drying and even cracking. Allow your skin to dry for 20 minutes before applying, as damp skin leads to an increase in the drying and peeling side effects. And remember to use the recommended spf moisturizer in conjunction with it every day.

Pros:
Cleared up body acne initially after Differin and oral antibiotics became ineffective.
Cons:
Caused extreme peeling on my face, which actually led to an increase in my blackheads. It lost effectiveness on my back after a few years. It is also very expensive, even with fantastic Rx drug coverage.
I began using the 0.05% strength about 7 years ago and increased to the 0.1% strength about 5 years ago. I have used it on and off since then. It works best for body acne, particularly on the back and shoulders, as these areas are least susceptible to Tazorac's harsh side effects. I used it in combination with clindamycin, and it worked fairly well in clearing up and preventing future acne. However, it must be used EVERY day to maintain the difference. I was hoping to wean myself off of Rx acne medication after almost 10 years of using it, but I've never been able to.
It is a poor choice for facial use. Unless you have extremely oily skin that never flakes, I wouldn't recommend this product. It made my skin oily, extremely sensitive and flaky. Makeup would flake off my skin and lotions mixed with flakes to create an unsightly paste. The excessive flaking and oil made blackheads much worse. I stopped using it on my face about a year ago, and my skin improved dramatically.

Seems to worsen acne, seriously irritates the skin, increases susceptibility to sun burns, causes massive peeling/flaking.
I'm sure that effectiveness varies from person to person, but Tazorac had definitely not worked for me. I've been using it consistently for more than a year and I've finally decided to give up because it only seems to worsen the acne on my face and back and it makes my face peel horribly.

Pros:
It does work after a month or so but not very well.
Cons:
It takes forever to get it to work, and makes skin sensitive to sun and drys it out. My derm recommended using duac topical gel with it and it just makes skin really dry.
This product definity isnt for people who want instant results but i've tried other products like Proactiv and this product still beats that in the long run. Use it consistantly and eventually your skin will clear up.
Pros:
Affordable, covered by insurance, doesn't bleach clothing
