Cons:
You will have not miracles, acne is a condition that you manage, there is no cure. Overall effectiveness, tazorac is better.
Overall Tazorac has been better. I have decided to stick with it, please don't use too many medicines, I have a little problem with this. Wait for one to work, there is no miracle drug, I have also had chemical peels and microderm, they help but acne is a codniton that is managed, not cured. Good Luck!

Cons:
Extremely dry skin (the kind you can only rub off because moisturizer doesn't seem to help!) and did help my acne.
Ironically, my college roommate and I both went home for our Dec 2006 winter break and came back to find out we were BOTH put on tazorac gel. Since then, I have only gotten worse. My dermatologist kept telling me it takes a long time, that I could just be someone who needs to use it longer. But over a year later I have only gotten worse! My roommate on the other hand went from horrible to PERFECT skin. We use the same face wash and everything, so I definitely can see that it does have the potential to clear someone up wonderfully. Also, her skin doesn't dry out at all, so I think her skin is tougher and can handle this product. My skin burns and peels off. I think you'll know after the first few months if it will work or not. And if your skin dries/peels and NEVER gets used to this product, then you can get off it. Worth a try since I saw my roommates skin become flawless.

Pros:
I am on Tazorac, its pretty sweet. I went on accutane, cleared acne, but I have scars now, not bad, but enought of them. Tazorac is helping, been on for like 10 days. I love it.
Cons:
Slight peeling, nothing serious. Had some break outs, but managable.
Tazorac is great, it clears pimples in like litterally over night. I had one yesterday, it was a scab today that fell off. I am hoping within a week my scars will be gone. I am over my serious breakout stages. (knock on wood) I LOVE TAZORAC

Pros:
Dried up my cystic acne. Cleared up all my blackheads on my nose. Appears to be clearing up the whiteheads on my cheeks as well.
Cons:
Goes on shiny. Incredibly drying, 3 months in, I'm still peeling. Increased breaking out at initial use. Doesn't appear to fade red marks very well.
I have super oily skin and eczema, so it's been hard trying to find a medication that I can tolerate. I was on Benzaclin for about 9 years before it finally seemed to lose its potency. Got on the Tazorac, and initially I broke out even more, especially on my cheeks and forehead. It did a great job of keeping my nose clear though. I'm not sure if it was just the Tazorac, my first month, I was taking Bactrim orally, and using benzoyl peroxide prescription cleansing pads in the morning, all in conjunction with the Tazorac, but it seemed to all make my acne a lot worse than it's ever been. About a month ago, I went off the Bactrim, stopped using the cleansing pads, and just wash my face with Lever soap, and the Tazorac at night, and after 3 months, my skin is finally clearing up. Cystic acne is gone, red marks still around, but for the most part, my skin's been pretty smooth. Don't know if it was worth the initial break out, but my skin looks like it's going to continue to improve.

Pros:
Reduced the scars a little. My skin feels softer. Definately not drying up my skin or making it irratating.
Cons:
Still breaking out after 4 weeks! My skin is still super oily and I have yet to see those dramatic results.
Not sure if this is helping...yet. Been on it for a month and I am still breaking out, yet I do notice my scars are fading a little. I am going to be patient and wait another month. The new pimples on my skin due go away within a couple days instead of a week.

Makes skin peel like mad... Not good for sensitive skin.
I have very mild acne. My doctor gave me a small sample tube of Tazorac in 0.05%. I suppose it will improve acne with continuous use, but, I stopped after a week of using it because it made my face peel like crazy. I couldn't even put on foundation because my skin would be flaky the minute after I moisturize.

Slowly loses effectiveness
I first started using tazorac (along with triaz 3% pads) a bit under a year ago. I thought it was a miracle product, since it had cleared up all my acne in about a month, even though it was slightly irritating. After a few months of use, my acne slowly got worse and worse and i am now seeking alternate forms of treatment.

Pros:
it eventually clears your skin pretty well
Cons:
it took WAY too long to see results. your face will constantly be dry even after 3 years of using it. your face will also become extremely sensitive to everything.
it took a good 2 years to actually see good results- i'm not even sure why i stuck with it for that long. i hate how dry my skin always was-- it was very combination skin though; i would have shiny skin but my skin would be peeling off at the same time-- winter is a nightmare. i stopped using tazorac because it didn't give good enough results for me and my skin was dry for 3 years. i did see big results though

Cons:
Skin gets worse before it gets better
The medicine is sensitive to the sun. To eliminate burning and peeling, only use it at night and go with something like proactive during the day.

its been drying my face and the skin around my nose has started peeling but cetaphil moisturizing lotion works well for that
i've been using it for less than a week and so far its just made my face burn/peel
Pros:
I have used tazorac for a while, it stopped working so I went on differin 3.0, I think doctors developed this in response to a test whihc had Tazorac ranked hed and shoulders over differin. I am going back to tazorac, differin is not as effective.
