Easy to find and with low side effects, but don’t be surprised if you are left wishing for better results after using it for a while. Any acid on its own is unlikely to dramatically clear acne.

Amazing!
Absolutely love this product. Have been going through hell trying to find a product that suits my skin type and would help to clear up my adult acne. My skin is not dry nor oily. This product started working from day one. It feels light on your skin and your skin feels natural, soft and healthy! A combination of this product, healthy eating (no sugar) and birth control and my acne is almost gone after 4 horrible months.

HORRIBLE
I used this stuff once upon a time, and it didn't work well for me. The first time, I was already broken out, so I didn't attribute my breakouts to this; I just switched to another moisturizer because I was a product junkie and was trying anything I could to clear up my skin. Over the last couple of years, my skin has gotten better. It was at its best about 6 -12 months ago, and I wasn't even wearing face makeup when I went out. I felt so free. Unfortunately, I happened to use this stuff again when I went to my parents' house and saw it in my mom's bathroom. The great smell and product claims on the bottle sucked me in again, and I bought 2 bottles. I began breaking out horribly (blocked pores and inflammatory acne), but didn't realize this was the cause until I was practically done with the first bottle. I stopped using it a few weeks ago and have had no new breakouts but have been left with hyperpigmentation (I'm a horrible picker) that has left me not wanting to go out in public. I have to wake up a bit earlier for work to spend time covering about 30 marks and even an open wound on my forehead that is unsightly. It's been a while since I've had to do that, and I hate it. I've vowed to never purchase this product again and to get rid of my other bottle before I forget what happened, convince myself it wasn't so bad, and start using it again. Truly, the best moisturizer for me is the neutrogena basic one without any sunscreen. Even the Walmart equate version works well for me. But I just don't react as well to moisturizers that make special claims or have spf. Be careful with this stuff. Most people like it, but I despise it! Fyi, 29/f with acne prone normal to oily skin.

awesome!
Been using this for more than a week now. I have stopped using BP on all of my face except my chin area. No where else on my face has had a breakout and only the area I apply BP may have a few white heads. I started testing this using it only at night in place of the AHA+. My routine now is Cleanse, Stridex Wipe, BP spot on active acne only, and Moisturize. I have a feeling I can just not use the BP, but I keep it only for the acne that may pop up once in a while. This product is cheap too for 90 pads. I have now started using stridex pads in the same regime i just mentioned, but now morning and night.

This product made me break out!!!! I was trying to solve one problem and It gave me more. I had pimples forming everywhere after I started using this. It was a complete waste of money for me, I have the whole tube sitting on my bathroom counter just taking up space, definitely going to throw it away. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT FOR ANYONE. DO NOT GET IT!!!! IT'S A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY ''I ASSURE YOU'' !!!!!!

tried it today
this stuff works, i used it for the two whiteheads i had gotten overnight. i dabbed a little bit on and in a couple hours it had shrunk in size a lot, i applied again and it was dried up and gone within 2 hours. it works, you just have to give it time, its not instant magic.

One of the best Neutrogena products I've tried
I like it a lot for the price. If I'm clear, it keeps me clear. However- it smells strongly funky like cat urine which makes it unpleasant to wash with.

Pros:

Effective!

Cons:

Discontinued :(

I remember using this when I was 16 or 17 along w the neutrogena complete therapy system, I had really bad acne and this is what cleared me and faded my scars and spots. I am now 23 and going through a bad time w my skin, and can no longer find anything as good and effective as this for my acne and scars :(

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
