Pros:

Clears acne and dead skin without irritating my skin.

Cons:

Hard to wash off, I sometimes fine little grainy peices on my skin after I use it.

This scrub is one of the only scrubs that hydrates my skin, clears acne and dead skin off of my face without irritating or burning my sensitive skin.

Pros:

Does a decent job removing zits, but a great job preventing them. No rinse required. Personally I found it actually moisterized my skin a little.

Cons:

The scent is pretty potent. I usually only use it before bed, or after workouts because of it.

Very affordable product. Depending on how often you use it, about $8 will get you a pack that lasts a month or two. Very portable, it's great for camping trips or anywhere you have low access to a shower. I usually end up buying the triple action or deep cleansing, but if your acne is so bad you need to use it morning, afternoon and night, you may want to go with unscented. The first few times you use it, it stings a little, but once your skin adjusts it's fine.

Pros:

- Oil-free
- Made my sking feel smooth/clean
- Smell is good!

Cons:

- "Beads" don't wash off that easily

I've been using Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash for over 6-7 months, twice a day like it said in the bottle, it first worked but then my acne came back, got tired of it so I bought this, it's amazing and it actually cleared up my acne!

Really cleared up acne fast.

Cons:

Burned for a few seconds after applied

Would definetly recommend for someone seeking a non benzyl peroxide alternative for spot treatment.

Pros:

Gentle on skin, non-drying, helped reduce some blemishes. Lotion seemed to help reduce some oil.

Cons:

System did not work as well as it is advertised to. Toner left a sticky film on skin. Bottle sizes are small for thier price.

The first time I used the system it seemed to improve my skin clarity somewhat and reduce the number of breakouts. The second time I used it, it had no effect on clearing up any blemishes. Overall, the product does not stand up to its claims. I did not notice enough of an improvement to recommend someone to buy this product.

Pros:

Nice body Scrub
Removies dirt
lathers up nicely

Cons:

left oily film
didnt help my acne, actually worsend it
Produce dozens of more acne bumpsand and was imposible to get out of the bottle

i didnt like it very much, i found by using nothing on my back no cleansers at all worked better then anything. i keep my hair off of my chest back and shoulders most of the time now so i have less breakouts. i do have the odd pimple on my back and chest once and a while, but if i just leave it alone it goes away.

Pros:

It helps your skin feel smooth and soft, tt is inexpensive, it does not make your skin feels dry on your face

Cons:

it smells a bit

It works very well if you are consistant. If you use it a lot, you will need to put lotion on your hands so that hry will not become dry. It works very fast, about a week or two, if you are consistant.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
