Pros:

Clears acne quickly.

Cons:

Makes my whole face and neck bumpy, dry, itchy, and swollen. Do not use if you have sensitive skin. My eyes are almost swollen to the point that they are shut. It sucks.

DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE SENSITVIE SKIN!! OR ELSE YOU WILL WAKE UP LOOKING LIKE QUAZIMOTO IN THE MORNING!!

Pros:

Moisturizes without making my skin oily, light, doesn't clog pores, does wonders for the skin!!

Cons:

Would be awesome with some SPF!

By far my favourite moisturizer. Everything else either goes on too heavy or doesn't absorb or makes me paranoid about breakouts. Not this! I have an oily skin type with history of complicated acne (severity would have been HIGH, was cystic), and I've read complaints that the medication concentration is too high but I think my skin's rather desensitized to it so it doesn't bother me at all! Everyone's skin is different, but this is my dream moisturizer.

Pros:

Soothes my skin, doesn't react to sun light.

Cons:

Packaging sucks, metal. I still had like 1/5 of it when I got a new one.

Get it if you can find it under 25 dollars. It works.

Pros:

worked quickly i tried it the first day and it was WONDERFUL

Cons:

if you stop using it then yes you will break out but that is because your skin is going from clean to dirty....

i tried proactive, clearosel(spelled wrong...),noxema and a few other products and out of all of them this works the best.

Pros:

you can feel it working IMMEDIATELY, and although I've only been using it for several days, it works wonders and I have high hopes as I continue to use it!

I've tried EVERYTHING (well, not really, but just about!) and I've been suffering from acne for a very long time. I hate not being able to look at myself in a mirror because I'm ashamed of my acne, but now it's already starting to clear up and I think that at this rate I'll be free at last in a week or so!

Pros:

This product takes next to no time to use and keeps my acne under control

Cons:

The odor is quite strong and unpleasant (fortunately it doesn't last long) and the product stings a little especially if it's near your eyes (doesn't sting for long at all though)

Good product for the price and easy to use.

Pros:

it makes my skin softer

Cons:

it stings alot after, drys out my skin, makes my face all red and since ive been using it i have more acne then i did before

I only had a bit of acne on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Since using this i have a lot more. People say that will happen though cause its bringing everything to the surface at the begining. I have dry skin and mild acne. It might work for you, cause all skin types are different.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
