Easy to find and with low side effects, but don’t be surprised if you are left wishing for better results after using it for a while. Any acid on its own is unlikely to dramatically clear acne.

Pros:

-It does visibly clear your skin. I mainly have blackheads and it always gets rid of most of them.
-It leaves your skin feeling clean and soft. It feels very smooth afterward.
-It doesn't smell toxic. Although I've never actually flat out sniffed it, it doesn't smell exactly brilliant but it isn't a bad smell.
-It's refreshing.
-It works on various skin types. My sister and I both use it. She's slightly younger and just going into her teenage years and it works great on her.

Cons:

-It sometimes leaves your skin feeling tight.
-If you over use it, it may dry out your skin.

If your between the ages of 11-13 (around my sister's age) then I recommend you only use it once a day or a few times a week so it doesn't dry your skin out too much. If your 13+ then use it twice a day along with a moisturiser for oily skin

Pros:

feels good on my face, i like the foaming cream

Cons:

left my skin a little tight immediately after drying, the product could smell a little better

i use this daily in the shower, and it keeps my skin clear and (for the most part) pimple free

Pros:

- Makes skin soooo soft
- smells yummy

Cons:

- Made me break out when I used it too often (everyday, sometimes twice a day)

I started using it again after a couple months after it totally destroyed my face and made it worse than ever. I use it once every few days, maybe just once a week just to take off some dead skin cells. and after I use aveeno clear complexion foaming cleanser which I love. I use that everyday though. so far so good. Im just tryna make sure I dont over due it!

Pros:

The first product to control my acne. I use it three times a day on my whole face, not just on new breakouts and I found that it kills the new acne before it grows. Use it even when you think your face is clear. And it hydrates nicely. There is also no tingle. Some people here have commented that beccause they don't feel it, they put on more but this is not necessary. It's supposed to be light and painless.

Cons:

It got rid of my acne so there are no cons at all!!!!

Best product I've ever used. Great price. One tube lasted 3-4 months. I take it everywhere. So worth every penny.

Pros:

It works when you first use it, then after it doesn't.

Cons:

It made me break out like crazy all over!
too pricey

I know everyone has different type of skin, i have combination skin and nit did not work for me at all! it made me break out even more then before, i already returned it and got my money back. Bottom line I do not recommend this product at all! and i definitely regret using it.

Great stuff!
I began getting acne when I was 13 years old and it was horrible. I would break out all over my forehead with huge red pimples, and on my jaw line a lot of tiny pimples. What made it even worse was that I had extremely oily and sensitive skin. I literally tried everything on the market, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Mario Badescu, Dr. Murad etc. Nothing cleared up my skin and some products just made it worse. I began to lose hope until one day I went to Ulta and saw the system. It was (and still is) a bit pricey but I decided to try it anyways. It was one of the best decisions i ever made! I have been using it for a couple months and I began to see my skin clear up in about 2-3 weeks. My forehead, temples, and jawline are finally clear. I still sometimes get a couple pimples on my cheeks, but it is most likely due to hormonal reasons. Overall it has been super gentle on my sensitive skin and has helped A LOT.

Its a good Cleanser!
I have the scrub version and I really like this product. Many people dislike this product because they say it makes their skin very dry after cleansing. Just use a moisturizer afterwards. I really like this face wash!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
