Pros:

I guess its working when I put on the moisturizer it stings a bit.

Cons:

Umm I actually had a major breakout after only using for a week..Is that supposed to happen.

Use it if you feel like youre at your wits end. I think its affordable but if I have to keep buying it then I would much rather go pay a visit to a dermatologist.

Pros:

It's not that expensive...

Cons:

It totally irritated my skin. I only used it for 4 or 5 days, and it turned my skin leathery, dry and bumpy. Yes it took the acne away... But it burned my face really badly, and my skin is typically not sensitive to products.

I was VERY disappointed. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone, no matter how bad their acne is. My face is still itching and burning even after I stopped using it 2 days ago! Horrible!

Pros:

Does not dry up with white residue (a huge plus) works great in short time

Cons:

This is the very best BP cream I have ever used, and I have used them all.

Pros:

Makes you feel god about using something that's "supposedly" used by celebrities

Cons:

DOES NOT WORK

BEsides the terrible smell and horrible breakouts it causes, it's still a terrible product. I've had acne for about 2 years and thought this would cure it. Well...i didn't. It works at first and then makes you breakout like crazy. And, yes the refining mask is a good product, but You have to use it everyday just for the pimple to get unnocibly smaller. It does not stop zits. It just dries your skin, which they think amkes your pimples appear smaller. It doesn't. The people on tv lied. They retouched the pictures and wore make-up in the commercial. Do NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!

Pros:

Cheap, easy to find at most stores

Cons:

Cream is DRYING, Taking the pills twice a day (some say they are placebos anyway)

This did nothing for me. In fact, I feel like it made my skin even worse. I used it for about 4 months/4 boxes. Nothing was happening so I stopped taking it. My skin however is worse than when I started! I now have acne on my upper back, which I NEVER had before. I'm unsure if this is a result of the Natures Cute, but I have no idea why it's worse now. I know that not every product will work for everybody, but this has left me in a worse place than before. You get what you pay for-a ten dollar, "sold at Wal-Mart" product will NOT cure stubborn acne. Please don't get your hopes up.

Pros:

it cleared up my acne really well

Cons:

well sometimes the consistency of the wash and lotion were different with each kit i bought and the second i stopped using it, my acne flare up a week later. but if you continue to use it, it works wonderful

i like it better than all the prescriptions i have tried. (i've tried them all :))

Pros:

Not really any, except clears up redness a little at first.

Cons:

Made me break out worse than I was before.

I usually use Olay products which work good on me, but have a big family function coming up and wanted to try and clear my face fast, so I picked this up at Wal-Mart. It started to clear up my redness, but did nothing for the acne, then made it worse. I switched to Dove soap (under Dr. advice) but now I am going back to Olay!

Pros:

It helps clear your acne after three weeks of using it.

Cons:

It irritates your skin a lot, it becomes extremely oily anf flaky, uneven, and the worse thing is that acne is never gone.

With Proactiv Solutions breakouts will dissapear for a few months but your skin will be so damaged because of Benzoyl Peroxide, which is too strong. Oveall, I recommendo Murad Ane Complex, because it works and it really makes your skin healthy without irritating it.

Pros:

Worked great for me! My acne was eliminated in about a week and my breakouts are now very few and far between. My skin is glowing now and I havn't had any problems with overdrying though I due use a oil free moisturizer daily.

Cons:

Must be careful with towels and fabris as far as bleaching but this was nothing new for me as I used Clean & Clear's Persagel alot in the past (too dryng - don't see me needing to use this now).

I have had trouble with moderate acne for almost 10 years with a breif 1 year intermision with Accutane. I was just about to try Pro-Active when I saw AcneFree at Wal-Mat and thought I would give it a try first. Very glad I did!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
