Pros:

Makes my skin clear in a few days. Cheap for the price you pay. Lotion has SPF.

Cons:

Over use can ruin your skin. Lotion can really only be used in the day.

It's been a long time since I've used products with benzoyl peroxide in it so it will dry out my skin if I over use it too early. I've learned to use the product every other night and with a toner to get rid of the dry skin. My kit came with a free spot treatment so I use that when I feel a pimple developing and it gets rid of it quickly. On the nights I don't use the benzoyl peroxide lotion I use a toner and moisturizer to rehydrate my skin and give it a break from the drying effects of the benzoyl peroxide. I would not recommend this product for people with overly sensitive skin. Many people will make the mistake of using this product twice a day, everyday. That will only quickly dry out your skin and make your acne worse than make it better.

Pros:

leaves skin feeling so soft after all steps

Cons:

it stopped working for me after a few months

I loved this product the moment I tried it. My entire family noticed a difference. My skin has a few zits here and there but during certain times of each month my acne gets worse. After the second day of using this product I seriously had no need to put on foundation or powder on my skin, thats how great it looked. But after a few months I wasnt as commited to the regime because my skin was looking great. Now I need to get back on track but its not working like before. Maybe my skin became used to it.

Pros:

The soap made my skin feel squeaky clean and I like that the ingredients are all natural.

Cons:

Within days of starting this product I had terrible cystic acne on my chin, which I never had before.

This seems to work for a lot of other people and I'm really disappointed that it did not work for me. I think the oils and shea butter clogged my pores something fierce. Although the website and the direction page say to keep using the products for a minimum of a month, I simply couldn't sit idly by and watch my chin get worse and worse, not with wedding season in full swing anyway. I switched back to Dan's regimen and am almost 100% clear.

Pros:

No horrible smell, works beautifully, spreads nicely.

Cons:

Only con is that you have to order it online!

I love this. It's the best BP I have ever used. The best thing is that it doesn't smell horrible like other BP products. And it works like a charm. I will definitely order more once I run out. :)

Pros:

it cleans your face and makes you feel refreshed and you can feel it working which i think feels good on your face

Cons:

it only cleared some of my zits (3 out of 15)

if you have mild acne its 4 you but it you have lots of zits i would get retinA or benzaclin those are the acne products ive used so far tht work but it will break out you face at 1st... then clear em up in a few weeks

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
