Pros:

NONE

Cons:

Make my acne so much worse.
Dry skin
Overpriced
Over-advertised
Very small bottles
Stains fabric.

If you want absolutly terrible skin, then proactiv is the product for you. The adverts drove me crazy, so I bought some, and was I sorry. My skin was red and horrible. And it stains clothes really bad, so if it can do that to fabric, then think of what it can do to your skin.

Pros:

See improvement after 3 days.
makes skin feel clean.
Clears Hormonal Acne.

Cons:

A little drying

I have hormonal acne that just started for me about a year ago after going off the pill. I've tried everything which made my skin break out more and increased oil. I came across this product at Wal Mart and figured "why not" I wanted to try Proactiv but heared nothing but bad reviews. Ive been using AneFree for 3 days and I can't believe how it's already changed my skin for the better. Im hoping that it will continue and the drying will let up a little once my skin gets used to it.

Pros:

-Reduces Pimple/Cyst Size

Cons:

- Does Not Clear Up Your Skin
- Makes Skin Dry
- Makes Acne Worse
- Redness/Burning

For this product all the commercials you see on TV you would think this would work right? But it does not the first time i tried this i put on the 3 Step solution my face burned so bad and i looked in the mirror and it was extremely red like a cherry so i immediately washed it off then it stopped burning, i recommend if this happens to you to wash it off and the next day only use step 1 and 2 not the benzoyl one then a couple weeks later try step 3 and when i did that it did not burn after but i used this for 2 months or so, and this was worthless did not help improve my face at all, made more breakouts. So i gave up on it. I am now trying Doxycycline a prescribed medicine from my Dermatologist so i hope this works, i know how much this can kill your self esteem trust me im 15, a sophomore in high school and it only seems like people are staring at my face. So i dont recommend you try this but if you best luck to you because no one wants acne.

Pros:

Clears acne
Gives skin a clean feeling
Cleans pores
Removes dirt/oil
Works with a makeup product as well

Cons:

SLIGHT dryness

This product was the best I have used to solve my acne problems. The three step solution is prefect, easy and quick to use morning and night. The clarifying lotion shows the dirt and makeup that is being removed, so I know that the product is working. A simple solution to the dryness issue is to skip the moisturizer when necessary and use a normal, non medicated moisturizer. I expecially love how this product has a makeup line with it, which is also medicated products. Within a few days I felt a significant difference within my skin, and within a week or so change showed. I love my skin now!

November 5, 2011

Pros:

it works!
not drying

Cons:

expensive

this stuff is amazing! i tried the regular clinique 3-step system, and it didnt' work. after reading reviews, i decided to give this a shot, and thank god i did! in just a week, my acne was completely cleared up, and i only get the occasional blemish. also, despite what i had heard, it doesn't dry out my skin. definitely try this out!
November 3, 2011

Pros:

Prevents Breakouts, Not drying, not overly moisturizing, just the right amount!

Cons:

Nothing

I have tried everythig for my face Proactive, Skin ID, Acne Foam, Arbonne acne, and RE9, all neutrogena, clean and clear, everything and nothing seemed to work and if it did, not for long. I am very impressed with Acne Free for Sensitive skin, it works great and very reasonably priced!

Pros:

smells good

Cons:

worked at first but then suddenly stopped. then started slightly irritating skin and got gradually worse until it burned to put on. all of my acne came back. this stuff absolutely sucks.

this stuff is horrible and painful. dont waste your money. im switching back to proactiv. it works so much better and keeps my skin so soft and clear and doesnt hurt at all.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
