I'm pretty sure I've never written a review for anything in my life but I just had to write one for this. About 6 months ago I stopped taking birth control and for those of you that don't know, one of the perks of being on BC is flawless skin. Roughly 1 month after I got off BC I started breaking out. At first it was only a pimple here and there and then it got progressively worse. I shelled out hundreds of dollars on products and face tools that claim to "ride you of acne forever" and to no avail. Nothing worked for me. My self esteem was shot and there was A LOT of crying and "why me's". As I was just about to give up and accept my fate of having an acne ridden face for the rest of my life I figured I'd try one last thing. After watching a ton of youtube reviews I finally gave in and ordered the regimen and omg I'm so happy I did and I really wish I ordered it 6 months sooner. I've been on the regimen for 3 weeks now and my skin is SO much better. I can't even tell you how pleased I am. I saw the inflammation of my skin and active acne decreasing within the first few days. I still get 1 or 2 pimples here and there but they clear up in no time. Plus I figured that would decrease as I continue the regimen and it's no where NEAR as bad as it was before! Like everyone else my skin was super dry but I started using jojoba oil by itself as a night time moisturizer and the moisturizer that comes with the regimen in the morning, followed by a moisturizer with SPF. Now all I have left is hyper-pigmentation from acne scars ( I'm a picker :( ) but I just ordered the glycolic acid to start using at my 1-month mark which is supposed to help with that. I can't wait until my skin is back to it's flawless self! Thank you so much acne.org you're seriously a life saver!!

The best there is
This product is an absolute miracle worker and no other benzoyl peroxide really compares to it. The closest I have found is panoxyl aquagel but it was discontinued years ago. If you are looking to get it can be found on ebay.

So far so good
I bought this about 2 months ago and was only using it sparadically until my acne got worse. I only get acne on the lower half of my face, with my chin being the main concern. I break out in cystic acne, although mild, can still leave some hyperpigmentation and scars. I have been using this once a day, every night before bed. I ONLY apply it to my chin and only use little more then a pea sized amount . I was previously using it twice a day as suggested, however, it was drying my skin out something terrible. My skin is still dry and flaky ,even while using this once a day. I also use the moisturizer (which I love) and a couple of drops of jojaba oil after the BP has been absorbed. I have also been spot treating a couple of dark marks that have been lingering for a while with the glycolic acid. The acne on my chin is mostly hormonal but I'm sick of the dark marks and scarring it is leaving on my skin. So far I have been using the benzoyl peroxide faithfully for about 3 weeks (the glycolic every few days, as I found it would leave almost an orange tint to my skin where I applied it .. which does disappear after a few days thank God) Overall, I have definetly noticed a reduction in the amount of cysts on my chin. Although the flaking is unpleasant , I feel like there has been a reduction in the hyperpigmentation as well as you can literally "peel off" your dark marks (gross I know) I also think time has played a part in the reduction of dark marks but the BP has definetly helped. If your reading this and unsure about buying , just give it a shot. I will update in a month or so, but as of right now I am happy with this product. To Respond to a comment I saw below mine... I had zero issues with the shipping time. I ordered from Canada and did not pay extra for quicker shipping. I got mine in six days which is nothing I'm going to complain about.

Getting worried and feeling anxious!
I started the regimen on April 19th so I'm on my 3rd week and I'm not seeing a difference really. I am actually getting a few cystic acne like the deep painful ones more than before. And when I wake up in the morning I have a couple really small white heads on my chin everyday. I do wear makeup because I am not confident enough to go to work without it and I tend to pick at my face. Something I try to control but it's hard sometimes. Especially when these white heads keep forming. Just trying to get an understanding and reausrrance. My face overall I have noticed is smoother and seems less inflamed. But disappointed on the amount of active pimples I continue to have.

It does not work
Its basically a short term treament that may slightyl reduce redness but it defaintely wont get rid of your acne in the long term. Im on day 4 of the acne.org regimen. Lets hope it works out :)

This ultra cream is like water. Why did you change?
Very watery. The regular vanishing cream is so much better than this. No I can't find the regular at the stores. I'm going to have to find a new brand because clearasil changed.

Shipping takes forever
Im just commenting on the shipping time I havent tried the product yet. I ordered on 4/17 and didnt receive until 04/25. To come from California to Illinois the shipping could be better. I will be testing the regimen for 2 months. Will come back and update. 5/10/17 Ive been using the treatment now for about 20 days. So far I have seen a reduction in whiteheads, not much for clogged pores but I still have hope. I use the treatment day and night and always be sure to use spf in the morning. Im still on the hunt for a good mineral spf that doesnt leave a white cast since I am darker skinned. I do break out close to my under eyes however I try hard to not it close to my eye area because it can leave the skin raw, red and burning (been there done that). I will be adding the aha+ as a nightly moisturizer once I hit 30 days on the regimen to hopefully help with my hyper pigmentation issue.I do experience some dryness no flaking skin. Im hoping this regimen clears my skin and keeps it clear, I spend so much money on product. I will update again at 2 and a half months. 5/22/17 I'm not longer using this product since being prescribed Benzoyl peroxide and clyndimicyn gel from my derm. The combination of the two works alot better for me vs just BP alone. Since using ive seen a reduction in clogged pores and white heads. I've also seen my skin is alot less oily. My skin While on the acne.org BP I never had an issue with prolonged excessive dry skin. My skin dried out for about a week before it went back to normal. If you can get a prescription from a derm for treatment this does work just slowly. I also only have to use my BP/CLYND gel once a day so way more convenient and since I have insurance its alot cheaper than acne.org as well.

Works Well. Did not aggrevate my Acne.
Works well like other 2.5 benzoyl peroxide. What makes this product special is that it glides on the skin easily making the application a breeze. Secondly, it absorbs well and does not feel greasy. Lastly, it works well with using a moisturizer after it. This product did not have a purging effect on my skin. My acne just got better. but I would not say that it is what cured my acne. I would attribute I would say 30%.
May 7, 2017
What do you say attributed to the other 70%?

do you think other BP from other companies works as good?

Im disappointed
OMG i bought this package without the jojoba oil. I followed the instruction every single time of the way. My skin totally changed from bad to worse. My face started turning very dark. Im fair in colour but jesus i was scared and so was my friends and my entire family... I contacted acne.org concerning the issue and they advised i took a break from the regimen and start afresh, but that didn't help either. My face looked wrinkled for more than 6 weeks and even darker. I looked extremely horrible like OMG. So at this point i was disappointed and angry cos i had to travel to Africa looking like an ugly old lady, but I'm just 23. So i went to Africa and my face started changing. The wrinkles were straightening up and started getting oily face etc, but my face still looked 4 shades darker than my normal skin. Ever since i stopped using the regimen, my face is now getting better after almost a year. My face still breaks out a lot but i'll prefer that, than having horrific face using the regimen. I put in a lot of effort and money and communication with acne.org just for nothing and I'm very disappointed. I kind of want to try again and this time see where the mistake was but I'm not sure if i dare. I mean its my face and i present that to people before anything else...

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
