Please go back to the old formula
The old formula was so much better. I thought someone had played a joke on me by putting pool water in my facewash. The chlorine smell is not good.

unsure about the product
when i started using clearogen i got the one month three step system with the sulfur cream. At this time i was desperate for a quick fix as i was suffering from a major hormonal breakout. In the past i had suffered with mild to moderate acne vulgaris and had managed to treat it with over the counter creams and antibiotics. This breakout would not budge and got to the point that i had around 5 cysts on each cheek and several small pimples surrounding the cysts. I finished the 30 day trial and my skin was a lot better. I had around 10 small pimples on my face but for me that was the best my skin had looked in months and i was thrilled. My dermatologist them perscribed me with the benyzol peroxide cream and in the space of four days i had super irritated red cheeks with two cysts on one cheek and several dozen tiny bumps all over. It has been around a month since that initial breakout and my skin is relatively clear on one cheek but the other cheek still has a good 10 big pimples. I spoke to my dermatologist about the reaction as i received a chemical peel a week ago and she told me to start using the benyzol cream again. I am so nervous to try the product again as my acne has affected my mental health hugely. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Not my favourite
So sad they discontinued panoxyl 10% since this happened I've heard Acnecide has the same product so have started this now since my last tube of panoxyl ran out, sad times. I've been using it for around a month or two. Since using it i can't say that it has drastically changed my skin, but it's definitely caused small breakouts of these tiny annoying spots almost covering my forehead so rubbish! It really gets me down, they've appeared on other parts of my skin, also! My skin is super oily like I thought it was oily before but Jeez it's even worse now, anybody else had this problem ? And if so does it go? asking for some reassurance. Also is it best to apply it just at night or also in the morning ? As usually I only put the 10% on at night and I'd have to moisturise before hand using (simple) brand as my skins so sensitive! I feel like as it's a lower dose my skin may need it applied more than once? Maybe even not to moisturise so much? Thanks guys x

Don't like it! DONT USE
Personally I don't like this at all!! I have been trying in out for a few weeks and I have noticed my spots are getting worse the more I use it! They are becoming scars when they disappear and my face was so red the next day! Won't use this again!!

It's alright
It helped get rid of a few pimples, but other than that it was irritating and not very effective.

Yikes
I used it for 3 days only and the first time was ok but the second day i used it i noticed it started to burn a little but i ignored it. So the 3rd day i had it on and i was about to go in the pool but i didn't have time to take it off so i used water and a towel and when i got in the pool i noticed my skin was peeling and super dry. It's been 2days since i've stopped using this product and my skin is AWFUL. where ever i applied the treatment there are dry spots that are waiting to peel off. I regret spending a penny on this product.

Fresh Face.... who dis???
For anyone that knows me well, knows that it takes a whole lot for me to brag about ANYTHING!! But because I know what having acne does to a lot of people, I feel like I would be a selfish inconsiderate person to not share my amazing experience with acne.org. So first of all, my skin was always average... I always felt like I needed a little makeup to look "polished". In my early college years I experienced really bad acne. The only thing that helped me was roaccutane. As some of you may know, it was quite costly and has long term damages to your organs. Non the less, roaccutane gave me what I considered to be clear skin. About 5-7 years after stopping Roaccutane, my face made a U-turn for the worst. The acne came back and they came with a vengeance. I decided to try a skin peel. I went with a company in my hometown (Nassau Bahamas) because they had a history of success by their popular skin peeling services. Unfortunately it did not work for me. For you Caribbean persons reading this you would understand.... I looked like PANADO. I was embarrassed to even leave my house because my skin was horrible. My face looked like a roasted chicken. It was pink and the bumps were outrageous. I decided to give up on that company and try getting regular facials.... worst idea ever!!! My face had been the worst in my entire life. I became depressed and detached from everything. I would pack on the makeup just to go to the food store. I went from being confident about myself to feeling very insecure. THEN, I was sharing my frustration about my skin with one of my friends and she told me about her recent issues with acne. She said she found this amazing product online and it worked wonders for her.... maybe I should give it a try. I must say I was veryyyyy skeptical because so many things had been failing and my face only seemed to have been getting worst. After much thought I decided to give acne.org a try. For the first two weeks I was very doubtful because the benzoyl peroxide had really dried out my skin and made me appear to be burnt/ dark. But she told me that was apart of the process. Then I started noticing white heads on my face and I was traumatized because I mostly had black heads.... hardly any white heads. I continued the process and honestly I felt like once again I'm wasting my time, energy and money. Especially when I saw friends and family and their greeting was always "Whats going on with your face?' :-( Or to see strangers and you can see that they are looking at your face.... it was terrible. I traveled to South East Asia and I did not take one photo of myself because I hated the way my face was looking. Fast forward about 1.5 months after starting the regime, for the first time in about 10 years I have completely clear skin. Its almost like a miracle!!! The dry dark skin is gone, I have no breakouts and my face looks and feels amazing. I have now started recommending this product to my other friends that suffer from acne because this stuff truly works. If you are on the fence, get off now and give acne.org a try. Its a process but its well worth it.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
