Pros:

None. Did not see any results, all it did was dry my face even with a moisturizer.

Cons:

Expensive.
Does not work.
Waste of time & money.

Everything you see on TV is false advertisement. The celebrities get paid to say these things to get people to buy the product and I think it's so ridiculous. Shame on you, proactive.

Pros:

Well, I've been using Proactiv Solution for about two years now.. At first it was very very effective. All my pimples were reduced and my face became smooth.

Cons:

As I use the solution after 9 months, I noticed that Proactiv makes my skin really oily, and because of this I am not pimple free. And now, my face looks like worse than what I have before I use Proactiv.

I want to stop using it but I can't find any products that will replace what I am using right now. If maybe I can find time to visit any dermatologist that can help me with my problem. Proactiv works at first but as you use it, your face becomes more prone to acne just like what I'm experiencing now.

Pros:

Clears acne and keeps it from forming and returning.

Cons:

Makes skin dry and peels easy if used for to long Ex:{Washing face from more then 20-30 seconds}. The scent is a little over powering. Benzoyl Peroxide may be a little to high for people with sensitive skin.

Ok, I have used this product for about a week or two and I have noticed a more glow and break-outs were less common. Also, drys new break-outs fast and prevents them. Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser has a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Medication. Other products to use with cleanser are: Clean & Clear Dual-Action Moisturizer, to moisturize dry skin and calm it. Also has a 0.5% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment to treat exsiting acne and prevent it. Thats why its called Dual-Action. Does two jobs at once. Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10, this cream has a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide treatment to prevent, protect and heal. Drys pimples fast. Buy and use all three for maximum results!

Pros:

It worked!

Cons:

Three weeks for shipping is totally unreasonable! (and, it really takes that long!!) I could ride my bike to thier warehouse in Iowa in that amount of time. Because of the long wait, I ran out of the product and my breakouts returned!

DO NOT ORDER ON LINE OR FROM 1-800 NUMBER. Just buy it at the mall. It may be a few dollars more, but you won't have to pay shipping or wait 3 weeks for it to arrive!

Pros:

WORK GREAT. YOU SHOULD REAL TRY PROACTIV. IF YOUR ARE TEENAGE AND HAS ACNE ALL OVER BODY, THIS WILL WORK.

Cons:

I WOULD LIKE IF THEY WOULD NOT SEND THIS PRODUCT IF I'M NOT READY FOR IT.

IF YOU NEED HELP WITH ACNE, THEN THIS IS YOUR ANSWER.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Severely dries your face out, Leaves a chalky residue, Stains fabrics.

I tried this cream for 2 months every day and it did absolutely nothing. i saw no improvement whatsoever the whole time I used it. I've had clear skin most of my life and used this as a spot treatment every now and then when I would get breakouts and all it did was dry my face out and make it red. My skin isnt sensitive at all and not usually oily and it still dried me out very badly. I am currently trying Clean and Clear Persa Gel 10 and it seems to be working extremely well. I recommend that over this product any day.

Pros:

The only cream I have found that goes well under make up - so you can fight acne during the day aswell as the nightly routine (for those who wear makeup)

Cons:

Not the most effective but it does help with drying pimples.

I wouldn't recommend this treatment as your only treatment for your entire face however it is great for spot treatment under makeup

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
