16 Year Old Son.
We tried this product, It Does Not Work. Our Sons acne became two to three times worse over a two month period. This is my third post, the other two were deleted? I guess I mention something that R&F did not like?

I work for a cosmetic surgeon. He does not sell R&F, but I did learn something very important from him: when something causes you to break out after awhile, it’s working. Products have to break through the layers and push the funk out. When you see break outs happen after awhile, it’s because it is working. I started using a product my doctor sells. After about 6 weeks, I started breaking out like crazy. I was very vocal about my unhappiness. Two months later, my skin looked amazing. I now look back and wonder how many products I quit using because I thought “break outs” meant they were bad.

16 Year Old Son
We tried Unblemish for over two months and our 16 year sons acne became two or three times worse. The before use and during use photos were shocking! My son's face was completely covered after the two months. We heard the same thing, its purging, keep going it's working. While some may say it works, we feel that it caused more breakouts and completely out of control acne. When we talked to the consultant (a friend), we were told to stop using the product as recommended by their "Nurse". I think it is over priced and I suspect that it is a very highly commissioned product %100 or higher. This is the motivation to push this product.

Dissatisfied
I ordered this product after seeing great reviews. I followed the directions precisely; however, I'm very disappointed. I used this product only TWO days and my face reacted badly. My skin is extremely dry, itchy, irritated, and sensitive. I have small irritation bumps all over. I used minimal of the benzoyl, and even added the jojoba oil. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Dude that's normal, if you've never used BP before, you need to let your skin adjust to this new product that of course will make your skin dry and itchy. Once your skin adjusts you will start to see results. It even SAYS that on here before you buy it

Made my acne worse and resistant to products.
Prior to using the regimen, I had an all-natural skincare routine. My skin was crystal clear, except for a bunch of little whiteheads on my cheeks and occasional pimples along my hairline. I decided to buy this to clear up the whiteheads. During the first week, it broke my forehead out like CRAZY. It was gone by the next week, but my skin was insanely dry. I even tried to add jojoba oil to the moisturizer like the instructions said to, but my skin still had dry patches and felt dull and miserable. I continued to use this for about six-seven weeks, to which my skin worsened. I regret using this product so much. I stopped using it and my acne flared up, and I returned to my holistic routine. It's been about a month and my acne is more aggravated and red as ever. My skin is badly scarred and full of dark spots again. I'm so sad, it took me years to clear up my skin and now I'm back to where I started. I have oily-combo skin. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SYSTEM. It ruined my skin, ruined my confidence, and ruined my wallet as well.

Gave me the worst breakouts of my life
I have struggled with acne for five plus years and I wanted to try this regimen before I decided to go on accutane. I have tried a million and one prescriptions and other over the counter products (seriously not an overstatement) and I thought this might just work but sadly it didn't. I was on it for 2 months and had to stop because I had developed cysts around my chin that I had never had before. These breakouts were very painful, deep, and have left a ton of hyperpigmentation and some scars. My skin was horribly dry despite putting on 3+ pumps of moisturizer and 6 drops of jojoba oil. I wanted this to work so badly but my skin just did not react well to it. I have very oily, but easily reactive, sensitive skin for reference.

Working somewhat, HORRIBLE service tho
Was working somewhat. But horrible customer service. My order was delayed (November - December) so we called up to ask, you know, what the hell was going on. They said our subscription had been changed from 30 days to 90 days(even tho we did not request such a thing nor were we told this was going to happen) so we should expect it to be delivered on January 17th. Along comes Jan 17, nothing. It is Jan 22 now and we called up to ask again, what the hell is going on? They told us they were sorry but the order is to come in 21 days. By then, it will be February. My order has been delayed from November all the way to February and who knows, they might even screw up again. Obviously going to cancel once the order comes in as the payment has already gone and of we cancel they product won't be delivered. DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend this stress to be passed on to anyone.

WROST PRODUCT FOR MY TYPE OF FACE
OMG!! I wish I had never used this product! I followed instructions for over 2 months. I noticed my face started breaking out but I thought it was the way the product works, so I give it time! NEVER GOT BETTER!! I'm still regretting using it. I have a semi-dry skin. My acne is now located all around my Chin.

You should know that 2.5% does nothing
Ok so now from my experience, I can tell you that 2.5% Benzoyl does absolutely NOTHING for your skin. Like nada. IMO this product is nothing better than soap. It does nothign to help clear up your skin or to prevent new pimples from forming. I got suckered into this product years ago and really thought it would be a miracle because all those stars said it would work. Ummmm no not at all. This was the firs tof many many products I ended up trying and probably one of my least favorites.

This is an AWFUL product
I am extremely upset with this product. I used it for 3 nights on my chin and t zone as well as beside my nose. Washed my face this morning. Moisturized and put on my makeup as usual....I should have known better than to use a cheap drugstore brand , but was out of proactive spot treatment and it was late Long story short, midday my chin goes numb. We're talking it's so so numb it feels odd. I even panicked momentarily that my lip injections had slipped down my face. Lol. Well now I'm twice as numb a couple hours later and my entire chin is a bizarre red /pink /orange color. The surface of my skin where applied looks as if they were painted in a layer of clear paint and I am also starting to get tiny bumps on my chin. Not sure if I'm about To peel , breakout or if they're hives ! Needless to say I'm super frustrated. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! Use a different spot treatment.

Save yourself the torture and do not buy!!!
If you have sensitive, breakout prone skin do not buy! I bought the unblemish acne treatment sulfur wash, and it was a complete waste of money. After using this product for over 4 months my skin was in the worst shape it's ever been in! I continued to use the product for such a long time in hopes that it would eventually begin to work on my skin, however, I ended up just wasting my time. After about a week of switching to a drugstore face wash that costs less than $5 my skin began clearing up! My skin was no longer painfully dry, itchy or red. Do not waste your time or money on this product because it will only make your skin worse!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
