Pros:

THE ABSOLUTE BEST ACNE FACE WASH ON THE MARKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I feel like I have tried them all. Works especially well for those suffering from adult acne.

Cons:

NOTHING!!!

Starting at age 29, I developed severe adult acne. I never suffered from acne as a teenage so I was very shocked when this occured in my late twenties. I tried the dermo at first, and all the expensive chemical peels, etc. Then I tried almost all the natural acne pills various Internt site sell. Then I tried almost every acne product from Sephora. I was literally at my wits end, especially since in my profession I have to interact with clients all day long. In a total momment of desperation, I ran across Carley's and thought for the price it would not work (convinced I needed something super expensive), but to MY TOTALLY SHOCK AND SUPRISE Carley's cleaned my acne ridden face of more than year in about a month. I have been using this and ONLY this product rigilously since February of 2008. Now 2 years later, I would never dream of changing. My skin is perfectly clear, and I have recommended this product to countless friends. The price is unbeatable. You will NOT be disappointed. This product is the "secret" to battling adult acne!

Pros:

PRACTICALLY NOTHING;AT LEAST COULD GET $$ BACK

Cons:

EVERYTHING! PRODUCT, PRICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE

THIS IS SECOND TIME I TRIED PRODUCT, THINKING IT WAS ME.....BUT NO IT WASN'T. PRODUCT TOO STRONG FOR MY SKIN, CAUSED MORE OF AN RXN THAN THE ACNE ITSELF. WENT BACK TO HOLISTIC MEASURES!

Pros:

cleans face well. helps with MILD acne. smells nice. foam is awsome

Cons:

dries out skin. doesnt clear up acne by itself

i like using this stuff to take of make up but it totally dries out my skin. i think it used to work when i had mild acne though. and the instant foam is really cool cause you dont have to try and work it into a lather. and it last a long time. i would only recomend it if your using it with other things cause it doesnt work to clear up acne by itself

Pros:

Very strong.
Starts working within the first 5 uses.
Keeps skin fairly clear.
Affordable.

Cons:

Intense, expect drying.
Can bleach clothes, towels, etc.

Please buy this product if you haven't tried benzoyl peroxide at a 10% concentration before. This product has helped clear up my skin so much, about 90%! I didnt think any cleanser would really make a difference, but this one does. I have tried tens of products that all suck. Now i use cetaphil to take off my makeup and then use this to kill acne and it has been a great system for me so far. I have really oily skin so the drying isnt bad at all, if you dont have an oil problem invest in a good moisturizer before you try this product. Good luck! There is hope!

Pros:

I used biooil all over my face, which intially worked well, but the 2nd time it left me with small minute whiteheads and bumps all over my face, as well as teh acne that i suffer from. I used quinoderm after hearing great reviews, and it got rid of those and made the acne better too.It does get rid of spots quikcly and isnt overly drying. its very cheap! the cheapest acne product ive ever used, and is fairly effective.

Cons:

The only con is that after working well for a few days it actually broken me out on my forehead quite bad and one one side of my face weirdly! it was quite bad. So i stopped using it and started again and it has really helped with the spots again?? weird.

Its a good cream and did make my face look so much better the 1st time i used it, now im using it again for a a few days and its getting better again, but remmeber it did break my out quite bad too. I would definetly recommend this. Go and try this!

Pros:

Makes your skin really soft

Cons:

Toner breaks you out more, and dosent really clear acne at all

I bought this thinking it would clear my acne and at first it did but after a while it stopped working. the toner is terrible and only breaks you out more. the only thing i like about this is the lotion really makes your skin really smooth. iv been using it about 8 months and my acne is worse then when i started

Everything to gain, Nothing to lose. They will answer any questions that you may have. Products smell wonderful and it WORKS!!!!!!
THIS IS NO LIE, NO SCAM, THEY CAME UP WITH A MIRACLE PRODUCT. IT WAS A GOD SEND FOR ME!!!

Cons:

You can only purchase online

I'm a 30yr old African American woman. My acne became a problem when I graduated from college.I would get cystic acne around my jaw area & some on my cheeks.I also would get little white heads all over.I used so many products to treat it, prescription & non prescription that just irritated my skin.I found Carley's clear&smooth & was very skeptical b/c of all the great reviews.I decided to give it a try.The customer service is A+!They answered all of my questions promptly. As for the product, I followed the directions exactly, & I saw & felt a difference after the 1st use! These are the results that I experienced after 1-2 weeks: Tighter pores,Dark spots faded,Acne GONE COMPLETELY,Smoother skin,Improved clarity,Softness,No scaley/flakey/dry/tightness,Skin calmed,Healed.I have never in my life experienced a product like this. Not to mention, they gave me lots of samples, which led me to make another purchase of the mask, moisturizer, and foundation. They have a life long customer in me!

Pros:

Good price, very effective.

Cons:

First day of use, the spot gel made my face red. Rinsed it off. After a few days of applying once daily, it stopped irritating my face. Cleanser lasts a long time, but packaging leaks easily. Spot gel and moisturizer sizes are too small.

I used a lot of acne products that didn't make my acne go away at all. I used Clinique Acne Solutions for several months, and it made my bad acne (big red pimples all over, small pimples on forehead, with blackheads on nose) almost disappear, with the remaining pimples being very small. After less than 7 days of using Acne Free Sensitive, it made my already small pimples even tinier, almost invisible.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
