Didn't work and too much hassle

Pros:

none

Cons:

ineffective
too harsh on skin
bleaches fabric

It didn't work for me. Simple as that. It didn't clear my acne, it hurt my skin and also bleached my towels. What skin care system is so strong that it bleaches fabric? No thanks. Plus the whole "we'll send you more every 3 weeks" thing was a real pain.

Works great! Just a little dry
So far it has worked great! My acne ha slowly started to go away and I've noticed that right after I use the toner, it makes my face tighter and drys it out. Even after I use the repair lotion. So if you get dryness I would recommend using an ultra gentle oil free facial moisturizer. But over all, great product!!!

Product used: The Regimen
THANK GOD FOR THE REGIMEN

Pros:

It works quickly
It is affordable
No side effects

I have had acne since I was in my early teens. It was really bad then and left bad scars. My self esteem as anyone with acne can attest to took a hit and I was always self conscious when people looked at me. I a now 33 and still battle acne well that is until I came across The Regimen online. I have tried many products: proactive, Neutroegena, Clean and Clear and even went on birth control. I stopped the latter as I did not like the idea of ingesting pills even though it did help my skin. I have been on The Regimen for 4 months and 3 weeks and I noticed a difference right away. By the second week of my using it, my skin was clearing up already. And within a month my skin was clear. I have however noticed that in the last 3 weeks or so my skin is breaking out again and I think it may be because I added other products to my regimen. I am going to stop and see what happens. I DEFINITELY recommend The Regimen to anyone. It WORKS!!! And I thank God for it.

Don't buy this.

Cons:

Irritating, drying, stings like crazy, doesn't do anything for acne, caused redness

I was so hopeful that this product would work when I got it. Especially after the flashy commercials saying it was the "cure to acne." All it did was make my skin extremely red and irritated. It was extremely harsh and stung like crazy! After using it my skin felt dead. I'm so glad I no longer use this product.

It really works.
Ok this is not really a product review, long story short, it really works, as many other people mentioned here. What I really want to say is, shipping is the SLOWEST EVER! And it gets transferred to USPS which has the most unreliable service, I've lost several packages and people at USPS have no clue where they went, status is: status not updated. Means it's not stolen by random people. Now every time I have to cross my finger when I know my stuff will be delivered by USPS.

Product used: The Regimen
Worth every penny

Pros:

Easy to use
Works great when follow step by step
Best products ever

Cons:

Dry face when use too much BP
Mild peeling

I've had acne since age 12 and now I'm 21, for the first 3 years (when I was 12-15) all my face was covered with pimples it was severe acne until my diet changed and it became moderate. I have hormonal acne, pimples are mainly on my jaws and forehead and usually get worse when im on my period so for the past 9 years after trying almost every OTC my acne became mild/moderate. I was using my dermatologist regimen on (May 3- July 29 2013 )which were tretinoin cream 0.025%, clindamycin phosphate lotion 1 %, cerave gentle cleanser and Olay moisturizer, the doctor said it will get worse before it gets better and it did for the first month my face was dark, flaky, extremely dry, the pimples were huge and too painful to even wash my face so I had to discontinue because I no longer had insurance but my face was about 60% clear by the end of July. Mid August/september my face was all messed up again, pimples every where, dark spots, oily/dry combination skin, it was terrible so I decided to cross my fingers and buy acne.org regimen kit which I've heard about on YouTube, google but was skeptical to try it because of too many good reviews and the price, was I ignorant? I was, anyways I started using acne.org regimen on October 8th 2013 and it was the best decisions I've ever made, in 3 weeks I was about 50-60 % clear and now almost two months later im 100% clear. NOTES: I've only been using the benzoyl peroxide once a day at night, I only have a few dark spots left and ZERO pimples, I usually have 15-20 pimples around my period and I only had 3 tiny zits this month and in 2-3 days on my period they were gone. The downside for me was the dryness and flakiness but i only had to lower the amount of BP. I will start using the BP twice a day now and will add the AHA+ on my regimen next month. Also, I have to admit that I cheated, I use the products just as direct. However, when my face is flaky and dry I use lemon, sugar, honey scrub and scrub my face once a week which help me alot with the flakiness, I don't recommend it if you have sensitive skin but it works for me and I know its not recommended to do microdermabrasion/scrub because it will be too rough on the skin anyways I did it and it left my face smooth and get ride of the flakiness, my bad for breaking the rules but it was necessary so THANK YOU SO MUCH Dan for this regimen, you're my hero, I will continue to use the regimen to keep me clear and I will update if there is any changes.

DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT. THE GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE.
I've given this product a chance and used the whole bottle, but do not buy this!!! I read somewhere on this site that these good reviews are fake! I've used almost the whole bottle of this stuff... I used to have not so bad acne, and now my face is AWFUL! It irritates your skin so much and tells you to do exactly the opposite of the advice from the regimen. It tells you to scrub your skin with the product AND then with a washcloth.

HATE IT

Cons:

expensive
didn't work
irritated my skin

I had severe acne and decided to try the ever popular Proactiv. For people with sensitive and severe/moderate acne, stay away. I have nothing good to say about Proactiv. From day one, the toner burned my skin.. I felt like I was on FIRE! Ridiculous... Anyway, I stuck through it and six weeks later, no improvement. Not even in the slightest. Wasted my money.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
