HELP WITH FLAKY SKIN
I've been using acne.org for almost 2 months now and is really helping my acne. but my skin is crazy flaky, when i go out it looks like snow of my face, but their is a layer of dead scaly skin on my face. I started using aha and it didn't do much, then i started to get a few painful deep pimples unlike i have ever had before. i said enough is enough so i exfoliated. Should i keep exfoliating or should i just continue with aha because my skin is getting clogged under the dead layer lol thanks.

If your skin is getting dry/ flaky from the regimen you should definitely purchase the jojoba oil and mix it in with the moisturizer. I have dry skin and this has helped me 100%! My skin has improved way above expectation with the acne.org regimen and has become smooth & soft especially when using the jojoba oil

Excellent spot treatment for mild acne cases
TLDR: Excellent as a spot-treatment; may be too strong for regimen (esp. if you have sensitive skin). This product has been so reliable for me over the years though, I love catching blemishes early and zapping them overnight. Available at Shoppers' and probably other Canadian drugstores. FULL REVIEW: I've been lurking this site for years and let's just say I'm old enough to know I'm in for a lifetime of being prone to adult acne if I don't take care of my skin. Being oily AND sensitive, most of the run-of-the-mill products out there simply aren't for me, and only worsen matters. After much expense and experimentation, I learned that the hard way. Luckily, I've been able to stay clear with a modified version of the acne.org regimen. I could only get the 5% version of Benzagel locally, but one tiny tube has lasted me a very long time. I use it only as a spot treatment. Similar to the regimen's instructions, I let a small dot of gel soak in on the affected area before rubbing my preferred (gentle!) lotion in to protect my skin from irritation. A tiny speck is enough to reverse early-stage pimples overnight, or if an actual pimple manages to pop up before I can catch it, it shrivels it down so it will usually disappear within a day. (Again, a small amount extra lotion in treated areas helps prevent any irritation, otherwise redness can ensue. I prefer Cerave for PM and Cetaphil Dermacontrol w/ SPF for AM, personally.)

saved my confidence
Before I started on this regimen I tried a lot of stuff that didn't work. My confidence was terrible and I was always sorry for myself and tried to hide my face in public. It takes patience with this regimen but after 3 months my skin was fabulous and clear. I did though change the moisturiser to a more moisturising one and the cleanser because it ran out and the shipping to Denmark is quite expensive. I'm so thankfull for this regimen tho!!!

Best face wash I have ever used.
I have used this face wash for over 6 years. (maybe longer) I use it and Carley's soap. Do not use anything else on my face. It has help with Rosacea Redness and keeps the breakouts from happening. Had a teacher one time who had Rosaca real bad. Gave her a little of my face wash. Then she ordered some about a month later ask her how she like it. She said my face is saying THANK YOU. I am 59 and use no liquid make-up . People ask me what do I use on my face. I give samples . Best Face Wash I have ever used. THANK YOU Carley's Clear and Smooth

THANK YOU!!!
Mild "T-zone" acne my whole life. I've tried it all. THIS PRODUCT WORKS! It is affordable too! The bottles are a nice large size! I am just now buying my second cleanser and it is 4 months later. I still have plenty of BP & moisturizer. I started off washing/regimen 1-2 times every day as instructed. After about a month I started to only washing/regimen when i showered (ever other day). No bad side effects. I am outside a lot! The sun never bothered me. I only use the moisturizer when needed. it is not very often. I am so happy with this product! I have much more confidence. it's unbelievable! My husband, close friends, and family have commented on how good my skin looks! Do yourself a favor and try it! Follow the instructions too. i think that makes a big difference. After a while you will start to understand what your skin needs. Then you can apply in the way that works for you!

My skin has never looked better
I have mild-moderate adult acne and it made embarrassed to show my face a lot of the time. I've tried a whole variety of cleansers, treatments, and masks to clean up my acne and get rid of my scars, but nothing really worked. After reading a ton of reviews, I decided to try the Acne.org regime. I have been using the regime for close to a year now and my skin has never looked so clean, clear, and free of scars. For the first 6 months, I follow the protocol religiously: wash gently, pat dry, let my skin dry for 5 minutes between washing, treatment, and lotion, wash day and night, the whole shebang. It did take some a few weeks for my skin to acclimate to the new system, especially the benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid. Now, I am far more liberal with the protocol. I am back to scrubbing the skin a bit more, not timing when I put on the next step, and only washing once a day and my skin still looks amazing! Now, the only time I ever breakout is when I am under an unusually high amount of stress (grad school :/) or near the start of my menstrual system. I don't think I'll every use another system. Once I got comfortable with the regime, I put my own spin on it so that it fit my lifestyle. I typically only wash my face in the morning. After the cleanser, I put a light mixture of coconut oil and tee tree oil on my face (instead of the Jojoba oil they recommend), then I use the benzoyl peroxide treatment, then I mix a bit of tinted CC cream and the Acne.org lotion together to finish it off. I let some time pass between each step, but I don't time it. If I wash my face at night, I follow the same procedure, but instead of the final lotion, I use a mixture of the Acne.org lotion and the 10% glycolic acid. Also, I never use a full pump of anything, it's just way too much product for me, and I put everything all over my face and neck without any adverse reactions. I have never been happier with a skin care regime than I am now!

Thinking of quitting bp after two months.
I've been using this for almost 2months now.. all the whiteheads and blackheads are gone, but there're few cystic acne (big red bumps) started to appear on my face and it's hard to get rid of them although i used generous amount of bp(especially on my forehead).. After they disappear, another new big red bumps reappear. Urghhh so i have to pop it out after seeing its 'head' so it won't grow bigger and bigger. Bp is good for small bumps, but not for big red bumps.

This happened to me. Just keep doing the regimen. The regimen works and will clear your worst breakouts if you give it time. I took me about 5 months to clear my skin after my cystic acne was just left, but it is so worth it.Also, if you have an apple product there is an app that I used called mdacne (i think. if thats not it just search acne in the app store and something similar should come up). Anyways, it will motion you to pay for something but I just used the feature that tracked your skin and how it looks and it is so good for making you consious about what is going on with you skin and how you are treating it. And, when your skin finally clears, looking back at the old photos makes you feel amazing. Another thing I can recommend (if you arent already) is to buy the acne.org bp instead of using other store bought bp, this made a big difference in my skin. Keep pushing, the acne will go away if you give it time. I send you all my hope.

It works
I have mild-moderate acne (mostly hormonal) and have tried almost everything! I tried the regimen a few years ago but gave up after the first week when my skin started to get dry. After a few more years of frustration, I went in with the intention to stick it out and purchased a new kit. My skin WAS dry for the first 2 weeks but is now balancing out. I'm on week 3 and my acne has completely cleared up. I still have some bumps on my chin and red marks/scars, but all of my active acne is now gone. Now that my skin is clear, I've also found I've been able to stay clear with only nightly applications and occasional daytime applications (weekends, etc). I definitely recommend the AHA and a moisturizing oil (I've been using hemp seed oil instead of jojoba) to combat the extra dryness. Highly recommend. I will try to remember to update my review after a few more months.

Adore it- even great for ultra sensitive skin
I was Leary of trying any type of skin care regimen but I am so, so glad I did. I'm 24 and have always struggled with my skin (I have absurdly sensitive skin too) and after getting past the first week and a half of the acne.org regimen (skin was pretty red and itchy), I stuck with it and I cannot believe the results. My skin actually looks pretty! And I don't have to wake up guessing if I'll have a bad or good skin day! Love this and I will keep using it forever.

Helps with acne but dries your skin out like crazy
I have been using this for about a month and a half, once a day (after the acne.org cleanser). I started with small amount and gradually increased the dose. I tried using it twice a day after 2 week but my skin got very irritated and red so now i just use it once a day (at night) It works great with drying out acne but there is a lot of flaky skin around the perimeter of my face. I use the acne.org moisturizer but it doesn't seem to get rid of the flakiness caused by BP. But over all this is a great product if you use enough moisturizer.

no I have not tried it on the neck area, but from what I know i think that it will just get a little dry. (as long as you use the moisturizer it should be good.)

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
