After trying many different products I found Persa Gel 10 at Walmart and decided to get it. I have severe acne and this made a difference overnight. The next day all my pimples were smaller and less noticeable. After a few days most were completely gone. The only problem is it says to use it a few times a day, but is turns white when it dries so you can only use it at night. I did not have any problems with my face drying out.

Pros:

For me it started working the first day i used it. My sking was becoming to get clear within the 3 day.

Cons:

A slight burning sensation at first. Dries your sking.

Is an awesome product. I never had pimples until a few months ago, and when they came out it was really bad specially on my cheeks and my forehead. Once i started using proactiv, my skin became clearer since the first day i used it. Now i still get a few pimples from time to time but i just apply the refining mask and in a day or 2 gone =]

Pros:

Cleared my skin. I saw a difference overnight. It feels great. The cleanser is gentle and the day moisturizer feels really really soothing, clean, and refreshing. It keeps my skin from drying out but doesn't make it shiny. The BP is very powerful.

I'd recommend the product. I tried proactive before and it dried my face out too much. With this stuff, the cleanser is gentle. Then the day cream keeps my face from drying out and makes it feel nice and looking healthy. Then at night time the benzoyle peroxide makes the acne really go away, but doesn't hurt my skin. I really really like this product.

Pros:

cleared acne

Cons:

very dry face, some areas would be a little white due to dryness and i would have to over moisturize just to get rid of that. it smells disgusting!!!if i use the cleanser, facialmask then toner then lotion like it says in the book.omg burned my face!

try it out and see what it does for you, if you start it stick to it daily otherwise you don't get the true results. I've bought my second case of the three step i only do it because I've tried everything else even bought a box of acne free product it didn't do anything. this seems to due something for me. i cant stand even a little acne

Pros:

Just as the package says, it gives you clearer skin in 3 days. Large reduction in size, redness and overall notice of acne.

Cons:

Dries out skin, white color

I've tried many spot treatments and this one worked great except for the over drying. I had to stop using it after 2 days, but the acne was mostly gone by then. Overall great product, just don't use too often, SEVERELY dries out skin.

Pros:

Good for the first few days

Cons:

It caused lumps, which now just wont clear.
Do not use it. I only had just a few pimples and wanted to get rid of them, but all i succeeded in doing was making my face terrible. Now even my makeup wont cover it.

Don't use it if you dont have really bad acne

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
