Pros:

It's fast absorbing and doesn't sting or overly drying and definetly way better of a texture than most BP gel.

Cons:

I have none.

I just started using it recently and already my annoying pimples are stop dead in their tracks. They'e going away AND my skin isn't like sandpaper. I bought the whole system because I perfer products to be made by the SAME company.

Pros:

I have been using it for a day and i can already feel my skin improving (my skin has somewhat become tightened and a few pimples have dired up) I havent been using this product for long but think this just might work.IM HAPPY for now

Cons:

none(it sounds werid but its true) i guess its because i have used so many products before like glycolic pads and stuff that were really storng to my skin I also had GEl PEEl treatments.maybe thats why my skin is not getting iritated nor red

This product might just work.I like the first day results. (it might not work that much for people who have not yet exspose themselves to "hard-core" product, because they might be irritated or so .)

Pros:

It works! It's inexpensive, fast ship, prompt replies.

Cons:

Some might not like the smell. The bottle cap will get clogged after a while, but running with hot water and using paper clip clears it.

This is by far the best facial cleaner anti acne product! I've tried proactive, neutrogena stuff, clinique soaps, other anti bacterial soap, and not one of them worked! After years of searching effective product and fed up with paying premium, I searched ebay for an inexpensive alternative. It may take a month for me to see results, but it's a small time for long term great results. I'm so glad that I found this, I've been using it for 4 years, and it gives great results everytime. I don't know what you put in this magic lotion, it just works.

Pros:

I have tried eveyr product on the market, including prescription Diferin Gel for years, but this product really does the trick for me. It is pretty affordable, $7 a tube where I live, doesn't dry to harsh, and cleared up my acne 90% in 2 months time!

Cons:

BLEACHES AND STAINS FABRIC!! Be careful. As others on these boards have said, the high concentration of Benzoyl Peroxide in this product will bleach and ruin fabrics. One of my nice Polo shirts unfortunately was bleached after it touched my face.

I am 21 and have been on this site since I was about 16 years old struggling with acne. My dermatoligist always told me, "it's just a phase and you will grow out of it!". Well after having acne at the age of 21, I was getting angry and ditched my old routine of using Prescription Differin Gel at night and cetaphil moisturizer and face wash in the morning. I decided to try this product because it had Benzoyl Peroxide, which the owner of this website seems to love. I had pretty moderate acne, not severe with cysts, but definitely not light mild acne. I would get about 10 whiteheads and many bumps on my face consistently and it was frustrating. After using this product for 2 months, it has cleared my acne about 90% and I have noticed great improvement. I definitely reccomend this product. It has worked wonders for me over the past 2 months. It has not cleared up my acne 100%, but definitely about 90% is gone and it has worked great. I just hope it continues to work we

Pros:

Clears up skin, fast. Excellent at preventing breakouts. Leaves your skin looking very even, healthy, and smooth.

Cons:

Expensive. Can occasionally burn VERY badly.

I used to have severe acne, all types of it, and we all know how humiliating it is, I don't even need to explain. ProActiv Solution cleared it up in just about a week and I noticed VISIBLE improvement even after the first 24 hours. Pimples were less pink, and had dried out/gone down in height. Something weird - the Green Tea moisturizer I got as a free gift began to burn my face badly after applying it for about a month. I'm not sure why. On a final note though, ProActiv WORKS, at least in my experience, and it works fast. No, you wont wake up Acne Free while using the basic 3 step system, but you can expect it to clear up fast, and leave your skin looking and feeling healthy, beautiful, and soft. I've also heard about a wash called "AcneFree", which has the same exact ingredients, and washes as ProActiv, for about $18 at WallMart. ****STICK TO YOUR ROUTINE!!!!****

Pros:

you can get it at Walmart fo $14.

Cons:

The face wash doesn't have enough granules in it to exfoliate well. The acne lotion made my face EXTREMELY greasy.

The manufactures of this product claim that it works better than Proactiv. I used Acne Free for 4 months, then decided to spend the extra money on Proactiv. Proactiv works MUCH better, smells better, and feels better than Acne Free. It takes about 2 weeks to see significant results, but much worth the wait, and money. Be sure to use a non-comedogenic, oil free moisturizer after the repairing lotion or your skin will get dry and produce more sebum (oil).

Pros:

Definitely works, and gets rid of acne and keeps it from coming back.

Cons:

Still leaves me with tons of white and black heads.
You break out if you stop using it.
Way too expensive with shipping costs and all. Yes its worth it, but i really wish they could make shipping cost more reasonable.

I started using this about a year ago, after trying every other choice I had. Clearasil, neutrogena, etc etc etc. I even at once got some prescription face wash and cream, which dried my skin to the point where it was peeling off, yes looked horrible. Started using this, first couple weeks it sucked but then I started seeing results. And it really cleared my skin, no acne except little stubborn ones here and there. I still do seem to get alot of white and black heads. Thats the only thing that bothers me.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
