Pros:

It dries out the skin (Good because it doesnt allow oil to produce in your pores) I noticed results the very next day and i was astonished! Me and my mom use it and it tends to work very well with our skin and yes we have sensitive skin.

Cons:

It causes redness at first but again, this is what its suppost to do. why doesnt anyone read the back anymore? Also gets annoying taking it twice a day.

Okay, well let me tell you all out there that say that it dries up your skin.. it is SUPPOST to do that. You see, It dries out your skin, which doesnt allow oil to produce from your pores. and the oil is what makes acne.

Pros:

I used proactive for one year - 9 years ago and even after stopping it, I haven't broken out. Maybe a pimple here and there but that's it. My friends are so jealous of my skin. I used to get picked on from my acne! It's so worth it!

Cons:

There's a lot of steps. I wish it was all in one bottle.

Pros:

Very effective! Cleared my acne up completely

Cons:

First time I used it had red/flaky skin for about 2 weeks!

I tried different acne products but never got rid of my acne, until I discovered panoxyl acnegel (alcohol based), its very effective in clearing up my spots! I bought quinoderm 10% gel and have used it in the past 2 weeks but noticed my spots coming back so definitly switching back to panoxyl as this was the best solution for me!

Pros:

Face feels fresh and clean after use.

Cons:

Dried out my skin slightly and made my forehead and nose look shiney afterwards...

Used this product until I ran out of it... did not notice a change in my acne. Because of this, I would not purchase it again.

Pros:

No strong fragrance, Does not make your face feel full of products, makes skin feel much cleaner, got rid of the majority of my acne.

Cons:

A little expensive

Since I have only been using this product for a week, I'm not really sure how well it is working for sure. So far though, my face is less oily and a majority of my smaller pimples are gone. Since starting the system last Thursday night, I have had a few of my smaller pimples break out into larger ones, but they seem to go away pretty quickly. I think this is probably just what is going to happen for the first couple of weeks while my face is being cleaned out. (: I would recommend buying the trial size pack first...this way you don't spend a ton of money on a product that may not work for you. :)

Pros:

I'm 25 years old and had bad acne on my arms. This gets rid of acne by drying out the spot, i would say this is the best treatment around! i have used every type of product thrown at me and this is by far the best and it works!

Cons:

It does dry out the skin and will make it flake a bit but is nothing that bad, i did not feel any pain or burns from this product at all though i did use it on my arm have not tried it on the face.

Its cheap to buy only cost me £3.55 at [link removed] but don't let the cheap price fool you this is the best product out there for getting rid of acne. I have tried loads of products on the market and not one did anything for me but with Panoxyl 10 gel this really did work for me. This dried out the spots on my arm and has killed them off. On new spots which were red this dried them out in just a few days and before you know it the spot is gone and you can't see it anymore, on the others which i picked (yes i know its the worst thing to do) it healed them up but left a scab on them and is still a bit red after a week but its going down, they were big though. As for acne scars no this wont get rid of them like some say, i have old white ones and some red under the skin and this did nothing. Try bio oil for scars after some months loads of people have said it works i am still using it for mine and yes it is slowly working. Overall if you want a fast acting treatment for acne get this

Pros:

Proactiv clears up my skin within 2 days of use, and makes my skin smoother. The refining mask is great for getting rid of pimples over night.

Cons:

If you stop using it, you will most likely break out. I also think it is a little too high in cost.

If you can afford it and you need to get rid of your acne, give Proactiv a try!

Pros:

Clears face starting right away (most of my pimples were gone in the morning after using it the first time).

Cons:

Steps 2 and 3 are pretty irritating.

Use the cleanser (Step 1), but no others, especially if you have sensitive skin. Also, make sure to use a moisturizer! Not the one in the kit, a real one. Your skin will clear up, feel soft, and be bright.

Pros:

-Clears up pimples
-Makes the "under the skin" pimples hurt less
-Works fast

Cons:

-A bit drying

Defiantly worth it! I have very, very light acne, so I used the Persa Gel 5 (couldn't find the review page for that.....:(...) and it works beautifully. I cleared up all of the clogged pores, and even got rid of the doozy on my nose within 3 day@

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
