Pros:

At first, it immediately cleared my skin and brought out a beautiful new complexion

Cons:

Inconsistent. It's been a few years now, and I'm starting to break out again and am considering switching

I have been a hardcore believer in Proactive for at least 2 years now, and was shocked to hear that people found that the product didn't work. But recently I have decided to go off birth control, and unfortunately my breakouts have reappeared. Which of course makes me think that proactive wasn't what was clearing my skin! It's been months with the same areas broken out, without any change. After some research, I've recently decided to switch to another brand. I hate to say this, but Proactive wasn't worth the price tag to me.

Pros:

clears up acne

Cons:

if you leave it on too long, your skin will turn red and peel

I used to use this product, but had to stop..but then I got the sensitive skin one and it seems to be working. JUST DONT LEAVE IT ON TOO LONG. ONLY scrub, then RIGHT AWAY rinse off!! That is whyt people are complaining, YOU ARENT SUPPOSED TO LEAVE IT ON FOREVER :) ONLY for scrubbing then rinse right off :D I know from experience!

It worked great. I seen results in a few months!I had really bad under the skin pimples on my chin and nothing worked so I tried proavtive. I don't know how it did it but it cleared all those lil pimples!! It doesn't dry up my skin at all. I hardly h

Cons:

The only I would reccomend is to buy it at the mall or where ever u can find it! I USE to get it shipped but my supply lasted longer then it was suppose to so I was paying too much for more I didn't need. Now I wait till I run out and buy it which is

Proactive works if u use it right! U have to wash ur face with the cleanser for a good 2 mins. I put more time in my problem areas and it worked!

Pros:

It Works
Some have complained about shipping cost. Its $8 per order, my last package had a $9.85 label on it so I would say shipping is bargain. I always receive it in 2 days.

Cons:

None

1st time I used it my skin was very noticeably smoother. I used it daily as recommended and after a couple weeks I wasn't sure if I was seeing results. Then I stopped using it for 2 days and I could see and feel acne starting again. I used the product again and my acne cleared up rather than exploding. This is when I realized this actually was working and I've been using it daily every since. My skin is not perfect but this easily prevents more than 90% of the acne I would normally have and I am reminded of that every time I miss a day of using it. Check my ebay feedback, Bubba0214j You will see I have been a repeat customer for 6 years. I usually order 2 bottles about every 2-3 months (I am sure you can make it last longer but I unnecessarily pour it on). So I am spending about $20 a month for clear skin. Not to mention that they always include free soap and samples of their other products (all fantastic). I dont usually write reviews but this warrants it, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Pros:

Great consistency, quality, cost effectiveness, and results. Dan's BP is the best BP on the market, in my opinion.

Cons:

The only drawback I can even come up with is being limited to buying the product online, and having to pay shipping. Shipping to my location (FL) is nearly half the cost of the item itself. As for the product itself, I don't think there are any cons.

I've had moderate acne for years, 13 to be exact. Unlike most, however, I haven't used anything for it other than SA or BP. I'd resorted to spot treating with 10% BP and hoping for the best. Obviously, that really never worked. I came across this site about 3 years ago and ordered the BP, followed the regimen, and my skin was perfectly clear within 3 weeks, for the first time in my life. I've used Dan's BP every day since then, and found that by applying it morning and night, I don't have to use the super thick layer like I did at first, but my skin still responds to it just as well. I still do have breakouts around my cycle, but they are nowhere near as severe as they were without this BP, and I enjoy clear skin the rest of the time. I do wear makeup, but I have found that by applying it under my makeup, it helps keeps my skin clear. For any of you ladies wearing makeup, give it a try. I also use Dan's moisturizer and jojoba oil, mixed, for moisturization, and the cleanser. Perfect!

Pros:

It smelled good and it was easy to pump but thats it

Cons:

It is so harsh on my fash it made it ten times worse than it was before makes your skin feel dry red and it feels like it tightens your skin

DONT GET IT!! ITS A WASTE OF MONEY and it only makes the problem worse What i recommend for extremely sensitive skin like mine is homemade remedies, with natural products that are easy to find in the kitchen and actually work plus u dont have to pay for it

Pros:

Gets rid of acne on the spot! If you use it everyday your almost guarenteed not to ever get a pimple.

Cons:

Leaves your skin dry for the first few times you use it.

It work so good and is a life saver! I suggest not to use it if you have really sensitive skin tough because this stuff is hardcore!

Pros:

The cleansing wash feels really good because it is an exfoliant. The lotion feels pretty gritty but it didn't really dry out my skin, but if it does I have a mouisturizer to use. I only have used it for 2 days but its already seeming to work :)

Cons:

The lotion could be better...And you run out of toner pretty fast.

I used severe treatment and it works like a charm on small zits/whitheads that i have. After you put on the lotion, the little problem areas/zits itch and i really want to touch it but i read up and it says that it will make it wose. bottom line: this product actually WORKS and i have used everything on the market. I was doubtful at first but now im glad because it works :)

Pros:

Affordable, and REALLY WORKS

Cons:

none

After being on Epiduo, Antibiotic (Doryx), and Spiro for 2 months and seeing less that stellar results on my cyst like acne, after a week of using Clearasil Ultra, my big pimples had significantly reduced in size and redness! Didn't dry my skin out too much, but it does sting a little when you first apply it. But the very mild uncomfortableness is completely tolerable for the kind of results I got! Will definitely keep using this product

Pros:

It will heal your skin if you break out in acne. You can use the hand soap as shampoo also. I guess that can save money over time compared to other products on the market.

Cons:

Nothing ever stops the acne from coming back. I have not found a product that does. I thought this would be the last product I would ever have to use.

It does its job to clear up the inflammation, I had this issue since early childhood and now as an adult. I have been using this product for 6+ years, Its does not burn like others and within a few days you can see the difference. This may work better for others. It may be my diet which I am trying to eat with a better lifestyle in mind. I will continue to use this product even with its set backs.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
