Pros:

It works GREAT! I've tried everything else, even Proactive didn't work for me. My pimples, blemishes, and the redness were GREATLY reduced as soon as I used it!

Cons:

Just a little bit of dry skin but I only use it once daily, and it doesn't irritate my skin as much as other products I've used.

I would never switch to anything else! I work at a greasy fast-food restaurant everyday, and when I come home my face feels like a vat of grease, so I HAVE to use PanOxyl. I also use it before I put on make-up and PanOxyl has helped SO MUCH at reducing the puffyness and redness of my face beforehand, so I feel great about myself whenever I go out! Even the dermatologist didn't give me anything that WORKED SO WELL!

Pros:

I'm using Acne Free sensitive for about 6 days. And it's really working for me! I love that it doesn't make my pimples irritated and my pimple marks red. I also like that the lotion has 15 SPF. So, I use it in the morning without sunscreen.

Cons:

None!

AcneFree IS better than Proactiv! I love it!

Pros:

Available at local stores so I don't have to pay for shipping fees

Cons:

This product did not clear my acne I used it exactly as the directions said and It did not work at all it just dried out my skin. Didn't clear current acne and most certainly did not prevent new acne.

Don't waste your time or money on this product...It doesn't work!

Pros:

it makes yours skin nice and smooth, .people def see a diff

Cons:

I could not use the 3 step system, I used the 5 step system
Cleanser, Daily Oil Control, Toner, Lotion and Moist.
I also used the Mask 3 times a week,

When I started using Proactiv Solution, I got more pimples, that's because the system is cleaning all the dirt and removing all the dead skin from your face. It takes about 60 days for your to entirely clear up. And also what is good for the skin, you can not wear cheap makeup. I don't use Proactiv Makeup, I use another brand of makeup and my skin is flawless.

Pros:

It cleares out your acne.
makes your skin smooth.

I had used Proactiv once. When my blemishes dissapeared I stopped using it and 2-years later I had to come back to Proactiv. This stuff really works!! my acne came back a little bit stronger but I have been using Proactiv for 5 days and you can already see the difference. I love it!!

Pros:

Very affordable and lasts much longer than popular acne treatments. You get 4x the amount for your dollar.

Cons:

None. I will say that for the users who are breaking out more in the beginning, the same did happen to me, and I fixed that by using a 2 1/2% benzol peroxide treatment before their moisturizer. Worked Perfectly!

The products are natural without all the synthetic chemicals! My face has NEVER been better. This summer was the first time that I was able to swim in the pool without worrying that my makeup would wash off and reveal my acne! I have used it for over a year now and would never be without it. I used to rely on my mineral makeup for that healthy glow, and now after using this....I have it naturally! The customer service is second to none and the money back guarantee leaves you with nothing to lose! Shipping is lightning fast and you get a ton of free samples with every order! Thank You Steve, for bringing these wonderful products, and for giving me my life back! (Acne sufferer for 19 years and finally clear!)

Pros:

Works very well on my skin - have been acne free for 2 months using Proactiv. Does leave forehead a little shiny but that's a price I'll gladly pay. I think the sulfur mask is too drying unless you limit its use to once per week.

Cons:

Expensive and does not last as long as it is supposed to. You don't need much but there is no way a 4 oz. bottle will last for 8 weeks - its more like 4 weeks.

Proactiv works much better than OTC products. My skin tended to break out when it was cold from being over dried - the Proactiv tonerr really helps my skin stay hydrated without having to resort to greasy lotions that just make breakouts worse. I tried Murad first and must say that Proactiv worked much, much better for me.

Pros:

acne was minimized dramatically! my skin is soft. i had the under the skin pimples that hurt REALLY bad and the regular ones.
this took care of it. (:

Cons:

i haven't seen any yet.

i used nuetrogena stress free foaming cleasner and it screwed my face up. it was all dry and cracked and it burned. I put baby lotion on it to help, after i had put the baby lotion on it to help the dryness i had tonssss of pimples. so i used oxy :D it cleared them up right away.

Pros:

dries out the pimples, seems to really work! Works better than other benzoyl peroxide brands ive tried in the past..planning to buy another tube tommorow or really soon since im running out.

Cons:

can get too drying, esp allergic reactions on eye area..so try to keep it away from eyes and wash hands immediately after use.

Want clear skin? Try it...it may dry you up alot but its better than having nasty red bumps continuously forming. Just put on moistorizer 15min after putting on the ZAP Zyt

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
