Pros:

Pimples dry up a lot faster.

Cons:

Bleaches your bedsheets, if you have dark colored sheets, it will turn yellow in a few days. Face looks greasy all day when you put it on. Smells like crap, and don't let anyone kiss you on the cheek.

I guess it works for some people, but not me.

Pros:

Bought it from eBay the scrub, the soap and the lotion. Great price and fast shipping. Less acne than before worth a try when it's all natural.

Cons:

Don't help with the hormone acne, cos I'm a girl and every month of that periode it would not help at all.

I never heard of this "brand" before i checked eBay out for some months ago. And I thought it's all natural+super great feedback, then i gave it a try. The package came really fast to Norway. Great package and soooo many free items, like samples. They really cared about the pakaged, packed really good and carefully. I'm impressed with that. I started to use it right away, throwed everything else in to a garbage. After 2 weeks, i noticed it. My acne on the cheeks were gone (and still don't have it now either :D) But I have some diffeculty with acne around my mouth area, and I'm aware that it's because of my hormones. So I guess this is NOT THE ONLY SOLUTION TO A BETTER SKIN! So i think i have to try out supplyment (naturally ofcourse), because it's the only way, or zinc. somthing like that, but anyway this is impress. The soap and dryed my skin a little, but the scrub and lotion was so moizturied. Hightly recommended! PS: i have sensitive skin and mostly dry.

Pros:

Much lower cost than Proactiv, and for me it has worked ten times better! I began using it about 4 months ago and haven't had a breakout since. My face has retained a healthy, polished look, and my acne scars are beginning to fade nicely. I love it!

Cons:

When you first begin using the product, it burns quite a bit and your skin will peel a lot. However, after about a month this stopped and now I can't even feel it when I use it. Sometimes the cleanser has a hard time getting out of the bottle.

Everyone has different skin, and for me this product has worked wonders. I used to have rather sever acne, but now my skin is looking healthy for the first time since I was 12 (I'm 20 now). I would suggest that everyone give it a try, since it does not cost as much as most other systems.

Pros:

- Zapped away the bloody zits into oblivion!
- Speedy delivery

Cons:

- Took 3 full months before it totally worked
- Dries skin out/makes skin red at first, but that's where moisturizers come in

I've been using the product for 4 months strong now. Basically, the first week I felt my skin feel incredible albeit very tight & flaky. From week 2 or 3 onwards I began having horrendous breakouts, which scarred my confidence for life (heck I even skipped lectures or meetings if I had too large a cyst!) But after exactly 3 months of consistent (ok maybe I skipped a day or 2 coz I dozed off) my skin feels so clear I can't believe it's my skin. Althou the bloody scars linger on to remind me of my agony, still Dan's BP & website is the best thing since, well, BP! You just have to be patient & consistent with it. Believe me, with time it WILL work, if I quit b4 I'd still be miserable & paying tons on various products. Thanks Dan!

Pros:

Gets rid of most acne

Cons:

expensive, really harsh, dries skin out

i've been using proactiv for awhile now, and it cleared up all the little bumps on my forehead which no other cleanser could do. my skin isn't sensitive, but i started to peel the first few weeks i used this and because this is a scrub, it is more harsh. i still get occasional breakouts, maybe once or twice a month. it's pretty good, but definately not as good as the infomercial says (of course)

Pros:

Results are noticed immedietley within a few days.

Cons:

You have to use it atleast twice a day for anyone who really has bad acne.

The first few months of using Proactive you really do notice a big difference. After about 4 months into using the product regularly it doesn't seem to work anymore. Acne seems to apear again, possibly not as bad as before, but it just doesn't seem to do anything anymore.

Pros:

It got rid of some pimples on my chin

Cons:

It totally dried my skin and made it flaky. After I used it my skin stung and hurt so bad and my whole face was red as if I had a sunburn.

I've only been using if for a week or so but the side effects have been horrible. I dont know if I should continue using it or not. Will my skin eventually get used to it?

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
