Pros:

It comes in a cool container.

Cons:

Everything about it.

I had a terrible break out due to like hormones or something, I never had acne before june. RIght around then I switched from my normal clinique skin care to acne free. the regular acne free did nothing at all. Then I moved to acne free sever. the irretation came down but within a week the acne I had sort of went under the skin really deep and multiplied. then those erupted and my face was way worse. everyday the got drier, more tender, and bigger. I did everything I could think of to fight the infection, but this product did nothing from june to august 19th. Finnaly I took it back and spent 7 bucks on NOXEMA and WITCH HAZEL, it is cheap refershing and works really quickly!! POOF acne was gone and my life goes on. Don't use acne free it sucks and is full of cheap ass chemicals. Universal medical uses the cheapest form of benzoyl peroxide. Even equate spends more money on their chemistry. Seriously NOXEMA works!!! I am totally clear now!!!!!

Pros:

EVERYTHING!!! Products, price, customer service, speed of shipping, tons of samples!!!

Cons:

NONE!!!

I LOVE these products!!! This is my second order of cleansers. I still have plenty of face lotions (a little goes a long way!). I also LOVE the body lotion, so am ordering the large size. Words cannot describe how wonderful the soap is. It truly is addictive. It's like washing with a bar of satin. I had to quit washing my face in the morning because everything dried it out too much. With these products I am now back to washing morning and night with absolutely no dryness and VERY smooth, soft skin. I will be buying these wonderful products for the rest of my life!!

Pros:

Saw results quickly, for me the toner (step 2)is great, my skin seems to heal quicker

Cons:

The results I saw were best on regions with no acne and not as much as I hoped for the acne. Had to cut back on frequency due to irritation and eventually cut out the foaming soap (step 1), needed an extra moisturizer. Doesn't reduce redness

In my teens I had mild to moderate breakout (as expected). Now I have adult acne (jawline/neck). I saw reviews on here an decided to try it. Within 2-3 days my non-irritated skin was positively radiant. The breakout area was noticeably better. It minimized the swelling/bumps, and the zits I got seemed to be more superficial (forming pustules instead on nodules) and seemed to heal 2-3 times faster than normal. I have sensitive skin, so after a some irritation I cut down to once a day but while less severe, it persisted. After trial & error I now skip the foam (step 1), use the toner(step 2) every other day or so and use the BP lotion (step 3) twice daily. Overall things are better, but I still breakout, but it is less severe. I use is the Clinique Superdefense for combo to oily skin(not part of the kit, but is awesome) fixes any dry spots I get now. This has been a mixed bag for me. Several, but not all individual products work quite well; however the combo doesn't jive with my skin.

Pros:

This stuff really works. No irritation because of being mild. I showed improvements in 2 days. It doesn't flake.

Cons:

the price for such a small amount but is worth it.

This is good and it works great. I have used it for about 3 weeks and my acne was sooo bad. On my way to the best skin ever.

Pros:

It cleared up all pimples. Worked even better after a facial and cleared up almost all my blackheads. After a years use i do have significantly clearer skin with only two scars (from me squeezing the blackheads.)

Cons:

Didn't clear up blackheads until i got the facial done.

I had moderate acne on the sides of my face, forehead, and sometime on my cheeks. I also have an extremely oily t-zone. I was using this product only once a day and noticed a difference in my skin. However, after i got a facial done and began to use this product twice a day, my skin looks amazing. I have NO pimples and just a few blackheads on my nose(its usually greasy). Also, I've noticed a significant reduction in the oil production on my face. I do recommend getting a facial at least once every three months. If you have very oily skin like me, wash your face twice a day and get some oil blotting sheets to blot excess oils throughout the day. I think this product is great, but remember that consistency is what makes any product actually work.

Pros:

Works!

Cons:

Dries out your skin, but only if you slather it on. All BP bleaches stuff :(

This was cheap (it goes on sale for less than $4 sometimes) and works well. It drys my skin out when I put it on by itself like you are supposed to, but I mix a pea-sized amount in with my moisturizer and it seems to work just as well and doesn't make my face feel like it's made of stone. The biggest downside is remembering to use a white towel after I wash it off my hands because it WILL bleach towels and clothes, even after it has been soaped off. I have tried a bunch of expensive stuff and this is just as good if not better. If creams/lotions/gels never do anything for you it's time to go on oral meds anyway (Your skin is always clearer even after you stop taking them, at least in my experience). Minocycline worked for me and Accutane for my BF.

Pros:

THEE BEST Benzoyl Peroxide treatment (lotion) out there. Tops. Trust me. Leaves skin soft - and does NOT dry your skin out.

Cons:

May itch just a bit when it tries on your skin - but it's because of the gel-consistancy. Once skin completely dries (and let it do it on it's own) skin is completely soft.

Here I am again :) Okay - if you are hesitating at all with the Daniel Kern products - buy this. If you are even on a DIFFERENT acne treatment (like Clean and Clear) please - USE THIS as your Benzoyl Peroxide lotion. Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that has worked for me to clear acne. Salicylic acid does not work for me - it makes me break out horribly. Almost the complete opposite of Benzoyl. If you ever go shopping for an acne treatment lotion - you'll see that Benzoyl Peroxide is VERY hard to find in large quantities. This product is GREAT and a RARE find for the price. I was on Proactive for 5 years - and their lotion has the same Benzoyl but for WAY more expensive - and you get 4 times LESS. Please - save your money!! It even works BETTER. This Benzoyl does NOT dry your skin out - the gel formula in this product works differently than Proactiv - I am completely amazed. Please try this - you will save a TON of money - just try it!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
