Good day,

I just started the regimen and would love to ask.

so i know that the first week, you only apply the BP once per day and just a pea size.

Please help with week two.

I know you have to now apply twice per day at this stage but do you increase the BP or it must still be pea size but twice a day?

Ineffective
A year ago I tried this product and it seemed trust worthy , with all the commercials I seen and positive reviews . Well I would say I have mild acne , once I started to use the product I didn't even see a slight difference until months later . It wasn't anything that was life changing that made my skin look great but my skin cleared a little bit . About a month later I decided to stop using proactive because it did nothing to change my skin at all , once I did my acne started to get worse back to the way it used to be . And I would always use other face washes , and nothing seemed to help . So from using proactive I'd say since I stopped using it it made my skin worse than it already was .

Works Very Well
I am a 24 year old female and have been dealing with moderate, extremely persistent acne on and off for about 10 years. I have been on five rounds of Accutane which all helped for awhile but the acne would come back. After countless OTC products and other prescriptions/oral medications, I finally decided to try the acne.org regimen. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and trying to decide if it was something I wanted to use. I was hesitant as I live in Canada and knew that the shipping would be expensive. However, about two and a half months ago I decided to order the starter kit. I have been using it faithfully and diligently 2x per day as directed and my skin is now completely clear. It took about 5-6 weeks until my skin really became clear and the breakouts stopped. I have now been able to drop down to just one pump of the BP instead of a full two pumps as I was getting quite irritated from it. I really like this system for its acne-clearing performance- it really works well if you stick to it. I do find that my skin is still very dry and can become irritated on and off, and I will just adjust the routine accordingly. I have never written a review but promised myself that I would if this actually worked- all these reviews helped me decide if I should use the acne.org products and I hope that my review can do the same for you!

Bumps
Is it also good for bumps on forehead and cheeks?Cause I'm having a doubt to use it for my bumps, I used nizoral for my bumps on face but it didn't work, so I assumed that it is not a yeast infection. I think it's a clogged pores, cause its kinda group of bumpy skin like whiteheads . Please help!

Best benzoyl peroxide treatment
I have literally tried everything from store bought products, online products, natural treatments you name it I've probably tried it. I'm 31 now and about 6 years ago my face broke out with a million little white puss filled pimples all over my face and neck and it was super red and so embarrassing. I was so so depressed and giving up hope until I came across acne.org products and they literally saved my skin and it's totally clear now and I've been using this stuff and the cleanser for several years now. I stopped using it for a bit thinking well now my skins clear so I can stop using it now but then my periods would come around and BOOM break out again so I started ordering the cleanser and treatment again and now even on my period my face stays pretty darn clear I might get 1 or 2 pimples but that's it. So if you have tried everything like I had and nothing has worked then I say definitely try this and it will make you break out at first a bit more because it's bringing the ick to the surface but DONT STOP USING IT because it will start to clear up as long as you follow the directions exactly to the tee moisturizer too because it does dry out your skin at first the treatment does but just keep doing the regimen. Thank you acne.org !!!!

Didn't work
This dried my skin out badly and even so I still got new spots. Persevered for a couple of months but it made my skin too sore and made absolutely no difference to my acne. Gave up.

Acne at 30
After getting acne on and off through my teens and 20s it came back after having a baby with a vengeance. I find different ways to get it under control all help and this product is a part of the solution. For me it's so hard NOT to touch my face so I try really hard, my routine is in the evening I double wash off my makeup with a good cleanser neutrogena had one that removed eye makeup too, then I dry my face, I apply a thin layer of 5% gel all over except eye area, sometimes I use a thicker spot on problem pimples, then the key is let it dry, then apply a generous amount of moisturiser I use cetaphil face muisturiser which I love. I wash my hands thoroughly and then apply eye cream and lip cream to keep those soft areas moist. In the morning I use St Ives apricot scrub on my face and neck and then I follow the routine from above with the gel, let it try, then moisturise. I always apply a really high quality spf sunscreen during the day before I apply my makeup, mid 20s and up I found I started to get some pigmentation and then pregnancy hormones made it worse so because the gel does make skin sun sensitive I really suggest you do this even on cloudy days, hey it helps reduce wrinkles too. I calendar my monthly cycle and the week before I may do 2 or more face masks as well in the evenings, sometimes they are moisturising balancing ones, others are clay, and some Japanese style sheet masks are great too. A couple of weeks of dry flakiness can happen, then I start to see improvement, if my skin is bad I use it twice a day, then I reduce it to just at night, then over time just the problem areas, then the spots. For me I also think the boring rules of drinking extra water, eating more vegetables and greens and reducing sugary foods really does significantly help, also getting 8 or more hours sleep a night too but I never do due to a toddler but my skin was great when I slept more. I used to pick when I was anxious and it's demoralising going through this but there is light at the end of the tunnel. In the past I also found accutane did work especially for body acne but I wouldn't take a long course of it, I reduced the dosage myself and skipped a day often and definitely don't take it if you plan on having a baby within a few years of taking it due to birth defect possibilities. Great product benzac AC gel 5% really accessible since it's from the supermarket here. 5 stars *****

Didn't work for me
I have tried many ways to get rid of the acne on my chin where it is the worst and started to get desperate so tried proactiv+. It made my skin feel smooth and clean and cleared up the minimal acne on my forehead, I was impressed with how little you need to put on, but it did nothing on my chin, if anything it made it worst and actually made it hurt to the point where I had to stop using it. This product kind of works but only on very mild cases of acne so I wouldn't recommend. As I'm only a teenager I'm hoping this is something I will grow out of so I'm not overly bothered but I'm still disappointed that it didn't work as it would have been great to have something guaranteed to work like the ads say

confused
i started using this 3 days ago and i don't know what to think about it. it's getting the pimples that i wanted to go away, to go away but i'm also getting a few other pimples? is this supposed to happen. i'm gonna keep on using this till it's finished just to see if it actually does work. update: did not work as good as i thought it would. it made the pimples on my forehead that i wanted to go away, go away but other than that it made me break out more on other spots. Right now i am using Cetaphil facial wash and Witch Hazel and let me tell you those 2 things are tha bomb. com lol. it's a whole lot cheaper than this product tho.

Aggressive flaking, and redness...Is it working or not?
I started using this regimen about 2 weeks ago, and already my face looks horrible than what it did before I started. My acne hasn't worsened but my face is super dry, flaking, and 2 shades darker than before (around the eyes, nose, and mouth area). I'm trying not to give up on this regimen quite yet because I've been battling with acne, and mild hyper-pigmentation for years now, and after 101 products I've used I thought this would be the answer to my problem! How can I fix this before I completely stop using it?

have u tried it in the front neck area? was curious if it would irritate it
June 15, 2017
Keep using it, just avoid those tender areas. I say if you don't get acne there, don't put it there. I focus on my T-zone and stay away from under my eyes and close to my mouth. Hope it works for you! My skin was dry, irritated and itchy for the first two weeks but now I have no issues. My skin looks awesome.
June 16, 2017
Update: Acne is still somewhat the same. Added another moisturizer to my regimen (Cetaphil Facial Moisturizer with SPF15) but I mixed both that, and the acne.org moisturizer and finally I can notice the dry skin coming off. My face is now adjusting, and now hoping for more results soon..

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
