Pros:

dirt Cheap& works surprisingly well.

Cons:

May dry up skin

I've used tazorac, retin a,proactiv, neutrogena, with ok results.Just started using this 3 wks ago & my pimples are gone. I have mild to moderate acne. i use purpose cleanser, cetaphil lotion and purpose suncreen spf15, best combination of products. works wonders for me. this bp gel is unscented, leaves skin a litle white. I apply cetaphil lotion around the corners of my mouth, nose, eyes bfore applying bp,to reduce dryness and redness. works very well. I'm psyched about this hope it continues to work for me as my skin tends to get use to meds quickly. i'll update in 2 months.

Pros:

only thing that worked for me!!!

Cons:

the first month, skin gets fairly dry!!! How else are you suppose to kill the bacteria!

I LOVE the Panoxylgel10%,I HAD moderate acne The first couple of weeks it made my face really dry to the point that i couldn't even smile, but I was putting a lot. I wanted to get rid of the acne sooner so i didn't really care. It only says to put it once at night time but I put it on twice a day, at night I'd put a lot and in the morning just a little less. Invest in a oil free moisturizer, i was first using the clean and clear softw/Spf15.but don't put the moisturizer all over your face, just the edges of ur face and around the eyes and smile crease, because u want to let the skin breath. I also am using the TANDA skincare blue light, another skin saver, paid 200 but it's my own home system and one time purchase and if i were to get a blue light treatment at a spa it cost 100per treatment, really worth the money. After 2months my face was almost clear, i was in shock and u will be too. Also Buy the proactiv mask, great to reduce redness. Now my faceisALLClEAR,hardworkbutworth@end

Pros:

Does the job! Has helped me stay completely clear ever since using it.

Cons:

The bottle isn't travel-friendly (big) and the nozzle keeps breaking

I'm a female in my early 20's with mostly mild acne. Ever since using this product, it has helped tremendously from keeping ANYTHING from forming on my face. I love the fact that it doesn't have any smell and it absorbs relatively fast. Before coming across acne.org, I used to have to pay visits to the dermatologist just to get the same old medicine all the time-wasting time as well as money. This product is VERY affordable for its amount and affectiveness. Bottom line: IF YOU WANT TO TREAT ACNE EFFECTIVELY WITHOUT WASTING 100'S OF DOLLARS, BUY THIS!

Pros:

I noticed results after using this product for just a couple of days. I have very oily skin and this has decreased ALOT since using this product. It dries the pimples right up over night. I haven't seen any new acne appear.

Cons:

For the first couple of days it made my skin worse, it was horribly dry and peeling and it HURT! But after that stage it cleared right up. No more pain!

The cream zaps pimples and prevents new ones, the only KEY thing to remember about the cream is *perserverence*. The pills definately help to prevent new acne from appearing, definately fights the hormones that can cause really bad acne. WORTH THE MONEY!! WORTH THE TIME!! espescially for bad acne. Just remember patience.

Pros:

Improves acne within a few weeks.

Cons:

Dries skin, but can be counteracted with a good non-comodogenic moisturizer

This product is excellent. Ive had acne for at least 2 years now and i can honestly say Oxy maximum strength is the only thing that has worked for me. I used proactiv for about 2 years and saw 0 results, and im sure ive wasted over $1000 on that crap. Bottom line, dont give into stuff like proactiv, its a scam! invest $5 in oxy and you'll be amazed at what this stuff will do! im currently suffering from a few breakouts, but thats because i was badly sunbruned on my face and the dead skin peeling off is clogging my pours, but im confident that my daily use of oxy will take care of that.

Pros:

you can feel a diff with frist use.
even out skin tone

Cons:

burns within the frist few weeks (toner)

IT WORKS. I have been suffering with acne for about six years. I'm 20 now, I have tried everything. This was the last thing I used for my face and of course the last thing works..lol. I tell everyone about it and how it changed my life. I went thoguh so much with my skin. If you want clean skin USE IT. That's the bottom line.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
