Pros:

it does work it cleared up acne within days and it made my skin glow

Cons:

price and customer service

the customer service is horrible when the girl asked me did i want to upgrade my order to 3 months she didn't tell me that the price would increase so that pissed me off when i called to cancel my automatic shipping and they didn't even tell me what days it would be drafted out of my account so i just canceled the account and i called CS and they did not help me out at all really and told me i would have to pay the remaining balance when i had no knowledge of the price increase so for now on i will just travel to a kiosk to get my product because it is a great product and it has been much success for me

Pros:

Nice system and bag to keep it in

Proactiv broke my face out like I was a 13 year old girl. I had horrible bumps for the 3 months that I used this product.

Pros:

This product is cheap at Target. I have only used it for 1 day at night and when i woke up, pimples have already began to dissapear.

Cons:

When i woke up my face was burning/ itching and swollen around the eyes, Looked like i got into a bad fight or was up crying all night. I guess i'm sensitive to the Benzoyle, because this also happend when i tried Proactiv but with Proactiv it burned worse and was crazy red. The swelling did go down through out the day but left a red flushed look on the cheeks that still hasn't gone away yet.

I bought the sensitive skin one and i think that is even a little too strong for me. I think mostly it's the step 3 repairing lotion that makes the face burn. I will continue a few more days to see if i adjust because day 1 has shown promise. I will have to keep it away from my eye area to avoid the swelling. My boyfriend says "bad news your face is swollen but good news your pimples are gone" i hope i don't have to choose!

Pros:

I just had to give feedback, which is something I usually do not do. I bought the industrial strength acne formula for teens, the midnight moisturizer and the daytime moisturizer in January last year and I love it. I've used the lotions, the face wash and the natural soap and my skin has never been better. I absolutely love their products, and not just the ones that are exclusively for your face.

Cons:

None that I can think of.

This stuff is basically awesome. That is all.

Horrible customer service!

The customer service individual that worked with me was very rude. I was promised a 60 day money back guarantee and I never received it. Then I called back in and said that I was too late for the money back guarantee. Plus he treated me very very poorly. I work in customer service myself and I know to never treat a customer the way he treated me. I am very upset and would never recommend proactive to anyone!

Pros:

- Cleared acne after dedicated usage
- Made face look overall cleaner, fresher, smoother
- Paired with Even Better skin tone corrector moisturized, made skin very soft.. cleared acne dark spots.

Cons:

- Dries skin out (however, I pair the system with the Even Better skin tone corrector moisturizer for the acne spots I had)

I have bought this product again and again. It is expensive, but for me, definitely worth it. I have mild acne, (I used to have it pretty severe when I was younger, however it's mild now and I only have dark spots left from picking at my face when I was younger -- terrible!) I used the system morning and night, and after each use I used the Even Better Skin Tone Corrector Moisturizer. It never felt too dry after. I use bare minerals make up, and it didn't seem to affect anything. I will continue to buy this product. It hits my pockets hard, but after dedicated usage, my skin looks and feels better and I feel more confident in my appearance. (Total price -- about 100. 50 for the kit and 50 for the moisturizer.)

Pros:

it cleared my skin
wasn't too drying
cheaper than some treatments

Cons:

I wish I could just run to the store and pick up some more when I need to.

Yes, this product worked wonders for me. I love it!! I had been suffering from acne for years and this is the only product that worked for me. Not only did it get rid of all the pimples, but it also lightened up old acne marks. If I ever did get an occasional pimple, it would be totally gone in a day or 2. I got compliments on my skin every time I left my house, which I'd never gotten before. I'm sorry that a lot of you have experienced problems with costumer service. I have never had a problem, but.. I would like to say one more thing. It makes me so mad that some people think that just because it didn't work for them that this company is running a scam. Or that the product is absolute crap. You know, not everything works for everybody. For me, this product is simply amazing. My face really was flawless. But, for my best friend (who has the same skin type and the exact same skin problems as I do) it didn't work at all. Everybody is different and everyone's skin will react differently. When it comes to something like acne, I think its kind of a hit or miss deal. You just have to keep searching until you find what works for you. For those of you who think that this product is total crap just because it didn't work for you.. please get off your high horse and realize that the world does not revolve around you and your experiences. I'm sorry it didn't work, and I hope you do find something that will work for you. Proactive didn't work at all for me, but I do know a few people who it did work for. I would never say that that product is total crap and bash it. It does work for some. Bottom line: Yes, I would recommend this product. Try it. It might not work, but you know what? It just might be the miracle product you've been looking for. It was for me!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
