Pros:

-Was cheap, I got 2 month supply for 50 bucks

Cons:

-small bottles
-the next morning I woke up to look in the mirror and find that my face had swelled up massively.
-I couldn't even smile because it made my face so tight.
-My face was so red and itchy that I looked like I had a bad sunburn.
-The following day after the horror, my skin felt very grainy and scaley.

I hated this product. You would think that Proactiv would go out of business by now, but I guess people are still buying. Also the customer service is unbearably annoying. I used the product once and wanted to call to return it and get a refund, I couldn't even get through to an operator! In conclusion, for me it didn't work it made it worse, so Proactiv is just like any other brand, nothing special, it either works for you or not.

Pros:

It really works and it keeps my skin looking great.

Cons:

The cons are so minimal that they don't even need to be considered. You just have to desire to have beautiful clear skin and the steps for this skin care are not a bother.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING works like this. Proactiv and Murad were too harsh for my skin. Prescription creams irritated it also. I was beginning to think that there was nothing out there for me to use and then I found Carly's Clear and Smooth on Ebay. Thank God for that day!! I am so pleased with this skin care line that I will NEVER use anything else. Oh and the natural soap works great as shampoo for your hair also.

Pros:

-Makes skin feel clean

I've been using this product for a few weeks now, & it does seem like a good product. I think it has helped my skin not produce more pimples, but it hasn't really helped my existing ones go away.

Pros:

Product was mostly effective I used it for 4 years consistantly. I may even continue to buy it from the mall kiosks.

Cons:

Customer lack of service!
Impossible to receive refunds for non-receipt of product. Lack of personalized service or communication.

Basically paid them over $50 to close my account so that I wouldn't have to be bothered with it anymore. After jumping through all their hoops to no avail, I gave up and let them keep my money. Poor, poor corporation. disappointed.

Pros:

Spot Treatment

Cons:

*post inflammatory hyper pigmentation
*scars

Hi, I have light brownish skin. I was getting desperate to clear my face. I have tried every prescription from my dermatologist, and nothing had ever worked. I stumbled across this site and choose to use the kit from acne.org. I used it exactly how he instructs us for 3 whole months. The first month, I had the worse acne of my life. The breakouts and flare ups were beyond tolerable. By the end of the third month, I have developed horrible scars and hyper pigmentation on my cheeks from where the cystic acne is. I am not sure if this works on Caucasian skin, but it certainly did not work for me. My face looks like a bloody hell right now, which is the sole result of this acne.org kit. I am writing this review because I do not want others to experience what has happened to me. I followed the procedure religiously and now I am left with indents all over my cheeks. PLEASE PLEASE read this review before purchasing. If you still think that the product will work for you, be my guest and purchase it. I went back to my dermatologist and he said putting on that much benzoyl peroxide, as directed, lead to my face scarring. Now, I am using Retin A Micro to help alleviate my scars and hopefully in the next couple of months my scars will diminish.

I don't evven know where to start with this... I just LOVE this benzoyl peroxide, It's amazing. Probably the best and easily the most affordable BP on the market. I hope Dan never stops selling it! P.S - my acne WAS moderate, but now I'm proud to say it's light (and I've only been on the regimen for a bit over a week)

Pros:

-Works for a while.

Cons:

-Stops working

I've used Proactive for about two years now. Sure it cleared my skin up in about a month. and i continued to use it through out those years. But my acne has come back 2x worse. Im still using it in hopes that it will clear my acne just a good as it did the first time but i'm loosing hope and currently online looking for a new solution. I think an all natural soultion would be less harsh and clear my skin in a healthy way. You should try the same before you make it worse with Proactive!!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
