Pros:

Worked the first rime I used it, smells pretty good and left my skin feeling clean.

Cons:

Stopped working after a while and expensive.

In middle school I had a very oily face, which led to little acne bumps. Proactiv cleared that up, so I continued using it hoping to contr the acne. I guess my skin became immune or it could be because my skin worsened, because it stopped working in high school. So if your acne is light, it will probably work for you.

Pros:

Works AMAZINGLY
Cleared my skin completely
I have no zits on my face at all, seriously...none
I love the smell
So easy to use

Cons:

I wish it was a little cheaper, but it was 100% worth it

I cannot express how much I love this product. I have had acne since I was 12....I am 18 years old and about to leave for college (exactly 25 days from now to be exact.) And I just could not stand the fact that i had to leave with such an ugly face! I would wake up with about 5 new pimple on my forehead, and maybe like 3-5 on each cheek and also my chin. So one day my dad was watching tv and said "hey have you tried skin id?" I hadn't but I have heard great things from friends. So i gave in and I thought "why not?". So about a week after ordering it (and by the way you MUST be precise when you take your evaluation) I opened the box up and gave it a shot. I got 7-40-32 which came with a cream cleanser, toner, anti-acne cream, spot treatment, and a body spray for acne. I love every single thing! The cream cleanser I use with a little rubber scrubbie cleaner because i feel like i save soap that way...and also I am not using my hands. After rinsing I use just one dab of toner on a cotton wipe and use it all over, it is not drying at all and I have combination skin! When my face dries I use the spot treatment and let that dry, and lastly I use the anti-acne cream. When all of that is dry I follow up with a moisturizer from ponds that come in a little tub, it is the perfect amount of moisture without making my skin oily. So after doing this day and night for about a month, I noticed that I have not had any new pimples for a while...and all of my old ones were either gone or almost dried up, my face was beginning to look like it did when I was little: smooth and clear and my freckles were visible again. But yes, of course I have scars but they are just light pink or close to invisible now and I use bio oil as my night time moisturizer to help fade them. Honestly I cannot promise you anything, but I believe that skin id was a miracle worker for me, the only time I got a pimple while using this was on my period...it was just ONE. Please give this a shot, I am so amazed.

Pros:

Clears Most of your Acne in about 2 weeks
The Foam is really cool
Not very drying
This is literally THE ONLY that helped clear my acne!!
And only use this once a day in the morning and at night just use a Spectro Jel Cleanser. Whichever one there all good :) The reason you should only use it in the morning is because otherwise if you use the Clean &Clear twice a day it'll dry out your skin a lot more that just using it once.
Makes pores smaller, your face less oily and your a

Cons:

I can't really think of any..
The pump is a bit annoying...

I've just been using this for a few weeks, once a day. And it's helped sososososo much!!! This is the ONLY product that has helped me in my battle against acne. If you have a Combination/Oily skin this should help with your oily spots and it also makes your pores less noticeable, And makes your pimples literally disappear and prevents new pimples from forming!! I really hope this has helped you!!

Pros:

visible and dramatic reduction in breakouts
improves skin texture
toner helps even skin tone
good line for people with skin allergies

Cons:

very drying
not for sensitive skin
only worked for about 7-8 months
did not completely clear my skin

The first 2 weeks I used this my face basically flaked/peeled off because I wasn't used to benzoyl peroxide. It didn't hurt or turn red but it was not very attractive. Once my skin was acclimated, my skin looked much better. I was breaking out a lot less frequently and breakouts cleared up much faster. It only cleared my skin up to a point though; it did not not give me clear skin. I think it's worth a shot if your acne isn't too severe.

Pros:

it may work depending on your type of skin

Cons:

Expensive for NO reason at all
didn't work

I endured hour long testimonials on TV consistently researching online, which finally led to a purchase. Long story short it didn't work. No life changing story here.

Pros:

- Best absorption
- Most effective
- Best consistency

Cons:

- More expensive than drug store brands

I've tried a few drug store brand 10 % benzoyl peroxides, and this is by far the best. Most other brands are runny and sit atop your skin. They feel diluted. This is thick and rich, yet it absorbs the best out of all BP gels. I feel like it does a better job at attacking acne too, as it dries out my skin more than other BPs. The only con is that it costs sometimes double the drug store brands.

Pros:

Not too expensive
Does dry out spots
Helped for a few days

Cons:

Made more tiny acne come up on my forehead and I rarely get those. I usually get big ones, not really any small ones. Now I have a lot of tiny ones aswell as my usual on my face.
Drys my skin out too much
My face cracks, feels tight, horrible, burns

Worked for a few days then I noticed loads of little spots on my forehead started to form, I carried on anyways because it did take away my big ones and my face was actually smoother than it had been a long time so I thought the little ones will go away if I continued. Sadly they are not gone and I still have them. I stopped using it for a few days now and they are still there, now along with my usual ones, I tried to put it on my big ones only (a dab) it just doesnt work anymore. So I threw it in the bin. My face is super dry, flaky and feels horrible. Did not like this product.

Pros:

Works fast, they guarantee it so you really have nothing to lose

Cons:

Nothing

This is the best acne product out there. I have tried everything...prescription creams, antibiotics, proactiv, skinID, Aveda, natural remedies...you name it. Nothing seemed to work for me. I have been trying to find something that works like this for 12 years. I read all the reviews and decided all of that positive feedback might be worth a try. Boy, it was. If you don't use a moisturizer along with it, it will dry you out. I use Clinique's Moisture Surge and I only use the acne solutions clearing moisturizer at night. Well worth it, and now I finally feel comfortable in my own skin.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
