Cons:

SUCKS! I thought it was a lotion! Why, then, would it make my skin dry, flaky and itchy? Don't use this.

Pros:

It cleared up the pimple overnight.

Cons:

My face broke out worse than it was to start with! My face ended up being really blotchy, itchy, dry, scaley. It's horrible.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It literally makes my face itch like crazy. It became dry, really red, and more broke out than what it started as. I really did not like this product. I can't get over the fact that it's suppose to work and clear your skin overnight, and when you wake up, sure the pimple you wanted gone is gone, but you have more to deal with. If you use the cleanser on your fact, whereever you put it, your face will break out extremely bad, hense the dry and itchy face. Also, I don't like the fact that it's auto-renewal, and it's a pain to get that cancelled.

There is Proactiv before but the thing was i cant buy that product cos im afraid to buy that expensive thing and then it myt not work for my skin, Bunch of guiltiness happend bec. I bought PROACTIV 60days Kit and then amazingly 1st night i used it, then i wokep up on morning but GODDD! i noticed !st to my skin all my pimples was become small fr. a huge sized, then i noticed all the redness was gone-it really fits for me- (i hve evidence i Took picture of my face before i used it, but ryt now this, for my 6 Days using it, its miracle happened that it Really fast to vanished all my acne now, only few darkspot left, but it manageable by refining cream and i really love it among those stuffs, I'm really happy for my face right now i hope i can post my pic here, But forbids me for my Happy Reaction about Proactiv, it really Works for me! Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

Doesn't get rid of acne. Stings my eyes even when it's not on them, just around them.

Don't buy this product. Did nothing for my skin. I squeezed half of it down the drain, because I wanted to buy a cleanser that actually worked!

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

None!!

Cons:

Burning/stinging pain when you apply it, it dries out your skin so bad, very harsh, gave me a horrible red rash!

This product is so harsh on your skin it burns when you apply it then dries out your skin severely. I developed a painful red rash from just a couple uses of the treatment. This made my skin worse rather than better. I would go to a professional dermatologist and not waste your money on this.

Pros:

clear up the spots
make skin look smoother
inexpensive

Cons:

dries out the skin
new spots are still appearing

I am using PanOxyl 10% Acnegel which had helped me (it still does) a lot! I got really severe acne when I moved to Thailand and after reading a review on benzoyl peroxide I decided to give it a try! At first my skin was red, then it got dry and flaky (originally I have oily skin) and finally I realized that it works! Usually I apply it to my face once a day, covering the spotted areas. I tend to get more breakouts before my period, if so I use it twice a day. Yes, it makes my skin oily and dry at the same time (because of the hot and humid weather) but I try to balance it by using moisturising facial wash (Cetaphyl or Smooth-E). It doesn't stop me from breaking out though, so I'm planning to try accutane in nearer future but I'm not going to stop taking PanOxyl by any means!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
