Pros:

dries my pimples and lessen my white and blackheads!

Cons:

dry skin, redness :)

it really works! i swear! mine is benzac ac acne wash, it's effective! i'm using it for 2 months now and see improvements, couples of scars remained and new pimples form occasionally, but they are smaller and goes away faster, i use celeteque facial wash then use this, after that i use celeteque moisturizer, i trust celeteque bcuz it's non-comedogenic and oil free :)

Pros:

I was using Acne Free and became allergic and thought I'd never again find a product that worked.I had very bad acne on my face and tried many different products which didn't work at all or made things worse. This works if U follow all instructions!

Cons:

none!

It actually works, it's cheaper than most products and it's not tested on animals!

Pros:

I get compliments all the time on my skin about how its smooth/clear from girls and how its soft from guys. There is no need for me to wear make-up all over my face anymore.

Cons:

Its is kinda expensive(for a poor college student) I broke out more after I started using it but I kept at it, and it cleared right up.

You have to keep at it!! I started using it in High School. Yes, it made me break out more the first month but it vanished just as quickly. I guess because my skin was adjusting/clearing itself out. You have to discover through trial and error..and yes maybe a little effort/experimentation, how to manipulate the system to work for you. I myself use more toner. I keep the mask on overnight on pimples, when I do get them, and they clear up in 1-2 days. I do performance work, so my complexion is important to me. This stuff works and i've recommended it to fellow co-workers and they are just as happy with the results. Just grin and go on and give it time.

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

Well organized

Cons:

Make my skin red
Irritated it

It did not work for me. I have heard great things, but it did not work for me. The whole regimen made my entire face red because it basically burned my face. It looks as if I have sunburn now. As far as acne, I seem to have the same amount as before.

Pros:

I can't remember...

Cons:

Left my sensitive skin very dry and irritated.

I used this product for a while when I was about eleven or twelve and it broke me out very badly. I am now 14 going on 15 in March and my skin is pretty much relatively clear.. I LOVE my Noxzema, which I have been using for almost five months now, but now that my jar is out and I haven't had the chance to go back out to town to buy more of it, I was thinking of giving THIS product another shot, as I found it when I was looking through my medicine cabinet (aka my facial products/lotion cabinet lol) and thought I'd take a look at reviews online. I'm trusting the majority of the reviews and I'm going to use it now, but I'm definitely going to follow up with a lotion just in case. Wish me luck!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
