Pros:

It rubs in easily, leaves no residue, and is far superior to any other BP product I have ever used. It's simply the best.

Cons:

None

The best BP product you can buy.

Pros:

Great skin! Only took 6 wks to see great results! I was skeptical because I worked for the company and new all about the product but had never tried it

Cons:

The initial breakout period before it clears up.

Did you know that if you are a club member, you can change how often you are recieving these prdcts, take your card off and recieve a bill, customize your kits, and place holds on your account for a certain amount of time? Acne takes 3-4 weeks to see results so that is why it takes 6-8 wks to see the full results for most people! Try it that long before you say how awful it is! Also, you can't become"immune" ask your doc what causes acne and they will tell you there are lots of different reasons.

Pros:

IT WORKS! It may not work for everyone, but it's inexpensive and gentle enough to try. I'm very glad that I did. Proactiv did not work for me, which is a relief because its expensive!

Cons:

You have to be consistent in your regimen. It also might take too much time for some people, but it was totally worth it for me.

It's definetely worth a try, cheaper than other products, and worked for me when other stuff didnt. Also, I use cetaphil lotion and Nuetregena with make-up removal for a facial wash. It's a method that is working for me, inexpensive, and easy. NOTE: it took about a month or more to work, but after about 2 months, my skin is clear. Definetely worth a try!

Pros:

Gel is vastly superior to Neutrogena creme, glides on and soaks in so the medicine can get right to work.

Cons:

None whatsoever.

LOVE IT!

Pros:

It leaves your face very soft and smooth / Works relatvely fast (within 4 weeks I saw very significant results) / Doens't burn or overdry your face /

Cons:

The fragrance / It leaves your face a little red for an hour or so

I have had mild to moderate acne since the age of 11 (I'm 22 now) and I have tried every topical product imaginable and they never worked for more than 2 weeks or so, and left my face burnt to a crisp. A friend of mine with SEVERE acne recommended Proactiv, it worked for her so I figured why not: WIthim 2 weeks my skin looked healthier, within 4 weeks the acne had cleared right up... now it has been 11 months or so I've been using it and I NEVER break out. My scars have almost totally faded... My face looks the best it EVER has :D I WOULD RECOMMED THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!!!

i havent actually tried it yet (i'm going to buy it today!) so that is why i rated everything 3 (except the price because $9 seems cheap to me!) but what i have read here it seems like the stuff works best for people with moderate acne but not for people with only 3-5 zits and works sometimes with people with bad acne. Also it seems like the people who have bad experiences with it are allergic, dont use it properly (put cream all over face, dont wash before using, don't chew pill enough, etc)or have only a few zits. It also seems that drinking a lot of water helps too with it. This is just my summary of what i've read here but i hope it helps!! I'm going to get it today and see if it works!! wish me luck!!

everything

none

I recommend it. It cleared my acne within 5 weeks following Dan's program with it. It's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros:

This is the ONLY over the counter product that has ever worked for me, .... When i had acne real bad and first got this my skin was coompletely clear for about 3 monthns, my skin has never gotten that bad again

Cons:

However it has gotten better and worse from time to time, usually better in the summer then worse with the colder months. It helps but i still wish i could find something more consistant.

Over all id say im glad i found it, but its not perfect as it is un releyable and may at any time stop working for a while allowing a break out... better than nothing though and definatly the best OTC medicine i have tried

Pros:

Has a nice smell :D

Cons:

Too expensive, if you dont use it properly it will ruiin your face.

This stuff works very well, strtaed noticing some improvment in 2 weeks, I bought the 30 day trial system it only lasted 2 weeks.:(

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
