Pros:

Worked really well at first. Cleared everything up in a few days.

Cons:

After a few weeks, my face started to get oily again and I got more pimples than I had before even though I hadn't changed the way or amount of times a day I was using it.

Not worth it.

Kind of Worked...
I have struggled with acne since I was in the sixth grade. I am now 18 and still living with acne. After multiple failed attempts of over-the-counter acne products, I decided to give X-Out a try. I received my shipment and started using it twice a day like it recommended. It did not burn my skin, but left a cool, clean feeling. I didn't really dry out my skin to much. I started noticing a slight improvement after about a week of using the product, but was till having some trouble areas. I continued to use the product for 4 months. I was using it at least once a day and sometimes two. After 4 months and still not having completely clear skin, I decided to cancel my subscription because nothing was really happening. My skin had improved since I started using it, but I still did not have clear skin like they advertised. I have now decided to switch to another product in hopes that that will work. I would recommend this to people. I would say give it 30 days and if there isn't any improvement stop using it and cancel it, otherwise you will be charged each month. Also when using this product make sure you do not use any colored fabrics due to the fact that it will bleach them! I am happy that it cleared my skin slightly, but was hoping for completely clear skin after 4 months.

Hi there, I too had a severe acne breakout once. And it was like, more of acne and less of my face. You should try Go 360° Clean Facial Cleanser for acne prone skin by L'oreal. It took sometime to get the results, but they were amazing. My skin felt a little dry in the starting, but then all the acne stopped growing out at once. And with that, NEVER, EVER expose your face to the sun. NEVER.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

OVER RATED
OVER PRICED
OVER WITH
OVER FOREVER

This proactive does not need to be rated like this on TV. All my life I have been using over-the-counter products which always worked great. Two weeks after I started using Proactive my acne broke out.....never have i seen my face so bumpy; (I did follow all the instructions) Before i know it, there was another order at my door and my account was charged. Real sneaky, real crap. BUYERS BEWARE!

Pros:

I love ALL of the Carley's products. Our whole family has been using them for 4 years now. I use the industrial strength scrub with the soap and the healing moisturizer on my face. The soap is great for all over including the hair. I also love the mineral makeup for acne skin. Used others with bigger price tag and just as happy with Carleys.

Cons:

None in 4 years. Every box is like Christmas with free samples.

I've had acne since I was 12 or 13. Always tried everything new that was on the market. Mary Kay, ProActive, Clearasil, Neutrogena, Avon, everything. Nothing worked, just burned my skin with chemicals and left me more unhappy than before and broke! I found Carley's on Ebay and thought what the heck. Reviews were more positive than negative and I've never looked back. I know everyone's skin is different and have had one friend that could not use their products, but their stuff is incredible for me and my family. They do what they say and say what they do. Steve Wills is very honest in every email (and yes you do received an email with every email sent to them). The honesty about what they put in the products is more than enough reason to purchase them. Wishing they would develop an SLS free shampoo line that is truly SLS free and not disguised SLS products and full of perfume. Bottom line: Try it....what have you got to lose? If you are like I was you've probably tried everything else.

Pros:

Clears skin fairly fast and keeps on working.(I've used it for years and it has not stopped working after 3 months like Proactiv did.)

It is literally the ONLY thing that has for the most part cleared my acne. (I have had moderate that progressed to severe acne since I was 14, and am now in my 20's.)

The Benzoyl Peroxide Lotion and Retinol last for quite some time.

Cons:

It is a shame they don't sell the Cleanser and Toner separately as those are the items I run out of first, and I end up having to buy the whole package when I only need two things immediately.

After using perscription creams (Differin, Retin A, Benzaclin, Clindamycin, etc.), oral acne medications such as Doxycycline, every cleanser, toner and acne fighting cream brand from Neutrogena to Noxema...this is the ONLY thing that has worked. My acne will probably never completely go away as I have been dealing with it for 7 years and it has never been completely cured for any extended amount of time, but this product keeps it at bay. And every side product they have come out with from the foaming cleanser to the 1 hour pimple patches has lived up to its' promises.

Pros:

Makes my skin soft and smooth with no more breakouts.

Cons:

None that I can find.

I had only mild acne mostly on my chin which has completely disappeared since using Carley's soap and moisterizers. The biggest surprise for me has been that the soap has cured an excema rash that I couldn't get rid of with prescription medication from my dermatologist. If I stop using the soap, the excema comes back, so I will not be running out of Carley's soap again. Great products, I'm even giving them for Christmas gifts this year!

Pros:

Works soooo fast!!
Completely cleared my spots on chin and jaw.
No more new spots!!!!

Cons:

Drying (but easily sorted with moisturiser)

I applied this before bed one evening, by the morning the spots had pretty much dried up. I applied this the next evening and by the morning all my spots had gone!! I am amazed - i had tried everything, from BC, countless lotions and potions, and my hormonal acne on my chin and jawline never went away and just seemed to keep getting worse. After just 2 days of applying panoxyl, all my spots are gone!!!! I bought the 10%, it is very drying, bt just apply moisturiser and you'll be fine. Its so cheap and can be bought over the counter, so just give it ago, you might be amazed like me!! P.S since applying i have had no new pimples whatsoever, where before i was getting 1-2 new ones per day!!!

Clear skin in roughly 1-3 weeks with constant use.

Cons:

Dry, Red, Itch skin - Apply E45 after panoxyl and will stop in 1-2 days.

Panoxyl is good, I find it has heped my acne alot. I used to be plastered in them. But now after using panoxyl for 3 WEEKS only.. I have clear skin.. eventhough my skin is now clear, i still apply the cream as it also works in prevention.. Hope this helped :)

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
