Pros:

My skin is less oily, and very smooth.
Cleared up most of my acne

Cons:

Still get random little breakouts. nothing too severe.
Takes a while for skin to clear up (couple of weeks)

currently using the REGUALR Clinique 3-step (not the acne solutions) I started breaking out real bad on my forehead in February. Then it spread to my chin. I started using the REGULAR 3-step and my acne is getting a lot better. It also makes my skin a lot smoother and healthier. If the normal 3-step works well, Acne Solutions probably works wonders for even more severe acne

Pros:

Attacks acne fervently, is probably the most efficient spot cream in the business.

Cons:

Results may decrease after a month of application.

Starts off well, but soon loses its spice.

Pros:

This is the first product I've used in 15 years the consistantly clears up my acne and keeps my skin clear. Even little zits I feel coming on disappear almost overnight. I will NEVER be without this!

I have tried EVERYTHING short of accutane which my doctor suggested - the side effects freaked me out too much. Nothing else I tried worked - not pills, creams or anything you'd find in the drugstore. I tried Retin-A with zero results, Proactive with absolutely no change. I tried this as a last resort and after about 4 weeks of consistant use I was a believer! I haven't had a breakout or even a zit in about 4 months, my skin doesn't get oil-slick shiny half way through the day and my skin feels fantastic! So smooth and clean! Believe me, I know that nothing works for everyone, but if you haven't at least tried it, you could be missing out on the best thing that happened to me in a very very long time! My only issue is that with the packaging - the toner bottle looks EXACTLY like the cleanser which is irritating when you've taken your contact lenses out already and can't read the labels. A very very small criticism though. I LOVE THIS STUFF!

Pros:

-Get's rid of acne although not as quickly as they will have to believe.
-Relatively easy system and cheap
-Although the bottles look small they will last you

Cons:

-Smells like acne medication lol...
-Is very drying
-Takes a bit longer to work

This product did get rid of my acne but it took 2 weeks, not the 3 days they advertise. Your skin texture will improve but your acne will take a while to clear and the formula is very strong and drying. I would recommend using the wash everyday but limit the toner to your problem areas maybe a few times a week. The lotion is really thin and not very nourishing so unless you want dry dry skin I would invest in a better cream to put on top. It was cheap though and as long as you adjust to your skin type and get a better moisturizer you might find that this will be enough to get rid of your acne. I had terrible breakouts after I got Mirena put in and nothing would work to clear them. I never had bad skin until I had this thing put into my uterus! My face looked like a battle field but Acnefree has mostly cleared it up. Occasionally I'll get a pimple but it's usually tiny and near my period and it's no where near as bad anymore. So it's probably not the best system but it's cheap and easy.

Pros:

smells better, makes me wash my face more

Cons:

turns my skin red between step 2 and 3...and so far all ive gotten was more pimples on my forhead, but imma use the whole bottle see if its just clearing things out...

it just takes time,

Pros:

it took care of some of the bigger pimples, but i still got breakouts.

Cons:

it doesnt work as well if you don't use it twice a day, everyday. it's kind of expensive and you have to have it automatically withdrawn from your account, which i often forgot about. plus, it bleached the tops of my eyebrows orange!

it seems to work really great for a few people, and adequately for others. i'd recommend just trying to buy something from the stores. its much less hassle with basically the same results.

Pros:

got rid of my acne and acne scars, and blackheads are now gone. diminished all of my clogged pores, smoothed out my complexion and bumpy skin

Cons:

the toner burns for the first 4 days but then you get used to it
dry /flaky skin [but this is resolved by a good moisturizer ^-^]

my acne was light/moderate, and the acne & acne scars i got was really aggravating. then my rich cousin showed up at my door saying she got me proactiv. i was really skeptical at first but then i said oh what the heck, might as well, you know? nothing to lose. my skin is oily and sensitive, yet i experienced no redness from proactiv. the kind of acne i had was whiteheads, blackheads and small bumps. basically i didnt get cysts. after 1 week, my mom noticed that my acne was gone . i was so happy! the only thing that made me mad was the flaky skin it caused, but that was quickly resolved when i used aloe moisturizer from the mario badescu skin care line [a little pricey but it works.] so basically if you try proactiv, MAKE SURE to have a good moisturizer. cuhz not all moisturizers will work.. i had flaky skin for a couple days and it wasnt resolved by my usual olay moisturizer, sadly T.T; i think you should really try it. if you follow the regimen strictly then you W

Pros:

It cleared up a little. It never made me break out more. Dosent really sting.

Cons:

It dried my face out i didnt really like the smell. I mean it wasnt horrible. The face mask didnt work for me and the green tea moisturizer stung and made my face red...not to mention it dried my face out more. It cleared my skin up sorta.

If it works for you USE IT. But it didn't work that great for me. It made my skin look better than it did before but i still had large pores and little pimples and little red bumps on my cheeks. And when i used it on my body it made the acne red and splotchy. Plus when i used it sometimes my face would be red for a day. I dont know why. It also made any make-up i wore look crappy. I dont have bad acne so i dont know why it didnt work. But everyone has differant skin...

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
