Pros:

None

Cons:

It made my face break out worse than it has in YEARS!!

I heard wonderful things about Clinique, but was SO disapointed to find that it made my Acne SO MUCH WORSE! My skin hasn't looked or felt this bad in years! Proactive works a lot better for me.

Pros:

The toner is somewhat pleasant

Cons:

The service, charging me for a shipment I did not need / order before I even had the trial for three weeks. It made my skin worse than it has ever been and the dryness is making the new breakouts impossible to heal. WORST COMPANY EVER.

I was better off just using soap and dealing with the monthly breakout. Now I have a huge mess and am out 20 bucks for the trial and the 50 bucks for the kit I wasn't even close to needing. I would love to take this scamming down and never see another stupid infomercial ever again. I used the product for years in high school and it didn't help then, I can't believe I was suckered into giving this sh*tty product another shot.

Pros:

it cleared up my acne at first

Cons:

it dried out my skin severely, got acne in places i never had it before.

i used Proactivfor about a month and it seemed to clear it up at first but after a while it severely dried my skin and it was peeling! i had light acne and proactiv took my acne to moderate. i broke out in places i had never had acne before like my cheeks and nose. recently i purchased clinique acne solutions and it is working much better for me! hope this helped!!

Pros:

Nice Packaging,

Cons:

Dries out skin, makes you BREAK OUT MORE.

*I had a couple of small pimples when i started the kit, I wanted something to fade out the old red scars. Heard good things about the product from so many people and close friends... so tried it for almost a month only to have grown a farm of BIGGER pimples clustered around my forehead. I have Not Broken out this bad for almost a year. So disappointed...I had such high hopes in Clinique... Im probably better off with Proactive, even though they're both a Joke.

Pros:

Helps acne clear up in the first month

Cons:

It stops working after a month and just dries your skin out... I got more zits after a month!

I was soooo happy to use this product until it stopped working. Now I'm really dissapointed... I don't feel like anything is working anymore and I guess I'm just going to stay with acne for my whole life! VERY dissapointed. I'm glad it worked for everyone else but it didn't clear up my acne.

Cons:

drys your skin out. it takes forever to put on. makes my face itchy

Pros:

I love everything about the UK version of this range (Anti-Blemish Solutions).

Cons:

The moisturiser in the US version of the range (Anti-Blemish) made my face swell a bit, especially around the eyes, even though I didn't apply it there! It contains benzoyl peroxide and reacted badly for me. The UK moisturiser is fantastic though.

I would recommend the Clinique range, but only for light acne. It's not for moderate or severe acne.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
