Pros:

I bought it to get rid of my cystic acne. My acne has never been that bad as far as whiteheads, zits, and blackheads, but I would always get those huge, painful cysts that leave the worst scars. It's the only thing that worked on the cysts...BUT!!!!!

Cons:

it made my skin breakout w/whiteheads and zits! So now the cysts are gone and instead i have to deal w/everything else!

I will never buy this product again...it got rid of my initial acne problem, but created a new one. it does make your skin soft, but it doesn't make it any clearer:(

Pros:

refining mask does reduce redness, but takes a few nights to completely get rid of the pimple

Cons:

way too expensive and made my skin worse (gave me large, red and very painful cystic acne, which i never experienced before using the product)

its an expensive, endorsed (cough jessica simpson cough) product that costs WAY to much money and gave me a very sore face.

helps clear pimples .. maybe not in 3 days but i does work

Pros:

very effective, not expensive

Cons:

sometimes leave white residue on skin if not rubbing it long enough

By far the best OTC acne spot treatment i've used. I've tried neutrogena before but it wasn't as effective with only 2.5% BP I don't agree with saying 2.5% is as effective as 10%. That is not true based on my experience. My pimples took longer to go away when i was on the 2.5% treatment. The only negative thing about Zapzyt is that after you put it on you have to rub it around to let the skin absorbs it or else you will have white residue left on your skin when it's dried. Also eventhough the tube looks like pretty big but i'd say half the tube was filled with air. Not a big deal since it's not that expensive. I gave it a 5 star because it really works on my pimples. Whenever i put this stuff on a spot, the spot either reduces in size later or at least it doesn't get worse (they usually do if i don't use anything).

Pros:

I am experiencing a breakout of new pimples the Zit, and its painful now,its stinging, with a dark skin discoloration

Cons:

A little improvement since I have just started using it like a week and a half.Let me continue using then I will update you,

I have a friend who used two packs of proactive, who recommended me to this regimen, she has cleared so far, To me what i have so far achieved is promising, but the problem with me is that the toner is too little that it gets finished before other products, and being very far it takes sometime to reach here, like 2 to 3 weeks which is also expensive when making an order like a single toner.

Pros:

After only two days I did see noticeable results and my skin looked fresher and felt smoother.

Cons:

I had to stop after two days because the area around my mouth burned constantly and felt tight. For three days after discontinuing use, my skin peeled and felt like sandpaper. My olive green pillowcase was bleached yellow after two days of night-use.

I know my skin is sensitive, but the fact that it bleached my pillowcase scared me enough to realize that it wasn't "just me." Knowing something about chemistry, the pH levels of all three formulas is similar to a lot of the strong acids I've worked with. The product is harsh on sensitive skin and, from reading other testimonials, normal skin as well it seems. I will be sending the product back after one week of having it, and I hope to not get charged for another month.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

It works for a month, then it gets worse and worse. It keeps you on a roller coaster ride of happy and sad!! The mask makes your face smell like sulfer. CS is rude and threatens you to keep your membership! Then keep charging your account!

DO NOT USE IT!!! You are paying for massive celebrity endorsments and not results!!!

Pros:

used it for a week my skin feels smooth an clear lik a baby bottom

Cons:

i run out of it 2 fast

Definitly a must buy u wont be soorry u brought it my skin cleared in a week

Pros:

It does come all together in on package. I also like the fact that you can purchase wash seperate

Cons:

Did any one notice that the formula changed? The wash has large abrasive ganules. I can hardly get it to come out of the bottle.

I had a lot of faith in this product. It really seemed to help clear up my face. I have an OCD where i pick, and I relied so much on this product to help clear away my blemishes. I just purchased the 19.99 system and noticed a difference in the formula.. I am very unhappy now with the system. The wash was my favorite. I wont waste my money again.

Pros:

With regular use Proactiv did reduce the number of breakouts I had and it did in fact make my skin appear visibly healthier

Cons:

It is slightly expensive. Also it was not recommended by my dermatologist who told me not to waste my money. Also there is a bleach containg agent in the repairing lotion that discolrs clothing.

It works pretty well

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
