Pros:

Works temporarily. and works on different people -so it might work for you.

Cons:

Made my face red for about a year and greatly irritated and burned my skin. (oobiviously i have sensitive skin.)

Might work for you, and if you have severe acne like i did - anything is worth a try. Just if you're like me and have sensitive skin (like moi) then yoy might wanna restrain from the scrubbing face wash.

Pros:

fewer breakouts, and they heal waaaay faster.

Cons:

dries out your face ALOT for the first two weeks of use. face still gets oily in t zone, but only the tiniest pimples there once in a while.

Like any other skincare product, this must be used consistantly(twice per day!), it takes a few weeks to see results, but it reduces breakouts, and when you do get one, it lasts for 1-3 days. anyone who gets those deep pimples knows what i'm talking about. those suckers can take a week or more to go away.

Cons:

Zero!

If you have oily skin/acne, run to the store and buy this line! Worth every penny!!!

Pros:

small tube is easy to fit in makeup bag

Cons:

Didn't work on my skin. It just made blemishes more noticable, red, irritated, swollen, painful. I think they took even longer to clear than not using anything! Doesn't dispense well.

Try something else.

Pros:

It worked well enough for a few years then seemed to stop over night.

Cons:

It dries out your skin if you don't ease in to using it, or moisturise,

I was happy with it until it stopped working, I guess I built up a tolerance to it. I cancelled my subscription.

Their product does not work, yet they cycle charge and ship a new set once a month.

Pros:

clear skin. convenient. easy to use. fast results.

Cons:

bleaching of bath mat from toner? and shirt that I sleep in.

I did many prescription acne products and all of them were too harsh. I couldn't get waxed or it took too long and required daily application. If you have mild acne proactiv is good. My pores clear up totally truly breaking down the nasty stuff. It makes my skin look like I came out of a sauna. I didn't know any medication could work this well. But I don't need to use it everyday. It's more like 3 times a week every week. If you use it very often or too much of it I would imagine it would get less effective over time.

Pros:

I liked the smell, the texture, and how it made my skin feel. It worked really fast, and leaves a clean feel.

Cons:

If you are sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, don't use it.

Love that product! it was worth the money! it works great! Clears skin up really fast, the frangrance is nice, fresh, sorta like a swimming pool and fresh rain mixture, that's what it smells like, a swimming pool and fresh rain.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
