Pros:

Reasonable cost, easy to obtain and very effective for me.

Cons:

None.

This is a good product. I'm older (now 34) and have had acne problems on and off most of my life. I started with about 20 pimples on my face and some pretty clogged pores. This is despite the fact that I was regularly using Neutrogena and Clean & Clear cleansers. My acne is about 1/3 of what it was a week ago, My skin is becoming much smoother and the thick oils which clogged my pores is disappearing. I have pretty serious skin problems and I can tell you that this has given me a remarkable improvement. I experience a small amount of tingling when using this product, but that feels great compared to feeling the discomfort of chronic acne.

Pros:

None

Cons:

I burned my face. I stopped using it when I notice red burns around my face.

This doesn't work for everyone. I was very disappointed. I even tried the milder one. It stings and eventually started to burn my face. May skin became so dry and painful.

Pros:

Easy to use. Friendly customer service. Some clearing on my acne.

Cons:

Drying and made my skin paler. You still get the odd pimple every now and then. Skin eventually becomes 'immune' to the benzyl peroxide.

Not worth the money. Your paying for the celebrities to say they use it and the infomercisals and the billboards etc. I'm going to use something else.

Pros:

I just bought this stuff off the website, and it works better than ANT ance medication ive ever used. i had mild acne before (pimples here and there, blackheads) and its left my skin feeling much softer, redness and discoloration is gone!

Cons:

it takes TWO weeks to start working (so the sales rep said) and i use the 5 step method ..which isnt the easiest thing to apply on a friday night when your tired from going out

it works.. ONLY if you follow the 5/6 step regime: 1)cleanser OCCASIONALLY) refining mask, im leaving it on pimples when i go to sleep 2)toner 3)oil control (apply a really thin layer everywhere) 4)refining lotion (to problem areas like your blackheads, t-zone...) 5) oil free moisturizer (spf 15 stops any possible sun irritation or burning) it works like a charm and clear skin really does boost up your confidence, i stoppped using foundation and skin makeup 2 weeks into it ..which is a great feeling!

Pros:

This is one of the best treatment for clearing acne. It is great when you apply before you sleep and the next day your acne is almost gone. I love it and I think it is great for acne clearing.

Cons:

The amount in a tiny bottle is to pricey. When you first use it or when you use it on a new pimple, it can be a bit irritation, but it's not that bad.

This product is great and I continue to use it. It clears my skin perfectly leaving no spots. I wish the container was bigger for a better price

Pros:

it started to clear up my mild acne for about three days when i first started to use it.

Cons:

i've used it for four months and my skin has gotten so so much worse. first i broke out in tiny bumps EVERYWHERE and now my face is just covered in small, red bumps. I've stopped using it and i'm just crossing my fingers that it will clear up soon.

if you use it, make sure to be very gentle with your skin - i think it's very irritating - and i've never thought of my skin as particularly sensitive. even just using the face wash made my skin break out terribly and using the other parts of the 3 part system made my skin turn into millions of tiny clear bumps that never went away. i hate it! it's horrible. i'm embarrassed to go outside. i had very mild acne to begin with and now, it's awful.

Pros:

This product did not help with my inflammatory acne while i was using it did it did however take away every pimple on my forehead and chin but my cheeks still got frequent breakouts. My face was still oily also.

Cons:

Left my face oily.Didnt get the full benefit of the treatment.

Its a good treatment for people with Mild to moderate acne.People with severe acne should give up on over the counter treatments and try to go sell a dermatoligist as soon as possible.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
