Pros:

smells great, soothing

Cons:

doesn't work, at least for my skin, which is very oily and and get a couple of individual mild acne pimples

really i gave this product a long time, at least four months thinking i was doing something wrong if so many people had had such positive results but again my skin is different and so are many others, other than that ingredients such a benzoyl peroxide are awsome don't get me wrong, but just like salicylic acid and sulfur my skin and immune system build a ressistance to those ingredients which is why most products work so great at first and then after a short time its all down hill. I think proactiv was too gentle and not strong enough, this product did not worsen my condition nor improve it but if it does work for you im glad.

Pros:

It began working in one month. I would get tiny pimples all across my forehead and large pimples at my temples and down across my cheeks that would leave scars. Proactive cleared most everything up.

Cons:

bleaches my green(and only green, any shade) shirts and towels.

Very happy with the product. Would recommend to anyone.

Pros:

I like finally having a system I can trust with my skin. EVERYTHING I have tried to date would make me break out even worse. Clean feel, DH says he likes the smell (go figure!), much fewer breakouts....waiting to see if it helps my rosacea.

Cons:

time consuming! 5 minutes is too long at 6am! Once I wiped my neck with the Revitalizing Toner and had a chemical burn on my neck which took 2 weeks to heal.-ouch! I guess the skin on my neck is much more sensitive.

I will continue to use Proactiv. I like knowing that my skin is getting healthier. I can feel it. I get many positive comments. I don't care for the automatic shipments either.

Pros:

FABULOUS!

Cons:

expensive shipping cost

This is amazing, by far the best skin care product I've ever used. It is really the star of Dan's line. When I apply this it soothes my skin and takes away any redness I have. I don't get breakouts like I used to since I started using this. Even that time of the month has been relatively breakout free thanks to this.

Pros:

There are no pros

Cons:

it's expensive, made my skin worse than it was, I used it for a while and it started to bleach out my skin so now I have 4 or 5 different tones on my face.

i wouldn't recommend this crap to anyone and I wish I could sue!!
June 5, 2008

Pros:

It felt good when I was washing my face

Cons:

It didn't work at all- I bought the whole system and it didn't do anything!!

I don't know how it will react for you but it didn't work at all for me but I have talked to alot of peolpe that have tried it and it worked but I wasn't satified with it at all : (

Pros:

Works very fast! I was using ISOTREX but i didn't see much if any results. Started using panoxyl and it started working immediately. My face looked so much better within 3 days. Highly recommended for people with mild to severe acne!

Cons:

Will definetly dry your skin so use a good moisterizer. I'm using aveeno ultra-calming and it works great. It also has spf 15. Avoid sun exposure because panoxyl will make your skin very sensitive and could lead to redness.

works quickly, will clear up skin!!

Pros:

cheap, all natural, leaves skins feeling so smooth, great customer service

Cons:

website has issues sometimes

It's not a miracle product but it will help keep your skin healthy. I found I have to use the scrub more than the bottle directed me to so be sure you do whatever suits you best.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
