Pros:

used once when i had a fairly clear face, and surprisingly, it helped. how it could actually cause all this redness...idk. but its probably because i used it every other day.

if i need to i could use this stuff, but you should go see a dermatologist and get an evaluation to make sure your skin is getting its best treatment.

Pros:

It's cheaper than most Acne treatments. I bought the Terminator 10 (not the kit).

Cons:

- Redness all where ever you put the cream
- More Acne than before
- SEVERE Dryness after product usage

This product is good for nothing. Do not buy this product...it will make your face redder, dryer, flakier...and you may experience a worse break-out than before. It will humiliate you with the Reddness...DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Pros:

Fragrance-free, thick consistency, cheap and you can cut the tube open to get the last remnants out of the bottle :)

Cons:

wish it came in even bigger packaging, need to be patient and wait for it to dry or it'll bleach out all your clothes/sheets

I LOVE this stuff especially in comparison to proactiv's 2.5% which is too creamy and stinks to high heavens (enough to make you sick if in large increments which is required for DK's regimen)

Pros:

Does not irritate my skin; no odour, easy to use. I can pick it up at the mall.

Cons:

Not working well. It improved my skin, but I still break out. It doesn't hydrate enough in the winter.

I'm switching; I'm going to try exposed.

Pros:

None that I can tell

Cons:

itchy jawline and all the sudden swollen eyelids?!?!?!

Might be for some people.

Pros:

it worked

Cons:

but just for a short period of time.

this product is sh*t. it took a week for it to actually work and then a few days after i started breaking out, really bad. i decided to keep using it to see if it would go away and until now its been like 2 months and still my face is full of acne.

Pros:

Frankly, it's working for me. As it's descriped on this site. Waiting for the Daniel Kern's regiment gel...

Cons:

Really too expensive! used up one tube every week. And it's balling up all the time. And it causes flaking. Sometimes people wondering what I have on my face... I have to explain a lot each time. Anyway, pimples are almost gone...

I think like its name, On the spot, it'll be excellent only for the "spot". When it comes to the general application on the face, problems are caused. I didn't try the Daniel's regiment at beginning, cos it's quite complicate to get it in China. But finally I ordered them this morning, Even including the UPS service, it would be much cheapper than the Neutrogena cream(here in China, we buy it at $8). If you're outside the US, I think it's not a bad idea to try this one first, just to see if the BP really works for you.

Pros:

It definitely does work, but you need to make a religion out of using it twice a day.

Cons:

Missing even one session caused some of my pimples to come back.

I had pretty severe acne that even prescription topical treatments weren't really helping, so I tried proactiv, and found it to help quite a bit. It was worthwhile to switch for me.

Pros:

I had been using Proactiv for 2 yrs. It worked at first......

Cons:

Isuppose my skin got so immuned to the product that it just didn't work for me anymore

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE!!! IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME & MONEY..I USED THE PRODUCT FOR 2 YRS., IT WORKED FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS BUT STILL DID'T SEE THE RESULTS I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING.. SO I GUESS YOU CAN SAY I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED. ANYONE WITH ACNE I BEG YOU TO PLEASE GO AND SEE A DERMATOLOGIST BEFORE INVESTING INTO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. MY DOCTOR EVEN SAYS IT'S BULL SH-T IN SO MANY WORDS, BUT WAS NOT AT ALL SUPRISED ABOUT WHAT I WAS TELING HIM ABOUT THIS PRODUCT..HE SAID I WAS LIKE SO MANY OTHER DISAPPOINTED FANS..AND TO JOIN THE REST OF THE DISAPPOINTED FANS FOR THIS PRODUCT CALLED PROACTIV!!!!! SOME PRODUCT HUH...
May 4, 2007

Pros:

Not a whole lot...

Cons:

This product doesn't work. I tried it for six months thinking that perhaps the product just needed time. Nothing! In fact I think it made my overall acne problem worse while using it.

This product is extremely expensive and worthless. I gave it time to "do its magic" and nothing. I followed the directions and even consulted their customer service to make sure I was following their suggested guidelines of use.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
