Pros:

It doesn't smell bad

Cons:

It just did not work for me! At first it seemed like it was ok but then I got this HUGEE allergic reaction to it and my face was really red and puffy for 2 days. The acne also came back after about a week.

Don't buy it it's a huge waste of money. I guess it works for some people with severe severe severe acne but if you have mild to medium acne, don't waste your time with this worthless product.

Pros:

Cons:

Dried out my face so bad my skin turned black, (not brown but black like leather). I cried for 2 days.

Dont buy it. You will grow out of it.

Pros:

idont kno makes the pimple dry but leaves a scar.

Cons:

leaves red spots and scars and gives u this burning sensation.

DONT BUY IT! the 10% benzoyl peroxide hecka burns ur face and leaves SCARS! its because it dries out the skin.

Pros:

easy to apply, smooth, unscented,

Cons:

doesn't work on blackheads, peroxide makes your skin susceptible to burning,

I love this product! It works great to dry up oil on your skin, and reduces redness and swelling in about a day. I have not seen any effect on blackheads however. I put it on every night before i sleep.

it worked very well at first but now it sometimes getes rid of the pimples but it takes a couple days.

Pros:

I've been using it for a little over one week and my face is 95% cleared up! Every day I wake up and it's better than the last.

Cons:

The first two or three days that I used it, it made my skin feel a little bit itchy after I used it.

I am SO glad I bought this stuff. It worked really well on my face. It didn't dry my skin out which was great because I have very sensative skin. I only used it at night instead of twice a day. In the morning I used Dove Cool Moisture Foaming Facial Cleanser and then Dove Deep Moisture Facial Lotion, and at night I used the Acne Free Treatment. It worked really well, and was definitely worth the money. Within the first two or three days I saw a difference in my face, it's now been over a week and my face is almost totally cleared up.

Pros:

Worked for a little while.

Cons:

Stopped working. Dried my skin out like crazy, left it leathery and red, but still zitty. "Clear Skin Club" is a total crock.

I do not recommend this product... Really drying, stinky, time consuming, ineffective. And to top it all off, there is no way of purchasing it without joining their little club, so after you realize it doesn't work, you have to CALL and BEG THEM to stop sending it, and you will probably have a shipment or two that you're not going to use just sitting at your house, cause they send it to you (and charge you) whether you want it or not. Maybe they realize that if they don't make you sign some agreement, you will never buy a kit more than once... if they get you to sign up, they can at least milk another sale or two out of you. This stuff sucks.

Pros:

I've used proactive on and off for the past 5yrs. the first times I used proactive I noticed a difference after 30 days. My skin was clear,I was confident again and wasnt embarrassed or ashamed of my skin.
I stopped using the product after 4 mo.

Cons:

for me the only thing con is patience. However you must be patient and you will see results.

I like the product and think that when using proactive if you remain patient. You will see a difference. theres so many pruducts on the market right now and its hard to find one that works. many times I've stopped using proactive when my skin clears and resumed using when my skin problems occur. I think I will just keep using the product and with good eating habits and exersize things will be fine. Proactive does work well on the outside but whats going in the body matters too. Drinking plenty of water, and balanced meals helps. Exersize ties in to.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
