Pros:

it clears up acne it just takes some time . ive been using it for more then 2 years maybe 3 and ever since my acne has improved alot .

Cons:

it cost around $100 for me and now its $155 i think it has something to do with the insurance though.

i would recomment this but it just takes time so stop thinking and get it already so that time passes by and it gets better and better like it did for me.

Pros:

dosnt make skin red or burn doesnt dry out skin as bad as other products

Cons:

its takes a while to see good results dries out skin and makes your skin kinda sensitive

I saw ok results. It took about 3 months to see them though. I have acne under the skin rather than really red pus filled acne. Just little bumps everywhere. Helped with acne of my forhead and nose and one side of my face but still didnt get rid of the worst part. didnt do much for that part. But if your skin isnt that bad id give this a try. I guess my acne is too strong for this med.

Pros:

Makes your skin very smooth and has reduced the redness and swelling of acne also i dont seem as prone to breakouts which i really was before differin.

Cons:

makes skin VERY itchy! have to stop my self from itching the skin around my nose away sometimes lol. And also at the beginning the breakouts are bad but if you stick it through its not to bad

I hear this stuff takes about a month or 2 to give you the most amazing results and ive been using a little under a month and my skin is doing great right now so i totally endorse this product. Although i had been wearing it out in the sun and apparently your not supposed to be doing that so yeah...wont be doing that anymore.

Pros:

Clearing up face quickly. Using with Sulfacetamide lotion and Monodox pills.

Cons:

Drying out face. Put around eyes accidentaly and hurt for a few days. Sunburnt on drive home from work.

If you need it, get it. My dermatologist gave me coupons to make it free for first three refills and gave me lots of samples. Ask for these, doctors have them.

Pros:

It dries out and smooths out skin and is not too expensive depending on your insurance. You can also get a $25 rebate for it on the differin website.

Cons:

It did not work for me the second time around and had to go to the dermatologist for something better.

I used differin from ages 14-16 and it worked perfectly and fast. I eventually stopped using it and suddenly flared up with acne at age 19. I had differin prescribed to me since it had worked wonderfully the first time and after 6-7 months of using it religiously, my skin still looked awful as if I had not used anything. I am thinking maybe my body became immune to it after using it for 2 years straight. If not, I am not sure why it did not work this time.

Pros:

It clears up the large pimples, but still the small pimples remain.

Cons:

Skin is very itchy. I run every night so it gets super itchy when I work out.

I've read that it gets worse before it gets better, and their right. I completely broke out on my cheeks. I have never broken out as much as I did after using Differin. I've been using it for about 4 weeks and I am starting to see a difference. My skin is far from perfect though, but I am scheduled to see a derm. tomorrow. Let see what they have to say.

Pros:

Really helped my zits, made my skin much smoother.

Cons:

Horrible breakouts in the first week.

I've been using it for just over three weeks now, and its been working very well. It does cause bad breakouts when you first start using it, but don't worry. All those new zits disappear in 2-3 days. If you're patient, you get much better results than any acne treatment I've tried.

Pros:

it can really clear your face as other medcine may give negative effect

Cons:

You will feel your skin dry at the beginning, but it will becomes better after a few weeks you have used.
It may costs you a lot but it really benefits to you in contrast.

I used this product as I have the treatment from my doctor. He recomended me to use this product for 3 month. It really gives my skin dry at the beginning, but my condition becomes better after a few weeks. It finally clear my face with no ANCE and BLACKHEADS.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
