Pros:

easy
cheap
worked for me

Cons:

none

I've been using this method more than a week now and it's amazing! It almost cleared my skin and it gets better every day. You will see the result after 1-2 days. It doesn't hurt to try and you probably already have it in your house. So what i do is i dilute in water as much sea salt i can and using a cotton pad i apply it all over my face after cleansing. I wait about 30-40 minutes and rinse it off. And don't forget to apply moisturizer after that. You should cleanse your face two times a day: in the morning and before bed (just in case you didn't know). Good luck :)

Pros:

Helps dry up acne and excess oil, makes skin soft

Cons:

Stings a little bit but nothing bad

I read other reviews on here about sea salt so I decided to try it. My fifteen year old daughter has been having some breakouts. We tried this on her face and it really helped to dry up her acne. We mixed up some Sealyham with warm water and applied it to her face like a toner. We left it on the first night for 10 min. We have applied it every night for about a week and have gradually increased the time we leave it on. Shen left it on last night for about 45 min. It has really helped with her acne. Her skin looks much better. Just make sure to use sea salt not table salt

Pros:

Amazing! Almost completely got rid of all acne in one treatment!

Cons:

Dries face a little, but moisturiser fixes that. I use Marula Oil.

I went to the beach and noticed my face was looking great, so a couple of days later I took a trip to the pier and filled a bottle with sea water! Sounds a little odd but I soaked my face with a face cloth full of it and focussed more on the newer pimples with cotton balls. If it gets too dry, moisturise it whenever you need but this is the only thing that's EVER worked for me. Such a great find.

Cheap, natural, effective!

I never write reviews on anything normally but since the sea salt has been so effective I had to for this. I have had acne since 16. Since then I cannot remember a day when my face was completely free of blemishes. About a year ago I went to the beach on a regular basis and noticed my face started to clear, after a while I put two and two together. I now wash my face at night with a salicylic acid acne wash and then spray a sea salt and water mixture and after about fifteen or twenty min put moisturizer on. At first I saw minor improvement and after a month my whole face was clear, no pimples, not a single one. I have tried everything (including proactive which did not help at all) and this routine has been the ONLY one that has worked. I would highly recommend trying it.

Pros:

Has totally cleared up my skin!! All pimples have been reduced in size and if any come up they come to head and dry out almost instantaniously! Also, since I have combination/oily skin this keeps my face dry overnight.

Cons:

If you have dry skin, this will make your face drier so you may need to try this in combination with a good moisturiser.

FANTASTIC!! Every night after I cleanse my face, I spray my face with salt water (3 tablespoons of rock sea salt in a spray bottle, dissolved) so that it is dewy, but not dripping. Let dry and sleep!!

Pros:

Kills bacteria. cheap. Convenient, since I live at the beach. Can be used as an exfoliater but you have to be VERY gentle

Cons:

Made my face dry. Might be a little too harsh to people with sensitive skin

It's a good alternative. It's very cheap and there's no chemical side effects. If your face can handle it, do it.

Pros:

omg my skin with like, a week of using salt all my acne is going away!!!! my skin is softer, more even toned and clearer!!!

Cons:

sting if you have any open pimples ( but you get use to it!!!

well, I am like obsessed with homemade beauty recipes, and my friend always ask me what I recommend for there skin ^^ . So, i dissolve as much salt as I can in water, then add lemon juice (to brighten skin tone and fade scars, next I add honey ( to repair skin ) and dissolve in the salt/lemon water. I use this as a toner, AND IT REALLY WORKS!!! And always remember to moisturize!

Pros:

Dries out acne, tingling sensation upon application, leaves overall complexion even and smooth

Cons:

Can be abrasive (do not scrub)

I went to Ross and wandered over to the cooking isle because they usually have dead sea salt. I did not find that, but I found a pinkish sea salt from Hawaii. It is absolutely amazing. It does what I'd imagine a regular sea salt does. My pimples result from fatty foods/excessive sugar, which I found out through trial and error. This does an excellent job of clearing my face after a sugar binge weekend. Beforehand, I wash with my St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser (wonderful, by the way) and then I grind the salt into my hand, wet it a tiny bit, then stipple all around my face. I leave it on for a goo 10 minutes before rinsing. Definitely use a nourishing moisturizer after using the salt because it can leave your face feeling tight. Good luck, darlings! :)
