Pros:

- oily skin reduced thus acne slightly reduced

Cons:

- taking 5 pills 4 times a day
- relatively costly since it builds on top of the daily skincare regime.

- Paid $70 every 2 months that excluded P&H If oily skin is the cause of your acne, this should work. I think it does what it says - which is reduce the oil production on the skin. Whether or not that reduces acne is dependent on the participant's skin. It reduced my acne occurrence but as mentioned, I dont think oily skin is the only attribution towards acne. Try it if you have oily skin. Take this with a good cleanser/toner/moisturizer regime. This can be quite costly since it builds on top of your daily skincare.

Pros:

- just started

Cons:

many pills!

I suffer from moderate acne. I was looking on the net to find some remedies. I came across a few things. First of all, I found out that Salt water is really great for the skin. Also another thing was Vitamin A (dangerous in high doses) and vitamin B5 can help acne. Currently I am doing this: -Wash face with Cleanser in warm salt water (Let sea Salt disolve in hot water) - moisturize face with Lightweight, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic product. - Take 5g (10 500mg tablets) of B5 a day (might up it to 10g) - Take 60,000 IU of Vitamin A a day - Take 2 400IU of Vitamin E a day I am not sure if I should be doing something different. I just started taking the vitamins yesterday night, so I dont know what the outcome is yet. I have been washing my face w the salt water twice a day for two days so far and it has really helped! skin is less red, and pimples are much smaller and there are less

Pros:

-Easy To Do
-No Breakouts

Cons:

-Expensive, Did Not Reduce Oily Skin
-Potentially Harmful To The Liver
-Unknown Long Term Effects

I gave up after a week +. The reason is because the excessive amount 10g is way too much for my taste. I had read that taking such a megadose could **** up your liver. I did not think it was worth it, and I only wanted to do it for the oily skin that I have. At the moment, I'm using Concha Nacar Bleach Cream which seems to keep my oily skin at bay. You should definitely research this method as much as possible and willing to face the potential side effects. I'm just sticking to fish oil, b-complex, and zinc. It's a lot safer method to combating my oiliness.

Just didn't work for me. Now I use Apple cider vinegar and it works great.

Pros:

Seems to work for others and isn't a pharmaceutical.

Cons:

Made me break out really badly to the point where I gave it up after three weeks. Also - thought it's not a pharmaceutical - it is a damn high dosage of a vitamin...so perhaps just as bad in a way.

OK I'd always noticed in the past that certain foods somehow made my skin better the next day. Once I'd finally realised that all these foods had lots of B5 in them, I did some research on the vitamin itself, thought "great, this is the answer" and started taking about a gram a day. This is perhaps where I went wrong - maybe if you take a low dosage like this, you're more likely to break out. But on the other hand, I don't know - maybe if I'd have taken really high amounts, I'd have broken out even worse. So I'm not sure. I think I had an unlucky reaction to B5 really. I broke out quite badly, especially in one area of my face (the side I sleep on). I knew this initial break out was a risk so carried on for a while, but after three weeks, and after reading that some people break out for months (or up to three months I read once) I thought sod it. Have been off it for a couple of weeks and seems to be healing up fine. So try it but be prepared. Kel x

Pros:

Don't know yet

Cons:

Don't know yet

Just discovered these reviews so at the weekend I went and bought 100 500mg timed release B5 tablets, 50 Vitamin B complex and 100 multi vits. Having read all the reviews on here I though I would try out my own regime. I have suffered from acne since about 15 and I'm 31 now. I don't get that many spots but they're still unsightly and I don't like having a spotty back and chest, especially when getting naked with a girl for the first time... I'm a bit worried about the side effects - hair loss etc and also if you take a massive dose all the time that acne will be a lot worse when you stop. What I'm doing is having 2X 500mg in the morning with a B complx, and 2X 500mg in the evening with the multi vit. What I am hoping is I can gradually find my doseage without shocking my system too much. I'm going to do a week at this level and then see if anything has happened. Fingers crossed. :)

Pros:

Cheap,
Works as long as you use it

Cons:

Terrible breakouts once you stop

It works when you completely stick to it. But once you stop using B5 you could end up having acne which would be worse then what you had before starting to take B5. I used it and regret my decision. It was a waste of time and money. So I would advice, why not go for a non brand B5 from some reputable company which you could also find online and more effective. I feel murad would be a better option for non branded vitamin B5.

Pros:

i just started taking it a few days ago so im not sure yet..

Cons:

seems like my skins breaking out still, not any worse basically the same/maybe a little less...i know it takes time for everything that was clogged in you're pores to unclog..so im not giving up.

I really really hope that taking Vitamin B5 works!!Ive been taking 4-5 grams to start off..bought it from GNC. I don't have really oily skin but i break out alot..not horribly but enough for me not to want to go out..so hopefully this is my cure!! I hear so many good things so i really hope this works for me!!!!! cross your fingers.
