Pros:

- It does work, for a while
- Less oily, no more cysts

Cons:

- Bad side-effects
- Lots of hairloss even 4 months after I stopped
- Expensive

I've been on b5 for only 2 months on a medium dose (6 grams a day max) and 4 months after I stopped I still have hairloss and hairthinning, it's stopping now though, and may not completely be attributable to the b5 (had a lot of stress during that time).. The acne did stop while I was on it so in my case the desired effect was there, but it was definitely not worth the hairloss (oh yeah and dry eyes as well). I'm pretty sure the b5 played a large role in losing my hair, just search on the internet for hairloss b5 and you'll come across a lot of people that have exactly the same problem. Some say it's because of a Biotin deficiency, but I did take the recommended b-50 complex on the side while I was on b5, maybe it wasn't enough for me. I always had a head full of thick hair, no baldness in the family (both sides) and my brother who is 4 years older than me still has the hair I had before the b5. Not that I'm going bald, I'm still blessed with lots of hair.

Pros:

none

Cons:

Hair loss!!

great hair prior to supplementing B5. 2 months in, hair started shedding at alarming rate. Been off for b5 for 4 months now, hair is still shedding. Been to 5 different dermatologist/hair specialists all giving me different diagnosis. No family history of hair loss. DEFINITELY CAUSED BY B5!!! can now see scalp through hair. use with caution please.

Pros:

seemed to reduce skin oil?

Cons:

made me break out MUCH worse than before, made me feel sick. dried out skin and didn't let anything heal.
Maybe i didn't try it for long enough, but i don't care-this stuff didn't make me feel right at all.

Sounds a little like accutane at first? i dont know cause i haven't been on accutane but my guess is no, they aren't all that similar. No where near the amount of research has been done on b5 as it has been on accutane, so i think accutane might even be safer-hard to tell. Starting at 5 and going up to 10g/ day is so unnatural for your body, and it throws other chemical balances in your body out of wack. ive read good reviews on this (why i went on it) but no matter what they say, i cant imagine megadosing on this stuff is good for you. Save yourself the trouble and don't try it.

Pros:

You can get it online or at vitamin stores.

Cons:

The prices add up and beceome expensive. I used the bathroom alot more than usual.

I have used this product for over two months. At no point have I seen any results. The pimples have continued to appear on my face and leave horrible scars. I think the B5 helps to reduce the scars faster. Still though, I have patiently waited and lost alot of money through this. Just today I had five big red bumps appear on my face, not to mention all of the little bumps that have only appeared since starting B5. I will finish up my last 3 bottles and then start taking Accutane.

Pros:

less oily skin, slightly smaller pores

Cons:

Cost, the possibility of it stop working after 1 or 2 years

I have mild acne (3 to 5 spots at a time) I took 10g a day for over a month and noticed that my face was producing less oil but i was still getting spots. I also continued with the regimen at the same time. I also read lots of posts from people who have been on this drug for some time and many of them said that after a year or two it just stopped working; sometimes making their acne worst than before they started taking it. This worried me so i have slowly been taking less and less and hope to just take 2g a day.

Pros:

It works, but you have to stick to it.

Cons:

If you stop you'll break out big time!!!!!!! Really really bad! And its too expensive..

I have tried b5 for about months, and then I finally got so sick of taking too many pills, and I stopped taking it. And guess what!!! My skin turned horrible...a lot worse than how it was before I started B5. I so regret taking b5. Waste of money!! But, if you can afford to stick to it..then yeah but I don't know what the side effects will be for long term use. So its your choice. I'd say, look out for other solutions out there. My acne isn't all that bad now, I just simply eliminated oil, sugar and milk from my diet. And I tried to reduce stress. My still get zits here and there. But not too bad. SO MY ADVICE>>> STAY AWAYY FROM B5!!!!!!!!
