Pros:

I started taking this product about 9 Months ago, and I have not had a single pimple on my skin in months. My skin cleared up the first month, after taking 20 pills a day.

Cons:

The product is great, but the marks from previous breakouts can take months to clear.

If you have acne and want pure clear skin, this is the product for you. I get my Pantothenic Acid from GNC. You should also wash your face with a good benzoyl peroxide the first couple of months. Good luck to everyone, and just be patient with it!

Pros:

Less oil, completely cleared my skin. I had 7 pimples last week and there are 0-1 today. Pores appear tighter.

Cons:

very drying with chapped lips and dry flaky skin. 1 day of diarrehea and 1 day of constipation. burning face as drying occured.

I would definetely reccomend it, but maybe try less quantity first. The first 3 days I did 3 G which is 6 500mg pills and seen effects instantly. Then I increased to 5G a day which is 10 pills a day and it seems to work great for me. Its just extremely drying for me with the soap I use and differin gel 0.3. But, it has been a 1-2 wks so far and my scars are claring and my skin only had 1 pimple that came back. That is a drastic improvemnet from having 6 or more at once. I was about to start on accutane next wk so hopefully this continues to work. Regiment Palmolive soap( cheap soap that completely dries skin out. Drink only water now Less oily or fatty foods vitamin C 1 pill vitamin E 1 pill vitamin a 1 pill fish oil 1 pill B complex 100mg ( just started taking today to prevent hair loss)

Pros:

none

Cons:

my skin was still oily after using this product for a month. The biggest and worst of all was the HAIR LOSS! Don't use this product. I would rather have acne than baldness. I don't think my hair is going to grow back. I am so devastated.

Don't waste your time, money and energy on this complete scam. My skin after downing so many pills per day was more oily. I would like to sue these bastards. I've stopped taking them for a few months now. I don't thing my hair is ever going to be the same. It's so depressing being a woman with hair loss. As i already mentioned I'd rather have zits.

Pros:

Very effective. Skin is consistently smoother and less oily. Never get those deep lingering infections

Cons:

Swallowing tons of pills, occoasional diarreah during high dosage

I have been using B5 relatively consistently for about 5 years now. I tend to vary the dosage, high for a couple of weeks, moderate for a month or 2, then minimal or none for several weeks. This approach seems to keep the effectiveness going better for me, but I admit it is not a scientific study. No question this stuff works for me.

Pros:

Started taking 4 500-mg capsules 2xdaily about four days ago. Dramatic improvement. Did Accutane 5 yrs ago and my acne is worse than ever. The aching, dryness and testing with Accutane was terrible. And horribly expensive.

Cons:

I have had zero side effects so far.

Why do dermatologists prescribe those expensive products when this is available? Could it be JOB SECURITY? Try this today. It's worth every penny compared to every other treatment out there!

Pros:

Less oil, smaller pores

Cons:

Breakouts seem to have gotten worse.

Like the fact that skin is less oily, but breadouts have increased, are bigger and painful. I have not had any real side effects except for the increased breakouts. Am going to speak with dermatologist this week. Am likely to ask about returning to use of Accutane. Have been on it two other times in my 20's and loved it. Had hoped Vilantae would work, but not so sure. Expensive yes but not as expensive as Accutane and less side effects than Accutane. But it is worth the try.

Pros:

face is less oily, fewer breakouts

Cons:

diarrhea

I have been using SkinB5 for only a few days but already see an improvement. My skin is less oily and I have not had any new pimples since starting. After reading some of the other reviews, I'm a little nervous b/c I don't want it to lose its affect, this is actually working!! Hopefullly, the longer I use it, my existing pimples will go away. We'll see. It's worth a try.

Pros:

Did help reduce oil on my face.

Cons:

Major thinning, balding

I was on a dosage of vilantae at 10g per day for five weeks. I have only mild acne but oily skin. At first product was great skin oil reduced and acne subsided to almost completely clear at around 3 weeks in. At the start of the 4th week started to notice hair was easily falling out when washing, but considered that maybe I was looking to closely, at the end of the 4th week, hair was brittle and dry and shedding at an alarming rate, at that point I quit, but another 3 weeks on I have almost a complete bald patch on the right hand-side next to my ear. I feel ripped and vain for buying into this, as my acne was so mild. BEWARE OF B5.

Pros:

Pretty inexpensive

Cons:

Tastes awful, makes me feel sick and tired all day and I have constant diarreah.

I have only been taking this for two weeks now and I feel terrible. It has done nothing for my skin as of yet but I don't know if I can handle this feeling anymore. I keep thinking that my body will adjust like they say it will after approx. 7 day but I am not. Did anyone else feel like this at first. I want to keep going with it becasue it seems like it works for everybody else.

Don't waste your time.

Pros:

easily accessible from GNC and other drug stores

Cons:

doesn't reduce oil production
not very cost-effective even if it did work
very inconvenient to take so many pills at different time intervals everyday

I took 10 x 500 mg pills a day for one month. Five in the morning and five in the evening. I never noticed any difference in oil production. But it was doing something. My urine definitely became bright yellow and smelled awful. I had pretty significant indigestion as well. I have read some claims that you must take it at specific time intervals, with certain foods, and at greater amounts (sometimes even double what I was taking). That is just too inconvenient and not worth it to me. I can't schedule my life around taking pills like a addict all the time. On just one pill a day of accutane I can bath in mayo and still have perfect skin. And it is cheaper than taking b5. I also find it very hard to believe that taking this many pills of b5 long-term is a safer solution to accutane which produced far fewer side effects. Especially when I start reading about severe hair loss from b5 mega-dosing. That is a little more serious than cracked lips on accutane.
