Pros:

Definitely helped me.

Cons:

B5 works, sort of, but its a remedy not a cure.

Try the following instead: Give up cows milk (for info on this do a search on acne + milk on the internet). I've given up cows milk and seen a massive improvement (although to be fair I used to drink a lot of milk). Also cut back on sugar as much as possible. You've heard this before - but the important thing is the total sugar you eat - from any source - not only mars bars and ice cream. Some fruit smoothies for example contain 25% sugar & even carrot juice is apparently high in sugars. Both of these are supposed to be good for you but I am totally/100% convinced that high sugar intake aggravates acne. Also some supplements possibly help - MSM (in high doses), evening primrose oil & starflower oil.

Pros:

cleared skin and scars, no oil, brightens complexion

Cons:

none

I have Vit b5 pantothenic acid time release, just one a day of 500mg. I had moderate skin problems for four years and just one of these tablets a day after two weeks has completely changed my skin. Even healing old scars I had on other parts of the body and noticed any bruising disappears in couple of days at most. No need to take hundreds of tablets a day because the vitamin is slowly released over an 8 hour period. Fantastic! From Uk, cost £7.00 for 100 tablets.

Pros:

soft skin, acne healing

Cons:

no side effects others have said, except some breakout

I've only started taking b5 two days ago, and before, i had many clogged pores, not acne, but little bumps on the surface of the skin that wouldn't go away, but I've begun to break out, so maybe its clearing out the pores?

Pros:

Seems to work for others and isn't a pharmaceutical.

Cons:

Made me break out really badly to the point where I gave it up after three weeks. Also - thought it's not a pharmaceutical - it is a damn high dosage of a vitamin...so perhaps just as bad in a way.

OK I'd always noticed in the past that certain foods somehow made my skin better the next day. Once I'd finally realised that all these foods had lots of B5 in them, I did some research on the vitamin itself, thought "great, this is the answer" and started taking about a gram a day. This is perhaps where I went wrong - maybe if you take a low dosage like this, you're more likely to break out. But on the other hand, I don't know - maybe if I'd have taken really high amounts, I'd have broken out even worse. So I'm not sure. I think I had an unlucky reaction to B5 really. I broke out quite badly, especially in one area of my face (the side I sleep on). I knew this initial break out was a risk so carried on for a while, but after three weeks, and after reading that some people break out for months (or up to three months I read once) I thought sod it. Have been off it for a couple of weeks and seems to be healing up fine. So try it but be prepared. Kel x

Pros:

You can get it online or at vitamin stores.

Cons:

The prices add up and beceome expensive. I used the bathroom alot more than usual.

I have used this product for over two months. At no point have I seen any results. The pimples have continued to appear on my face and leave horrible scars. I think the B5 helps to reduce the scars faster. Still though, I have patiently waited and lost alot of money through this. Just today I had five big red bumps appear on my face, not to mention all of the little bumps that have only appeared since starting B5. I will finish up my last 3 bottles and then start taking Accutane.

Pros:

Much less oily already! I can work a 9 hour shift and my face is still not shiny! I have only been taking for a week and am only up to 7 grams now but it seems to be working. Old pimples are slowly clearing and not many new ones coming up.

Cons:

nothing yet. the first time i tried B5 i got diarrhea, but not this time.

I didn't want to try it because it's so expensive to get all those pills but then i found Puritan's Pride...they sell 100 count bottles of 500 mg B5 for $3.27!! So a whole month's worth only costs me 20 bucks, and their shipping is cheap too. I will update again once I have used the stuff for a few months, but good results thus far.

Pros:

seems to be working. helps me drink more water.

Cons:

none

I've been taking 20 pills a day for about 2 1/2 weeks, and it seems to be working. I haven't really gotten any new pimples, it's just taking a while for the old ones to clear up. I've had pretty bad acne for about 7 years, and this is definitely better than anything else I;ve tried.I only have a few pimples right now, the rest of my face is just healing, but it looks way better! i noticed results after the 1st week. I'll post back when my acne completey clears up!!! i have faith that it will!

Pros:

clears skin fast

Cons:

loose stool

It works. Im tired of hearing people hate on it for the 20 pill thing. Acne is much worse than taking 20 pills a day. Also take i twith lots of vitaim C. 8000mg per day (C helps heal) both are water solluible so they are safe to take in mega doses. Try it. Worth the results.

Pros:

EVERYTHING!

Cons:

gas and diahrrea when you first start taking it

Bottom Line: This stuff changed my life! If I could be a spokesperson for Vitamin B5,(Pantothenic Acid) I would do it for free! If you faithfully stick to the program (which I know can be hard), I promise you it will work! I struggled with acne for 7 years and have tried everything! This, along with topical use of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar before bedtime, has dramatically turned my skin around. It has taken 4-5 months, but be patient. You will so happy with the results!
