The only thing that has worked...
At 24 you'd think I was finished with acne but from about 20 it just got worse. Huge, painful and red swellings ran down my cheeks almost permanently and there was always one or two around my mouth or on my forehead. I tried almost every brand out there, from the expensive to the cheap. I tried homemade treatments using honey, lemon, vinegar, tumeric, olive oil and whatever else I could get my hands on. Then I went away on holiday and forgot my toiletry case. All I could get was the Dove regular soap. By the end of the holiday my face had drastically improved and so I kept using the soap. It doesn't effectively remove make up so I've added coconut oil to my night routine (that's it, nothing more - no moisturizer, no other product, nothing). Night Routine: 1. Work a small amount of coconut oil all over my face, over my eyes, lips, neck, everywhere and leave for about a minute - then wipe off with a cotton wool pad. That removes all traces of make up. 2. Work Dove up into a lather and cleanse my face thoroughly - rinse. 3. I occasionally dab a drop of coconut oil around my eyes because it is supposed to help with wrinkles but super nervous it causes a breakout although that hasn't happened (yet). Morning Routine: 1. Splash face with water (occasionally I wash my face with dove soap but then it can feel slightly tight) Makeup: I use Garnier's BB cream (again, just the regular one - I don't use moisturizer so this works as one) unless I am going out and then I use Loreal's Infallible Foundation I have recently started going without make up at all though because FINALLY MY SKIN IS CLEAR!!!!!! I don't normally post reviews but I am just so freaking happy and would love to be able to help someone else with the same problem that I had (severe acne on the cheeks).

Pros:

removes makeup
doesnt strip skin
pH balanced
moisturizing
cheap
easily avaliable
can use it all over body, no need for seperate face/body acne washes

Cons:

none!

Compared to cetaphil gentle skin cleanser this is very slightly less gentle but it removes makeup and dead flaky skin better but it still leaves your natural oils intact.

Pros:

Gentle
Leaves skin feeling smooth
Treats and prevents breakouts

Cons:

A little drying

Let me tell you, this product is a breath of fresh air. After using harsh multi-step acne products all through high school, it feels so nice to wash my face with this simple, yet effective soap. This works for me because I am well passed puberty and just need something simple to wash my face with to keep it clean. I doubt it will work for people with severe acne. But give it a try! I love it.

Pros:

Gentle and softens skin.

Cons:

I have to use with Epsom salts. It does not work alone to heal acne.

I have had severe hormonal acne since August 2012 due to a hormonal imbalance I'm working through. I have always had breakouts ever since I was 12, but lately it has been just unsightly. I can barely look my husband in the eyes because I feel so ugly. I have tried everything to sooth my acne ...I even resorted to getting proactive, but nothing has worked. I like Dan's products, but the AHA breaks me out and the wash does nothing for me. I have spent so much money trying every product on the market to aleast reduce the large, sore bumps on my jaw and neck. One day I got tired of my acne cleanser doing nothing, but irritating my skin so I grab my dove sensitive skin soap bar to wash my face since it has worked before my hormonal acne appeared. Then I saw my Epsom salts by the bathtub and thought ...Why not? I cannot believe the results in just a week. I look in the mirror and cry because it's so simple and inexpensive. My face is badly scared, but the blackheads/ small bumps are GONE and the large bumps are fading. I cannot believe it. My current reg: Dove mixed with Epsom as a wash, Dickinson's pore toner used with a cotton ball, and Dan's topical treatment ...I'm still looking for a good moisturizer. Right now I'm just using the rest of my proactive spf until I can find one I like, but my skin looks amazing compared to just a few weeks ago.

Pros:

helps keep face clean of acne
Gentle on skin, leaves it soft
No fragrance
very cheap
good for all body cleansing it really is a great product, please try it out it really worked for me ( little bit drying )

Cons:

can be a little drying but worth it
can be a little messy but i use it in the shower and lather it so it really makes no difference

I am not normally one to write reviews but i felt compelled too after trying this out. I have tried everything on my acne, from proactive to daily cleansers such as cetaphil, spectro jel, to prescription medication such as RetinA-Micro& Clindoxyl, to Oxypad wipes. They have either made it worse or havent really done anything. ( other than RetinA-Micro, if you use that stuff religiously every night it should make a difference eventually, but nothing is as easy and as cheap to use then this Dove Beauty Bar for sensitive skin, just keep it in shower and lather it up for 15-30 seconds and gently lather it into your face and you are left feeling clean, smooth, and after a few days, i saw remarkable effects. only downside is it is a little bit drying though but it is still really nice. Who would of thought that just a bar of soap could make such a difference? I have completelty stopped using everything else and just wash my face in the shower with this beauty bar. Give it a try, its cheap, and really works!! ( it did for me atleast, and i have tried everything trust me) i give it a 4/5 only because of the *LITTLE* bit of dry skin, but again its not bad at all its a light dry sensation

Pros:

Inexpensive
Works well on acne!
Gentle on skin, leaves it soft
No fragrance

After years of trying to improve my acne, the best cleanser was the simplest and cheapest!! I am always careful to wash off the outer layer before lathering my face, since bar soap can harbor bacteria. Also wash gently! If you scrub too much it can dry out your skin. I follow up with Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel lotion. I feel like my skin is actually LESS oily since using Dove because of the moisturizing! Definitely give this a try.

-Clears acne
-Gives skin a glow, makes skin soft
-inexpensive

This isn't any ordinary soap. It cleared my acne quickly and results can be seen overnight! Pimples get drastically smaller. I used it twice a day, morning and night and can't be more thankful. It helped with my teenage acne a lot!

Pros:

-Clears acne
-Actually cleans all that gunk out of your pores unlike the "super duper gentle" cleansers we're always told to use.
-Great for sensitive skin-- no fragrance/ non-comedogenic

Cons:

Can be a tad drying for the face at first but it's perfect for the body

I had moderate acne on my back and this is the only thing I've tried that works absolute wonders. I have NO pimples on my back. Not even one. If I do get any sort of pimple on my back, I just spot treat it with some bp. Now I'm going to start using it on my face because, frankly, I'm sick of feeling like my face is not completely clean after cleansing. A huge cause for acne is clogged pores so I don't see how lightly cleansing your face with a super gentle cleanser (that does not even remove all of my make up) would get rid of my acne.
