Used Dove : Sensitive Skin Bar? Rate It:

Pros:

Very cheap
Lasts a long time
Gentle
Creamy lather

Cons:

A little drying
Not strong enough

I was so excited to see that this simple dove bar was the solution to many people's acne. I decided to give it a try and see if it could help my cystic acne, unfortunately it was a little too gentle for my face. I really liked the creamy lather and clean feeling i felt after using this, however it wasn't too effective at preventing breakouts for me, and was a little drying. Instead i use it as a shoulders chest and back wash for acne instead and it works wonders. Prevents all body acne breakouts. This product would probably be more effective for someone with mild to moderate acne.

Pros:

It is inexpensive and works better than anything else I've tried. I've never had problems with it being drying, although I have very oily skin so that could be why.

Cons:

As far as I know, it is a glorified soap, so the negatives associated with using soap products are there. It does also have the tendency to melt if it gets wet too much which not only means you're out of your product, it also leaves a mess.

For the past decade I have been dealing with acne (I am twenty-two now). I used Retin-A in high school, I tried birth control and I tried pretty much every cream, cleanser and over the counter acne remedy that is out there. I ran out of my face cleanser last year and was low on money so I was stuck washing my face with my Dove soap. My skin became better than it had looked in years. I don't think that this would work for everybody and if someone has problems with drying I think this might not be the best product but for me it is gentle, cleansing and effective.

Pros:

Helped to clear up spots on my chest within a week. My usual soap was making me broke out. I changed to dove and it cleared up!

Cons:

I've read somewhere that it clogs pores.

It definitely worked on my chest!

Pros:

Cleans off ALL makeup
Great for sensative skin
Is not drying
No fragrance
Very cheap compaired to other face washes
Last a long time

Cons:

Not cruelty free

Its a good cleanser for the face and body. It takes off all makeup including mascara. Its an all around good soap. I hate having to use a different product to remove my eye makeup and with this soap it does it all in one step. Plus it does not dry out your skin which is great. My only complaint is that Dove is not cruelty-free, for this reason I am always on the search for a better soap but so far this soap is the only one that works for all my facial soap needs and doesnt cause breakouts or clog my pores.

Pros:

It is really inexpensive and works great; clears up acne

Cons:

It leaves a sort of white film sometimes

I've used products including proactive, acne complex, clinique's 3 step system, and neutrogena/clean&clear/clearasil products and more and some worked but only for a while. I thought that my acne would never go away, so I tried dan's regimine and it worked but again stopped for some reason. My stepmother has a great complexion and referred me to use dove sensitive skin or dove beauty bar pink. I tried the sensitive skin bar and let me tell you, I am amazed. My acne is healing and getting much better and my acne scars are almost gone. Dove's SS bar is really amazing, and all I had to do is stop putting chemicals on my skin and confusing it. I just wash my face day and night and use cetaphil moisturizer!

Pros:

a bit pricy

Cons:

lathers well, fresh-smelling, easy to find (sold everywhere)

I use it twice a day on my face. The first couple of times I used it, it made my face feel a bit dry, in the area where the cheek meets the chin. But since then, I don't have dryness and don't need to use moisturiser each time I wash. I like the smell and look of this soap and the way it lathers well even in Jerusalem where the water is hard. I haven't yet noticed that I have less spots on my face, but it's certainly no worse than usual and this is much cheaper than a tube of face wash and probably gentler too.

Pros:

I've had acne before just an unusal breakout and remember 10 years ago Dove helped. Now I have it again from running, after using lots of other stuff I opted to give Dove another try.Altho not all cleard up after 4 days,it comes recommended!

Cons:

No cons as yet, I dont expect a quick fix, but gona stick with it for now! Its the only product that has made a real difference.

Oh Please try it! Its so cheap lots would think its not posible to do the trick. At 33 I did not see this coming, and I've got it bad, but Dove Soap has given me hope! Advise always use a toner regardless of what you trying, the cleaners more than not leave skin dry, however toner works out the PH balance of the skin, do not complete the routine without it!

Simple yet effective

No matter what cleansers I have tried to help or reduce my acne, I always go back to dove soap bars. This particular one is simple, last lot longer than liquid soaps, no harsh ingredients, or bippy-boppy-boo fighting acne stuff, but yet cleanses the skin. Not only that I used this on my face but also on my body (cause it is also sensitive as well). I had also recommend this to my boyfriend cause not only his skin is very sensitive, but its also budget friendly (he used to buy this liquid soap that  is hypoallergenic but cost $$$$$). I do like the dove sensitive soap bar, but the reason I gave it a 4 star cause now I am in love with the dove pink (rosa) soap bar. Yes, they both do the same job I felt like the pink one give moisture to the skin. However if the smell of the rosa bothers people, then either the dove original or sensitive soap bar.

My current regimen:

Morning: Nothing (unless if there's a special event then gently cleanse with soap bar for 30 to 45 seconds, rinse, pat dry, and moisturize). If skin feeling tight/dry then slap on moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Night: Cleanse with dove soap bar. If had makeup, then cleanse twice for 30 seconds. Every 2 to 5 days (or just when my skin needs it) exfoliate with a device (a baby rag towelette or hand glove exfoliate). Then use moisturizer (current fav vanicream cream).

Budget friendly?:?? Sure is! And since it is a soap bar, it last much longer.

Does it do its purpose?:?? I believe so. Since it is none acne fighting ingredients, less chances are of irritating the skin.

Would recommend?: Its like a yes and a no thing. If you have normal to oily skin, then yes I would recommend it. However, if you have normal to dry skin, then my recommendation is the pink dove soap. Overall, it will not hurt to try it...give it a shot and see how your skin works and try out different ways.

P.S. it will take about a month to see improvements, so be patience! Also, less is more when it comes to skincare ;)

Pros:

Makes my face feel very clean, lathers extremely well, rinses off easily.

Cons:

I find it very drying despite it's "gentle" nature.

I would recommend this soap if you've got your skin pretty under control. If you have breakouts every so often and generally problematic skin don't use this. Stick to Spectrojel.
