Pros:

-Better than ANY face wash I've tried.

-Doesn't burn or irritate skin in ANY way

-Can use all over face, even to wash around the eyes and eyelids!

Cons:

NONE

I am an R.N. (soon-to-be Nurse Practitioner) and have been using this since my dermatologist recommended it when I was in high school. Who knew that a simple bar of Dove is all you need as an everyday facial cleanser?! If you suffer from acne, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY OTHER FACIAL CLEANSER! You name it-I've tried it! I've even tried the different varieties of Dove bars, and this one is the most effective because it is extremely gentle. Even if you don't have "sensitive skin" per say, the face that it's fragrance free and hypoallergenic, you can rest assured that it will not aggravate any current skin conditions (eczema, acne, rosacea, sunburn, etc.) I recommend this to any and all patients...from 1 month to 80 years old!

Pros:

This has really helped my skin clear up. And helps to prevent future breakouts. Makes my skin feel soft and does not dry out my skin.

Cons:

I still break out every once in a while, but it's the only product I've used that hasn't made my acne worse.

I've struggled with acne for over 10 years and have extremely sensative skin. I started using it when my dermatologist recommended it a couple years ago. I was always trying different products that were marked towards people with acne and everything made my skin worse. My dermatoligst said that, because of my skin type, most products that say they will "treat acne" will more than likely make my acne worse (especially products with salicylic acid and even Proactiv)...and that is what happend. I even went to another dermatologist for a second opinion and he said the same thing. It's not a "miracle cure" and I do break out sometimes but it did help with clearing up the acne I had and like I said it's the only thing I've tried that hasn't made my skin worse. However, I would recommend seeing a dermatologist and seeing what they have to say. What works for me may not work for you.

Help..
I am now deciding if I shall use Dove beauty bar as a substitute to Cetaphil cleanser. Cetaphil is so expensive and I cant afford the price. Does Dove soap is as gentle as Cetaphil?

Yes and in fact Dove is a little kinder to your skin than cetaphil

Not sure if you tried this yet, but don't use this. It leaves a tacky, thick and pore-clogging film on your face and will cause more acne.
February 6, 2017
I just washed my face with this and there is nothing thick or tacky on it. It rinsed off fine. I'm not sure why some people say they are experiencing this.

I think it depends on the quality of water (hard vs soft) and how people use it such as rubbing the bar directly on their face or not using a washcloth with it. An example would be to rub the soap into the washcloth make a lather on the washcloth and then wash the face.

Pros:

Unbelievably Good. Acne has disappeared for first time in years!

Cons:

What cons....there are none!

I started using this whilst staying at my folks for a couple of days and didn't even know what it was as it was half used. I couldn't believe that my seborrheic dermatitis and acne had nearly disappeared after two nights. Now one week on my skin is amazing. I've tried everything and most didn't help or made it worse. I also have a very good diet with very little sugar, dairy or refined wheat which I've been following for the past year but my acne still persisted. I know its only been a week but my skin has never been this good since I hit puberty and I'm 36 now. Wish I'd tried this years ago. My care routine simply is washing my face thoroughly three times a day. No dryness or tightness just radiant clear skin.

Love it
Gives my skin a fresh feeling after washing my face. Over the year I've tried lots of harsh chemicals that just made my pimples worse and dried it out. Dove on the other hand doesn't dry out your skin and doesn't contain any harsh chemicals like other face washes do. Go dove!! 🎉🎉

Pros:

Gentle and softens skin.

Cons:

I have to use with Epsom salts. It does not work alone to heal acne.

I have had severe hormonal acne since August 2012 due to a hormonal imbalance I'm working through. I have always had breakouts ever since I was 12, but lately it has been just unsightly. I can barely look my husband in the eyes because I feel so ugly. I have tried everything to sooth my acne ...I even resorted to getting proactive, but nothing has worked. I like Dan's products, but the AHA breaks me out and the wash does nothing for me. I have spent so much money trying every product on the market to aleast reduce the large, sore bumps on my jaw and neck. One day I got tired of my acne cleanser doing nothing, but irritating my skin so I grab my dove sensitive skin soap bar to wash my face since it has worked before my hormonal acne appeared. Then I saw my Epsom salts by the bathtub and thought ...Why not? I cannot believe the results in just a week. I look in the mirror and cry because it's so simple and inexpensive. My face is badly scared, but the blackheads/ small bumps are GONE and the large bumps are fading. I cannot believe it. My current reg: Dove mixed with Epsom as a wash, Dickinson's pore toner used with a cotton ball, and Dan's topical treatment ...I'm still looking for a good moisturizer. Right now I'm just using the rest of my proactive spf until I can find one I like, but my skin looks amazing compared to just a few weeks ago.

Pros:

removes makeup
doesnt strip skin
pH balanced
moisturizing
cheap
easily avaliable
can use it all over body, no need for seperate face/body acne washes

Cons:

none!

Compared to cetaphil gentle skin cleanser this is very slightly less gentle but it removes makeup and dead flaky skin better but it still leaves your natural oils intact.

Pros:

Gentle
Leaves skin feeling smooth
Treats and prevents breakouts

Cons:

A little drying

Let me tell you, this product is a breath of fresh air. After using harsh multi-step acne products all through high school, it feels so nice to wash my face with this simple, yet effective soap. This works for me because I am well passed puberty and just need something simple to wash my face with to keep it clean. I doubt it will work for people with severe acne. But give it a try! I love it.

Gentle, and non irritating for acne prone skin
My dermatologist recommended this bar for my face, as well as a 10 percent benzoyl peroxide wash. I use this once a day at night every two days, with my benzoyl wash in between days, and it is wonderfully creamy, gentle, scentless and non drying! Maybe not that effective on its own for acne, but very good for sensitive skin or to be used with another cleanser. LOVE :D
